Just wanted to say I think Sideshow's point about how we don't have a system where the whole region is being built up and only benefits that one team on top the pile misses the point of how valuable the support that is garnered by these teams over the course of their international run puts their region on the radar and that attention definitely trickles down to the other teams by virtue of more people paying attention to their region and the tangible support that comes with it. We think of Japan and how their region historically undervalues e-sports professionals or APAC teams with players who still have trouble opting into the scene because their support system at home has trouble buying into the idea due to a lack of precedence. On top of these, they also definitely serve as a good and effective metric for other teams in their region. Even their mindsets and overall visions get highlighted such as when Benkai I believe said in an interview that upon forming their team they really communicated to their newer members that what their building towards is International LAN events. What he said isn't new or a profound mindset but their success so far definitely adds weight to that ideology and sets the standard for other teams as to what kind of mentality to have. Definitely though Sideshow's point still stands and there is still a lot we can probably do in terms of uplifting regions as a whole.

Author of the reddit thread here! - thanks for the mention. I think the joyous whimsy buff IS the meta going forward. Astra and Viper's nerfs make stopping and controlling aggression much harder than before. Aggression and good fundamentals are rewarded now at a level they haven't been since the smeag era. I think PRX are an extreme example of totally unbridled aggression but I think Optic and ZETA are probably the median of the right amount of aggression for this meta. Agents like chamber, jett, neon and Kayo have to be played aggressively to get real value in this meta now. You made the point about mixwells chamber being too passive - I agree and it reinforces my point! The EMEA team with the best read on the meta are FPX as they played the most aggressively. G2 looked tragic to me, I just can't see it any other way. They lack firepower especially when nukkye isn't on a heater.

Can we get rid of the structure element talk about DRX. I feel as though their structure is fine and works when they're mentally fine. Its their ability to not control themselves and overheat. Which then makes them override their discipline and make individual mistakes. RB all the time when under pressure as a Jett felt as though he had to find a kill. Letting himself get put in position where he could be punished and let go of so much map control that he had controlled due to his fear of the enemy taking some of that control. A great example is of when he was in B Tower. When his opponents had taken control of mid and mail he would fight for it in a couple of seconds and open himself to lose to all of B tower, stairs and site. Another problem was just the roles. Buzz on Astra looked horrible. He constantly went for fights in a position he wasn't comfortable with. RB on Jett just feels like he can't go up against international talent like YAY, Aspas, Forsaken or Saya. Buzz however could AND THEY PUT HIM ON ASTRA INSTEAD OF JETT OR HIS CHAMBER ON SPLIT. RBs Raze is soo good, and they put him on Jett. Their problem isn't the structure but the role management, Agent comp (esp Split), Mentality (Give them a mental coach PLEASE)

You know for how much Josh talks about storylines it really really annoys me that the only meaningful competition is the international competition. Ask the guard how important it was to win NA, or ask teams that are never able to win their regions how important those tournaments are. I mean they literally spent all of last year saying seeding games dont matter since theres no benefit to the winners, and now that seeds do matter and teams do benefit the guys are now indicating they think the benefits are too much....

About trent and THE FRAUD, i mean THE GUARD about their young players not playing well and players like aspas doing well. Man it's difficult theyre kids and its all about personality i know aspas from a long time and that dude in particular is different, he's such a calm kid everything is simple for him and he's competing for a long time. Hes used to it since 9 years old he was playing starcraft 2 in high elos competing against great players. And about the guard it feels like its the first time theyre really competing it seems that valorant its their first game.

Okay Loud are great and all and I’d love to see them win it all, but there is one thing I have never heard anyone talk about. And thats just how meh the team name of “Loud” is and more importantly how shitty their team logo is. Its so ugly especially when you compare it to teams such as NIP, Vivo Keyd or the old Vikings. It’s just dumbfounding to me who came up with and then okayed a feckin green triangle. Its just no matter how exciting they are or how much I like them, I’m never going to want to buy a shirt with a big ol green triangle on it… But anyways Masters has been fantastic and I’d be happy if literally any of the remaining teams win, as I’ve had a blast watching them.
