Amelia doesn't have to do anything. It seems like mum just keeps asking or telling her to do something over and over. She does not do as asked but receives very little punishment. That crying squeal would something I would try to get rid of

I honestly feel so bad for Joe, even though he can be naughty, he is very aware of his feelings and is trying to comprehend them, but his family seems to be so focused on Harry with his tantrums and issues, as well as having to take care of the baby that Joe has been often overlooked until now.

None of these parents know how to do a proper time out. The child saying I’m sorry doesn’t end the time out. Of course they’re going to say that if they see it gets them out of trouble. I’m sorry just doesn’t cut it.

If Harry's 1st timeout at lunch was real-time it lasted 15 seconds. Dad was in a hurry to get back to his lunch. Joe would have received a lecture and done his full time followed by apologies to one and all if he broke the bowl.

Amelia's baby brother might seem oblivious to his older sister's apalling behaviour but he's noticing and absorbing everything and the chances of him acting similar in the future is very high. Let's hope the parents have learnt some vital parenting skills to nip it in the bud.

He may have acted out just to take some attention away from Amelia. Big sister's behavior likely got worse when a beautiful bouncing baby boy joined the family. It appeared she hit Lucas in the head with that drawer on purpose. Other than that and the wet fishes tantrum incident we were not shown any exchanges between the siblings were we?

I wish parents would stop telling their children that they have to love their siblings. No, they don’t! They don’t have to love them or even like them, but they are not allowed to hurt them. You cannot impose your will on your kids and demand that they love or like someone. It doesn’t work. I absolutely hated my sister growing up. She was a crazy maniac who made my life miserable. She drove our parents crazy and made home life a horrible, screaming mess. I haven’t spoken to her in many decades and probably never will. Just because they’re family doesn’t mean you have to love them.
@jlnioannou
@jlnioannou Жыл бұрын
Totally agree! I remember reading about it in one of the child-rearing books I had for my daughter as well. The psychologist who wrote the book said that if one of the children says he/she hates his brother or sister to accept his/her feelings and to not force love. Some siblings just don't get along or are close and that's just fine!
@lessehead
@lessehead Жыл бұрын
@@jlnioannou Yes, just because they’re siblings doesn’t mean they have similar personalities. Oftentimes, it’s quite the opposite! If they weren’t siblings, would they have become friends? If not, then they’re probably not going to get along as siblings, and that’s ok. Don’t make them share a room unless absolutely necessary. Parents should make crystal clear what behaviors are acceptable and what aren’t, with consistent rewards and consequences.
@marylyn66

In the case of some families the favoritism escalates the dislike. When Joe was laying on the bed getting told he loves Harry, guess who couldn't resist wandering in to see Mommy. Mom's tone changed instantly and her reply to Harry was "Yes my little darling." A few seconds before she had a much firmer tone with Joe. No wonder he wished to stay in the room on his own awhile longer. Then Prince Harry had to get an apology but it's OK if he doesn't accept it. If the tables were turned, would Joe have been allowed to cantankerously decline an apology from Harry?

Why does Jesse, a 2 yr old, still have a bottle? Kids should be done with bottles once they turn one yr and have started eating table food. And never allow a bottle in bed. It rots their teeth! This is child rearing 101. Treat them like babies and they’ll act like babies.

@lessehead
@lessehead Жыл бұрын
@@anaarbues9768 No reason for it. Toddlers don’t need to suck on liquids. They have teeth. They should be getting their nutrition from solid food. When they suck too much liquid, they’re not hungry enough at mealtime, so they’re not getting proper nutrition. Bottles are terrible for tooth and jaw development, causing cavities, speech problems, and other issues. You also want your toddler to act like a toddler, not like a baby.
