We always take I-405N to I-5S to get to I-84E from 26E. Left after the tunnel rather than right.

Shame they didn't do OR-26 west from Beaverton, that's one of the most beautiful drives in Oregon.

I almost never use route 26 to go east, it's really cool to see this drive

I'm originally from Seattle, but there's just something that I like about Portland.

It's cool to have an Oregon video, I was waiting for that since quite a while. I-84 was originally planned to be I-82, but it was later changed as I-80N, before receiving the current designation, I-84 in 1977. In my opinion, Partland's traffic is also relatively bad, but slightly better than Seattle's traffic. Also, I'm sure you are aware of the Israel-Hamas war & this war will soon last for 6 months already. More recently, they bombed the Al-Chifa hospital, the biggest in Gaza. It lefts only ruins & some parts are burning, which is a good example of war crime. Since I'm not following this that closely, I can't really tell that much of yet. Still, I hope things gets better for Gaza as soon as possible.

Portland's traffic isn't great. Due the bridges and tunnels surrounding downtown, their road network is fairly constrained. Thanks for the comment.

I live in the Seattle metropolitan area. Our traffic is definitely worse than Portland, but Portland’s traffic seems really bad for its size. The traffic in Vancouver BC is much worse than Portland though, which is interesting considering it’s a slightly smaller metro area than Portland in terms of population.

@@kidlamborghini I've reviewed Seattle's traffic on AP's video on I-5 throught that city back in December 2023, but I'm less familiar with Vancouver (BC)'s traffic. As far as I know, it's also fairly bad, but it flows quite well outside rush hours.

Finally glad to see your first video in the state of Oregon! I've been waiting for this for quite a while now. Great video as always! Do you ever plan on filming any video in Europe sometime in the future, or will you remain in Canada and the United States?

I filmed a small amount of European content last fall. To be honest, the footage isn't great, so I'm not sure if and when I'll upload it.

I84 in Portland is similar to the Don Valley Parkway in the south end.

@@AsphaltPlanet1 Even Portland is much less congested than Toronto. Toronto is third worst behind Dublin Ireland and London UK.

Great drive! Why do you say "easterly", "westerly", "northerly", or "southerly" on the video descriptions and commentary in the video rather than "east", "west", "north", "southerly? Is this some Canadian English word style? I don't see any other road-geek KZfaqrs that say that.

Easterly, definition: adjective lying or moving in an eastward position or direction. "the captain ordered an easterly course" adverb in or towards an eastward position or direction. "when the wind's blowing easterly, go to the west coast" noun a wind blowing from the east. "the water was gray with the usual garbage the easterlies always brought in" seems correct enough to me.
