Thanks for documenting this process. I have a 99 3800 with this issue but intermittent while driving. I can tap it with back of my hand it sometimes comes back to life. Good old cold solder joints will do it every time. Been dealing with issue for years with computer monitors.

Hi Dave, I noticed you said you were from Goodman, Missouri. I love about an hour and a half from you. I have a 1990 Ward International that the instrument cluster is having similar problems with lights flickering and gushes not working as it should. Can I bring my cluster by for you to take a look at?

My gauges bounce around when I start my bus but are not accurate. I have no dash lights at all when I turn the lights on. (Blinkers work) Do I have to take the whole thing apart to change the lightbulb for the dash? I’m so intimidated by all the electronics😱. You make it look easy. You’ve been doing this for a long time. I don’t think I can do this. Never mind about answering my questions. I think I will pass this on to someone that knows what they’re doing.
