Tremendous footage. In 1971, I discovered Professional Wrestling Through Grand Prix Wrestling. Such great memories for me. 1970’s Wrestling was the best decade for the sport.

Unfortunately I only have the two episodes I uploaded and since no one was saving all their TV back then, this is probably all that still exists.

As I said. 1971 was the year I discovered Pro Wrestling. From 1971 to this very program. Eduard Carpentier and Johnny War Eagle were my 2 favorite wrestlers. Until I saw Chief Jay strongbow vs. the Shiek. Strongbows wrestling style was so exciting to me. That he became my favorite wrestler of all time. Because of that match. I can’t thank you enough for posting this video. And bringing me back. To such a great memory, for me. In my life. So Brilliant in every way.

Been a little distracted from working on footage lately but I am trying to get back to daily uploads again! If you appreciate seeing the rare wrestling footage and want more of it, sign up for the Patreon www.patreon.com/KrisPLettuce and help me fund my next footage purchase! KZfaq will not allow me to monetize this channel so the only money I make off this work is from the Patreon.

Wow, I had no idea full shows from Montreal existed this early! Someday, someone needs to pitch a Canadian wrestling docuseries to the CBC, if for no other reason than to expose the breadth of interesting (and probably totally unseen for decades!) footage that I suspect is sitting in their archives.

The CBC did not air wrestling, this is from CFCF-12 Montreal, an affiliate of CTV.

No crazy spots, just pure brutality and storytelling in the ring psychology.

Good show! I've always been an old school wrasslin fan and this video takes me back to the times when pro wrestling was fun. Sad for me to say, it's just not the same anymore. But to each their own. Thanks for sharing.

I remember when they were first introduced on the French telecast, I was expecting a fun babyface team (I was 8 back then) like an Asterix and Obelix gimmick...instead, they were a pair of dirty-looing, greasy-haired, arrogant heels...I was disappointed, to say the least ;)

More info: André Proulx is Tommy Seigler's opponent. Can't find much info on him, but the era and country matches with what I've found (If needed I can share the links for the sources) Alex Scuredis seems to be the name of Hank James' opponent. On the main event: Glen Sharkey & Al Bourgeois vs Andre Pelletier & Jackie Wiecz If you want help on naming wrestlers on your other videos, send me the links, and I'll do my best!
