Awesome guys I love the 3800 V6 and I love that you guys give information on it! It's hard to find good information sometimes for the 3800 not many videos on here. So I really appreciate it when you do make videos on this!

You can use the smallest Cam bearing from a 440 engine set to block the rear balance shaft bearing hole. I machined mine to the same diameter as the old balance shaft bearing.

You can tell a lot about a performance shop by observing how clean and organized it is. I’ve worked in the best and seen the worst. ZZP scores 💯 +++. My OCD started kicking in when the cam was being coated with assembly lube with gloves on. I would be concerned about gritty dirt on the gloves and not being able to easily feel it. But I’m sure Bo used clean new gloves for a trouble free installation 🏁.

Wrecked my 04 lesabre(cosmetic. Engine and tyranny fine) car still runs and drive. A buddy offered me his 03 Bonneville, with a hard bottom end knock, for $100. Already got the knocker out the Pontiac, today my series 2 is coming out of the lesabre and going into the Bonneville. The Pontiac is in near perfect condition. Once I get it to factory form, I think my first step is going to be upgrading to the aluminum series 3 intake. That's only possible because of you guys. Keep up the great work guys. Earned a new subscriber.

Put the crank shaft gear in a toaster over and warm it up. That will slide on easy. Don't burn yourself.

You must be a magician bc the timing chain does not wiggle on that easily when the crank sprocket is fully seated. Unless there is an issue with the chain length bei g consistent. I tried doing it this way for two hours, and there was not enough slack in the chain to get the cam sprocket flush enough to slide on.

Are you able to heat the sprocket up in an oven or with an induction heater before installing?

watched a precious zzp video on cam selection, they recommended you run the 1.65” rockers to avoid top end damage due to how aggressive this cam is. the 1.65” rockers give plenty enough room for clearance, and are far from better than the stock rockers.

The image insert showing the 0 on the cam offset from the others. Is that because the Cam was advanced or dialled in ?

Is it bad that I was cringing when the crank sprocket was being tapped on? I took mine to the local machine shop and told them to make it fit like the original. (They had several cranks in stock to compare)

Have a question I have a L67 out of a 04 SS impala it was my uncles car and he is the original owner of it. He had the vehicle warrantied or recalled or something and a long block was installed is this going to affect anything can I still purchase the XP cam because that is the cam I plan on installing

Camshaft vids never install thee most important part. Camshaft bearings. Why? Am I missing something?

Fwd 3.6 lfx v6 will push 380hp and 315lbft of torque with just bolt ons and tuning. That is 100% factory engine. I see no need to deal with this pushrod dino when you have thousands of these 3.6 in impalas ect for cheap running around. And yes the 2012- up 3.6 is trouble free as long as you maintain them.Hey and you get the 6spd auto with this engine also, no 4t65e nightmare to deal with.

I've seen quite a few 12+ 3.6 shit the bed. This dino motor can be abused it's whole lifetime and still holds more reliability than the 3.6 and we're taking decades later... U must have a love or hatred for this motor if ya watched the vid. Maybe it was a rusty 3.4 setup gtp that got ya worked lol.

when you put a 3.6, along with it's 6sp tranny, into a car that had a 3.8 and 4t65e, do you need to change the cpu?

@@cocodog85 if this is a w body you might be able to just take everything from the donor car and switch it over to the other car but I'm not sure if it's an older model it may not work I'm not sure. If you were to go from a 3.6 W body Impala to a say 3.5 or 3.9 Impala you should be able to do Plug and Play just switch everything from one car to the other but like I said I don't know on the older cars if it's plug and play or not.

no way you should have to delete the balancer shaft ... the Vibration is going to be crazy and will lose power. should revaluate you double roller chain and gear

Doing it this way is nearly impossible ive put the crank sprocket all the way back like he said and now ive fukked myself because there is no way im getting the cam sprocket on (not enough room with the chain) ill need to somehow back off the crank sprocket Any idea how i can do that @zzperformance
