TO TACKLE THIS TRACK AND BEACH WE RECOMMEND YOU ARE EXPERIENCED
AT 4WDING , LIFT AND AT LEAST 33' TYRES.
TYRE PRESSURE SHOULD BE 10 PSI OR LOWER
LOW RANGE
TAKE RECOVERY GEAR
FOOD AND WATER
REMEMBER TO TAKE YOUR RUBBISH HOME WITH YOU

Local boy with a 2.8 diesel Pajero, low as tyre pressure and slow continuous chug gets me up every time, never had an issue. The best mate runs an ancient series 3 Landrover with a 202 red motor and he also leaves it in low gear and slowly chugs up without any issue. Slow and steady never fails at Bornholm, might be more fun going the speedy approach with the roar of modern horsepower but it really doesn't do the track any good for us locals who use it regularly.

Just another cowboy thinking 4 wheels spinning is the only way. Best way to stuff the track for everyone else.

That track was made by naturally aspirated, unlocked. old 4wds.

Yes, but that was when there wasn't 100 units a week chopping it up. Even Calcup hill on the Warren Beach, (SW WA) is one that everyone raves about now, but dad and his friends climbed it every 2nd weekend in an FJ45 ute, a 55 series Cruiser and a 3 cylinder Zook back in 1978. 😂

My grandparents stayed a lot at Noosa Heads in the 50's and 60's back when they could legally drive through the National Park to Alexandria Bay. First with a series1 Landrover, and then an FJ40 afterwards. If you have walked there today, you would know that it is a very steep climb up off the beach and soft sand in places. He never had any issues with their family of 7 crammed in the 4wd.

We were doing that track many years before mall cruisers came on the market. You would have to be an absolute knob or a safa to think only modern vehicles are capable.

@@BOGGEDACTION what psi did you go to..why did you not use locker all the time,as you should. its less damage to the track..a locker needs to be in the front diff, first..the front pulls you thru.. traction control, is for bitumen,,people use it on the beach & cant get off.. i run 10 psi, on any sand..mud. 15 rocks. 2001 4x4, no computer, tdi . 700nm.. fj,s are a prado with different body.if you want some info on mods..watch offroad hub..before, he modified it.. cv,s tie rods, by the dozen,,ifs is bs..i saw an fj roll, going real slow, over a 1ft slope..too square..2.8m wheel base, is the go..

Try Little Dip Beach in Robe SA during summer. THAT is likely the hardest beach to successfully drive in all of Australia. Its something like a 30 degree angle to the water in sand that goes down to your shin when you step on it.

What a croc of it, nothing to do with the age of the 4wd, it's ALL about the driver. My 1995 Troopy with swapped in 1HD-FTE and twin lockers would also eat this up. And mine isn't as ugly as the new crap like yours haha.

I have camped on that beach a few times & sometimes it is as soft as. From your video it looks firm. Never really had an issue gettin back up the hill. Then again I drop my tyres down to ten psi. Oh & the D22 Navara I had at the time didn`t have any diffloks.

all beaches are soft ,it all comes down to the right tyres the right pressures ,the right gearing and good driving any 4wd lo high range vehicle can drive it ,your not special remember there is a track down to the beach and when you get down there there is not 100,s of 4wd vehicles stuck there because they couldn't get back up

Yeah, he carries on a bit, a stock subaru forester would eat his fj up there, and without revving the piss out of it, as would older 4x4s without lifts such as defenders.

My truck wouldn’t fit up that skinny trail. Looked like a challenging one. If it looks steep on camera it’s normally steep.

Unless you're at 7psi, rear locker & foot flat in 2nd low... an overloaded 105 with the might of the 1hz will not make it.

1hz,,90kw,,there a joke, an old joke, from the 50,s.. i have a 4.2tdi, std 140 kw. 510 nm. with bigger turbo, now has 700nm..best jap 4x4, is the gu nissan, better wheel base &,,,,a transmission brake..something toyota deleted, & went yupi..

@@harrywalker968 More to a vehicle than "power". The two negatives of the 1hz dinosaur for everything else a propper landcruiser has to offer, that's hard to beat. Except Handbrakes that need adjusting every 3rd time you use it 🤣

Bloody typical another FJ just showing off hahaha nah good on ya i won't be taking me 2.4 mitsy down there till i get me locker fitted 😉 have a mate that says his pop used to do that beach old 1hz reduction gears 4 psi 1st low and crawl out not sure how true it is (he is a fisherman so talks it up a bit but a great story 😉

@@BOGGEDACTION &,,you do not,,go anywhere 4x4ing on your own without a front rear winch, & proper recovery gear..people die..especially in a tossed up computerized box..allways have water & food for 1 wk.. sat ph.. but then, your just a wk end worrier..
