Install Delta Shower Trim Kit (Faucet Valve & Handle, Tub Spout, and Shower Head)

The final valve and trim parts for the Delta shower faucet handle, tub spout, valve, and shower head are installed after the remodel tile work was completed. This project was part of the overall bathroom remodel for a "Jack and Jill" style bathroom.

Thanks for mentioning that the shower faucet trim ring has a foam seal to keep water from getting into the rough-out hole for the shower value assembly. I wondered about needing to out clear silicone around that trim ring.

No you do not. There is a seal underneath the plate that keeps water from going into the wall.

Never use tape when theres and o-ring seal. The threads are SAE straight thread and the tape can interfere with the o-ring.

When you finished putting on the handle for the Hot/Cold housing I saw it did not let you turn it all the way left and only towards the cold. How do you adjust that? Once it's screwed on do you PULL out on the handle to adjust the centring for hot/cold? if that makes sense.

The temperature adjustment stop is not allowing the handle to go further counter-clockwise . The stop is accessible once you remove the handle. It is a white disk that can be rotated. Just pull it straight out and rotate it. I have a video that clearly shows this. It is named “Shower water temperature adjustment on Delta faucet”.

The piece you threaded into the tub spout do you have the part number for it? I ordered the same trim kit but it didn't come with that piece.

They show 6 different spouts for the same trim kit. I guess they want to make it difficult. The spout I have is the RP19895. This part number must cover the spout and internal piece you are asking about because there is no part number for a separate internal piece. Hope this helps.

So question, I am purchasing a brand new house that is coming with standard Delta faucet bathroom shower equipment. We want to upgrade the trim for the shower. Online it says the Delta foundations has the R1000-UNBX shower valve body... the trim we want that is from delta and matte black and is compatible with the same R1000_UNBX. Will I still need the change the valve or can I just easily swap out the trim hardware since the valve body is the same

I am not 100% sure, but the new trim will probably fit on the existing valve.

At the 6:42 minute mark, you screw a black piece into your tub faucet. Do you know the part number for that piece? I've been in contact with Delta directly and they can't seem to help me. My tub faucet didn't have one of these, but the people at Delta said that it should come with it. If you watch the Delta KZfaq videos, this black piece comes already attached to the tub faucet. So their "how to" videos don't show anything or mention anything about having to attach these 2 pieces together. Did your tub faucet purchase come with these 2 parts separate? Thanks for any help you can provide.

You are the second person that had this same issue. They show 6 different spouts for the same trim kit. I guess they want to make it difficult. The spout I have is the RP19895. I can't remember for sure, but I think mine came together as one piece. Hope this helps.

@@FixItDepot Thanks for your reply. Delta says the same thing. That the internal piece should be connected to the faucet piece in the package. Either my faucet model doesn't come with that piece or Delta forgot to add this piece in the factory. Delta is telling me to exchange the box in the store and see if another box has it included. If it doesn't then Delta will apparently help me from there. Well done video by the way. Thanks

I am using a product called Rectorseal-5. It is good for both natural gas and potable water. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. It is important to make sure the sealant is compatible with the service.
