Type aside. In regards to personality in general, I hate when people base their whole identity/personality on their disorders or sexual orientation etc. Oh, you're gay/trans, nonbinary etc? We get it, you(not you) have a personality disorder. IDC what people want to do in their private lives or value but when you force the crap onto others looking for special treatment, validation or something, it's a problem.

@@BasedGodEmperorTrump "When you force *your* crap onto others *because you think you deserve special treatment, wanting to control others or are seeking validation it's a problem*" I agree. But I also hate when people base their identity on and conform to a specific political/religious GROUP. There is a criteria you have to meet/subscribe to in order to fit into the group, and the principles of said group are regurgitated over and over again until they become redundant and ineffective in any positive way. Instead of looking for resolutions that include all people, or see the world as a whole, they are only interested in and consumed by identity politics and tribalism.

As an INTJ, I have the tendency to dismiss other people’s compliments towards me, since I do not believe I’m as good as they think I am. I also struggle to actually do things I set out to do, and I’m terrified of failure.

"It's sometimes hard for them to start things, but they will die finishing it." Yeah, that definitely describes me. Also, as an INTJ, one of my stress triggers is when people want to do things unplanned or when I make plans and they fall through. Being spontaneous is definitely not one of our strengths. We can make quick decisions in a crisis if we need to, but we'd rather have 15 contingency plans to deal with any surprises that pop up. Planning is what we're good at, so we're naturally anxious when there's no plan or the plan fails and there's no contingency.

I dated an INTJ woman. I'm an INFP male. We were a surprisingly compatible couple. I could sense she had an inner world, as I do. We played up the introvert thing, choosing quieter date venues and spending time in silence. And, yeah, I eventually found her emotional side. We enjoyed our time together.

This hits home much more than the "cold, calculating, doesn't care about other people's feelings"-typing I've seen around. As an INTJ I find I often avoid displaying emotions or voice my feelings just anywhere/to anyone almost out of a sense of protecting myself, and instead opt to argue my points from a logical place. And although I do value and appreciate my alone time and need it to recharge, I also do love being around people - especially the people I love. But don't spring surprise visits on me. I need to plan! 😩

Cant say about other personalities but most depictions of INTJ are spot on. We are also corelated to Sigma personality and typical villain. Not shoving emotions except anger. People cant read us as we struggle to read others making us mysterious and not trustworthy. We are very loyal and caring in more unexpecting ways. Like we dont buy flowers and pointless gifts on (for us) stupid holidays but find our loved ones a perfume that they will use for the rest of their life because they love it. We think a loth but can also have empty mind and meditation comes naturally to us. Value silence and peace.

Apparently I'm INTJ. I feel that as I've gotten older I've outgrown those insecurities, and have learned my own worth. But still forvever seeking to improve myself from where I am. I was nodding my head with most of what you said. The emotional thing particularly hit, as I often say "I barely understand my own let emotions, how am I supposed to understand anyone elses?". Well done.

I agree absolutely with your emphasis on the discrepancy of how deep INTJ emotional life is vs. Their stereotypical perception of being cold and distant. I watched a few of these videos and you got it absolutely right 👍 Yes, INTJs have a complex and vivid emotional making. It is often a source of deep suffering, or opposite, absolute elation. Either way it's common for us to be overwhelmed by emotions. That is why a common strategy is distancing and emotional suppression, its a survival mechanism for young INTJ. The Fi function is a source of a lot distress earlier in life. It is also where we can get stuck in a negative loop of self doubt, regret, self pity. Supressing emotions or repression of memory, also known as PTSD,impairs cognitive ability as it is paired with Ni. I do understand myself enough now to confirm that utilising Se function is a key to strike a healthy balance. It might be Friedrich Nietzsche's famous walks, or Isaac Newton's plunge out to contemplate in nature. It can also be a physical activity that strengthen connection between body and mind. Either way, this is very volatile personality type that is prone to being unhealthy. Therefore we should remember to think of ourselves as the project numero uno, managing this mess is no easy task at first.😂. Mature INTJ will have a understanding of how to manage emotional response, will understand and have a healthy emotional inner workings.

Hello from an INTJ! I appreciate the breakdown. I've known about MBTI for a while, but only recently started looking at it more in-depth. I've seen a lot of representation of the "cold calculating" aspects that's left me questioning if I really fit the typing, as I've always felt a deep and visceral emotional draw to various arts, especially storytelling, and to love/romanticism. I've even been described as a hopeless romantic by multiple people, which hasn't seemed to fit any portrayals of INTJ's I've seen, despite being the most consistent typing I've received. Your explanation adds missing pieces to the picture that creates for me a more holistic and accurate picture of how I feel as a person. Thanks for the insight!

My biggest fear (and the reason why I hate it) has always been that I might be misunderstood in new social groups/environments (e.g. new job) because everything I do, say and address seems weird and somehow unworthy of thinking/talking about, or just not funny to most people because too sarcastic/black humour. As a child I was told I knew no boundaries, was hyperactive and "know-it-all", in short: annoying. So I quickly learnt to keep my mouth shut, put on social masks and be happy with myself and plan and play the things that make me happy... And to secretly look for all the weirdos like me to befriend. And sometimes, soooooomeeeeetimes a few probabilities later, even a blind hen finds a grain on the ground 😎🥂✊😜

I am a mature INTJ who constantly focuses on self-improvement and personal reflection, but as my emotional life has grown, I am rapidly viewing emotions - both my own and those of others - as real physical tangible things. Particularly when developing mental models of a close partners behavior, it is critical to understand their emotions. We often battle with the decisions that others make, especially when they go against our will, but if you examine someone's ability to express free will, you really must examine their place in Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. If you want your partner to be perhaps a little more accommodating with their decisions and emotions, examine where they stand on the hierarchy, and find ways to raise them to higher levels of self-actualization, which may give them the room to make decisions more in line with our hopes - especially when our hopes and desires are focused on the partnerships greater good and further deepening and develoment.

I'm a trainer and have had to work a lot on my social connection skills. People need stuff like comfort and reassurance (probably even me), but it takes a conscious effort for me to remember to offer it. But it's also incredibly weird to see their perceptions of you when you successfully make that connection. I have agents who tell me nice things about myself that I don't necessarily agree with, but I certainly appreciate.

I'm a female INTJ, and wow! I love how you described us, esp the inferior Se. As I am more on the adult side (25+), I observe my Se developing, hence I want to give others a good time and be a jester at times. I think younger INTJs would have more difficulty to be "out there". This description described what I was struggling with these days particularly on the Ni dom: that we have difficulty starting, but then once we are in the game, we are IN the game (tendency to bulldoze the work). Thank you so much for your effort put on this video. I appreciate it as I am tired of these stereotypes where INTJs cannot like cute things (Child Fi who?), use emojis, be enthusiastic, etc. I cannot imagine how ppl warp themselves to be the "type" when we still have to have our own sense of identity at the end of the day.

INTJ here. spot on. Was often called uptight without humour plus with the resting bitch face 😂 dark humour is not something everyone appreciates. It is true that we might be sitting still but inside I am already unravelling the complexities of life...the spiderweb is something not to be afraid of...it is something that i enjoy going through bec it is from the difficulties that growth and learning can be achieve proficiently. The interplay of psychology, philosophy and reality is soooooo fun but to others who cannot comprehend or not on the same wavelength of growth in that aspect...an INTJ is uptight, calculated and indifferent.

Sounds accurate as far as method of internal processing. Enneagram also has a huge influence on desires and driving influence though. I for example am an INTJ 5wing4 which makes me far more emotional, philosophical and artistic than standard INTJ's. Most INTJ's tend to be 5wing6 and they appear very practical, professional with mostly technical/scientific interests. Think Wednesday Adams (INTJ 5w4) vs Elon Musk (INTJ 5w6). There is a Dark Prophetic aspect to the INTJ 5w4 and a Technical Genius aspect to the 5w6.

This is generally very accurate: "foresight and vision"; "knowledge and competence". However, I have found that seeing - and telling - the "Big Picture" seldom persuades others. I have literally seen a person or situation heading toward danger and/or evil, yet found no one who would listen; after that evil or danger manifests, no one comes to me to tell me that I was right. (Some of those outcomes included crimes, including one incidence of first-degree homicide.) Since I started watching these MBTI videos on the INTJ, I have thought I should change my name to Cassander (the masculine form of Cassandra, the cursed woman who was always correct, but never heeded). I rarely even try to warn people anymore; I am beyond weary of being ignored.

I'm not entirely sure I buy into MBTI, wholesale. I think with anything, we can push things too far and create almost a cultic mindset. The fact is, personality types are constantly in flux and change throughout one's life, and can be affected by trauma, health, environment, etc. Anyway, you're really cute.

Is not that it is hard to start things, it is just that when you look at the big picture and pre analyse how something will pan up, most things are not worthy of starting because the chance of succeding is extremely low. Is not that they don't care about others' feeling, it is an impossible waste energy and invasion of privacy to try to figure out others. I don't think INTJ want to control things, it is just that we are aware of what is under our control and what is not. It is illogical to be concerned with what is out of one's control.
