Buster Bloodvessel appeared on a BBC show called 'Never Mind The Buzzcocks' many years ago and I was lucky enough to be in the Green Room afterwards with a friend who really wanted to say hello to him but was nervous about approaching him. When she plucked up the courage he was the warmest, most welcoming guy you could ever hope to meet and really made her day!

Parade" - in one of those bizarre "Buzzcocks" moments where everyone clearly knew the answer but Mark Lamarr was taking the piss out of the format of that round by asking "Is it A...; B... ; C...; D....; or E.... *Buster Bloodvessel* !???"

song was about getting your heart broken, using "Special Brew" a beer drunk only by alcoholics here, as a pun. (addiction) Not letting the love leave. Tune is way more than fun, like all their tunes, besides Can Can. Real life stories in there brothers.

I went to see them in the late 90s; there was a ska night, with 3 bands (Bad Manners headlining, obvs) and in between acts, the venue played tracks from a ska compilation album. Seriously, there was hardly any gap in between tracks, even during changeovers. To start with, the crowd was sort of nodding along, but about ten minutes in, it was like a switch flipped and *everyone* started bouncing around like pogo sticks on a trampoline. Great fun, but we all suffered for it. Some got heatstroke and had to be carried away. Me? I managed to keep going until three songs from the end, when my right leg gave out. No warning, The first I knew about it was when I suddenly found myself on the floor, My left leg hadn't got the message yet, and was still gamely trying to dance out of sheer habit, blissfully unaware of the situation. Brilliant night.

Do you really believe that in 1980 young people didn't have easy access to alcohol, tobacco... speed, acid, cannabis... Heroin and cocaine was readily available too, if you wanted it... But speed and acid was rife back then. Good, clean acid was a lot easier to get in 1980 than it is now...

Having seen them in concert I can confirm that Buster is no fan of underwear, he is however a fan of mooning his audience. Busters chocolate starfish is not a sight for the faint hearted.

Bad manners were a guilty pleasure for loads of people I knew but wouldn't admit it. I'd happily say I've bought some of their stuff. What I cannot believe you haven't checked out much if any Madness yet. "Our House", "Baggy Trousers", "House of fun" to name but a few of their hits. They were renowned for their videos in the 80's.

they are still going i think, playing scooter rallies and ska festivals. saw them in 81 when i was 11. he did the whole gig in a only a pair of big y-fronts. was good. nerd fact is that buster bloodvessel was a character in the beatles film 'magical mystery tour'. dougie is quite slim now. and the harmonica player is called winston bazoomies, which is a great name

Buster Bloodvessel once accidently mooned the pope, he was getting heckled at a festival in Italy, so mooned the crowd not realising the pope was in the audience. You want more reggae meets two tone check out gentleman's dub club- "high grade" is a banger.

This was a song about the infamous beer called Special Brew which has a very high alcohol content 9% by volume made by Carlsberg, was brewed to mark the visit to the brewery by Sir Winston Churchill in 1950 also known as Tramp Juice as it didn't take much to get you drunk , that's why bad manners wanted a barrel of it Inthe song...
