I've been living with Medtronic pumps since 2005. Have had a few malfunctions every few years but it's important to realize those are inevitable as time passes. Can you think of any piece of technology that works non-stop for this long, doing something so intricate that wouldn't need maintenance every now and then? The devices I used worked as well as anyone can hope for and have been a great help to me regarding blood glucose control. Had used quicksets for a long time, at one point decided to try out this Sure-T thing. I had never used the sure-t and I will admit upon opening the set package for the first time I wasn't certain how to place it. This video helped me. It tells you EVERYTHING you need to know and then some. It's made so that even a monkey could do it. The placement process is explained in such a way that leaves nothing out simple as it may seem. I wouldn't listen to these whiners to be honest. The premise of the video is to show you how to place that infusion set on your body and it does just that. No one is going to mention this? Well, I don't agree with the rest of these commenters. Medtronic customer support have always been responsive and helpful as far as I'm concerned. Whenever I needed assistance or a device replacement should there be a malfunction they were on the level. Thank you Medtronic.

First of all, thank you for this video. It was helpful for me. I love using my Medtronic Paradigm pump, since July 2017. However, living in the small country Bulgaria, too far away from the civilized world, where customer service is mostly just a virtual term and big businesses are nearly all owned by seriously irresponsible and mainly profit oriented people, I now realized that I haven't received a proper training for using it at all. You should definitely start instructing your local representatives much more and better and supervising them much closer! I had about 15 minutes of training at the hospital, where I received my pump. I have further carefully read all the instructions provided in the package. But only today, for example, I learned the corect way to stick the cannula and the tubing to my body, i.e. how their openings point to each other and are not just stuck in vertical postion. And that's just one observation of many.

I have found one small issue with this video instructions. In the end, when explaining how to temporaraly disconnecting the infusion set it skips one small step. Before you start, you should go to the menu on the pump and suspend the delivery. This will turn off the pump delivery of insulin. Otherwise, while you are in the shower or swimming, the pump will continue to pump the insulin out and all the very expensive mediction will be wasted. I have been using the Sure-T infusion set for more that 5 years, now. One thing I have found during the insertion step. When you first insert the needle, yes, it will sometimes, but not always, sting a little. After the needle is in, there should be no more pain. When you smooth the adhisive for the needle part, you may again feel a little pain, deeper inside. This should go away very quickly. I have found that if the pain is very intense or does not go away, this site will be very uncomfortable and painful during the time the infusion set is in. You should pull it out and start all over again with a new Infusion set. You may only need to move a litle to stop the pain, but you'll learn more each time you do this.

I've been diabetic for 37 years. I've had 4 generations of Minimed pumps before the 670G. Been on the 670G since 2017. It is by far the worst device I have ever used. Constant alerts and beeping, the senors are always off by between 20 and 40 mg/dl. The menu system is the worst I have ever seen. The pump is significantly larger than the outgoing Paradigm model. It has cracked or malfunctioned on several occasions and I am now on my second replacement pump. I have one year left until the warranty is up and my insurance will let me switch to another pump. I'll never buy another Medtronic device again. I curse the thing every day.

This is a terrible video that doesn’t mention that you actually have to connect the 2 parts before you fill it up with insulin. Customer service at Medtronic also couldn’t figure out how to help me this. They are not that smart and can’t speak English.

Jill, I'm sorry for any confusion. Are you talking about connecting the reservoir to the infusion set? At the 2 minute mark in the video, the screen provides instructions that you fill the reservoir and then connect the tubing to the reservoir. If you're looking into something else, please email us at dhelp@medtronic.com and we'll see how we can help.
