Yeah, it’s really difficult to listen to someone so obviously feeling he must measure every word he speaks. And that’s not to say, oh it would be great if he gave off-the-cuff answers, but two things seem apparent: it’s hard to find a journalist who has taken the time to pay much more than passing - if that - attention to United’s “junior” players. I’ve yet to hear any journo mention an “Under-21” or below player the team may be watching/touting. I’ve yet to hear anyone mention communication between Onana and the defenders in front of him (watching, they rarely converse at all)… not enough nuanced observations from people paid well to cover the team and league. I mean, with all the reoccurring injuries United players seem to have - errant surgeries, misdiagnoses, etc. - has there been anyone seeking to deep dive into understanding how/why this happens - and what’s being done to mitigate it??

I don't think we should sack EtH even if we don't achieve all those things mentioned, though. Give him another season and evaluate then.

@joe i listened to the ratcliffe podcast this morning. The scholes comment was quite off the cuff and casual. I wouldnt read that much into it. It certainly wasn't aimed at casemiro. If anything it was quite a leading question from the hosts, bc one of them suggested roy keane, and i think he avoided agreeing with that bc it would maybe insinuate something about player attitudes or whatever. So he went with scholes instead. I think it's more interesting that he stops short of sticking it into city too much. He says "i hate them", because i think he wants us to hear him speaking like a football fan. We've never heard the glazers speak our language as football fans or as united fans. I think ratcliffe wanted us to hear him do that as quickly as possible. For us to just know he's one of us. But on the other hand he won't go as far as saying he wants to piss off man city with this 'wembley of the north'. He pulled back when the host suggested that. He also avoided digging in about the 115 charges a few weeks ago. I think he's just very very smart, and understands the value of having a little bit of diplomacy at this time, even with rivals. Whether because of omar borrada, or to get less resistance around stadium plans, or maybe he's just like that just as a general rule.. Maybe further down the line he'll come out for them swinging lol, but it doesn't serve him to be publicly attacking anyone right now. Not rivals, and certainly not his own players like casemiro.

Starting right CB, starting CDM, Backup striker, backup left footed CB that can also play left back imho. Antonia Silva, Andre, Callum Wilson, Hancko for instance. This if United doesn't have a lot to spend FFP wise.

Going to have to call bullshit on a few things here We have 2 decent usually fit rightbacks and 2 injury prone leftbacks....why wpuld we prioritise right back. Our midfielders are the following ages 27 30 31 32 18 and 24 If ineos prefer younger players again why isnt making our midfield younger a priority. We currently have 6 centrebacks. 30 31 28 35 25 18 again wouldnt we be looking at more than one centreback if varane and evans are out of contract and maguire and lindleof arent 1st choice A striker to battle it out with hojlund who is prem proven. Name 1 striker good enough happy enough to be the 50 percent starter Lastly. Greenwood maguire sancho wan bissaka mctomminay are all supposably up for sale. Where are the english players we arent being linked to? All seems nonsensical

@@Zeppelin180 It's all about FFP and prioritizing. If you replace Case you have the new one plus Maino and Bruno as starters. With back ups McTom, Eriksen, Hannibal, Gore, Mount and possibly Amrabat. So yeah maybe if have FFP left you should get a second one especially if lose a couple of those. It is just not as pressing as other positions.

I've got two problems with MU :1 - physical preparation / conditioning /// 2. dealing with injuries by medical staff. Injuries that for centuries took no more than several weeks , now take months and years ! What's is going on with eg. Martial ? 4 years (x) times 250 k/week = nowhere close to come back ? Young left back? Don't Utd have Alvaro Fernandez? There is Shaw, Malacia and Martinez and if get a left footed center back that can also play left back ala Ake you are fine. The issue was that all three got injured. Edit: Just read Alavaro Fernandez has a cheap option to buy so he is gone.

Spine of the team is the absolute priority. A quality CB, a backup CB/LB, a quality DM, and an additional striker to support/ back up Hojlund and be available and add some goals; unlike Martial. I expect the following to go: Varane (free) Lindelöf (10m) DVB (7m) Casemiro (25m) Eriksen (7m) Sancho (30m) Pellistri (8m) Hannibal (10m) + 100m (guess) transfer kitty = 200m to make 4 key signings. Would also look to bring in free agents: - Rabiot - Rafa And bring back Greenwood.

Too many key postions cant do a full season. Casimero, varane, shaw. We need to sell maguire, mctominay, Casimero, lindelof, Rashford, sancho, greenwood. Should get £200,000,000. Mainoo needs a new permanent partner in an 8 role, which i think should be fernandes as he has the engine and is press resistant. Use mount as the 10. Buy a left back and permanent CB with pace to partner Martinez. That leaves us martinez, varane, new CB, kwambala and shaw as CB's. Get olise and play him right with garnacho lw. Buy a striker.
