What is Google Tag Manager? In our Google Tag Manager for Beginners course, we are going to slowly introduce you to this powerful Tag Management tool. In this video, you are going to get a quick overview of the core functionalities as well as an understanding what GTM is used for.

Would you recommend hardcoding the GTM and FB Pixel codes onto the site? I followed the instructions for your Facebook Pixel setup and I do not see the FB Pixel or GTM coding in the page source view.

Okay i think im starting to get it. I have a website and it not shopify. My products have picture and a button that says buy here. If i follow these steps i will see each person who click on the button right? But what the difference on knowing if the click on the button vs affiliate tracking where is show now many click thr button. Then was directed to them?

Having just attempted Google's own Tag Manager tutorial in via their Analytics academy, I was completely confused three videos in after they moved from 'Here's how to log in' to 'Just write up some Javascript code real quick' in the space of one video. This video was measured and easy to follow however. I feel a little less lost now, thank you!

can someone explain why I am not seeing the tags fired in preview mode? then when I click to check on the Tag Assistant chrome helper extension, it says 3 total, one is green which is the global site tag, and 2 are blue, the GA, and GTM.. then i click to investigate and it says this on the blue tag "GTM no-script code not found: either missing or not in "

Note on the "preview" feature. If the debug window does not appear at the bottom of your website after a hard refresh of your site, be sure that you are NOT blocking third-party cookies on your site, and more importantly, the tag manager site itself. I struggled with this for a while as I was clicking preview but it was never showing it was in preview mode nor on my website. Orange banner at top of tag manager site needs to appear.

Can you answer my question,..i want to install GTM and ofc to instal GA and Fb pixel,and much more...those codes are already installed previously on Web site and my question is, is it safe to erase old ones, or there is a safer procedure not to lose all history data in process,...if i leave those old codes and install same ones thru GTM,...is there going to be double reading of same data? The video is very easy to understand. I wanna ask how can we test & track if GTM works on web app? I read lots of tutorial article but 100% of them are doing on a desktop view. My team is going to make a web app trading game for students, but it's allowed to use from mobile only. Now I need to figure out how to set up GTM, GA, GG Optimize... but I'm new to this. I hope you can share with me some tips or guides. Thanks a lot.

Hey, thanks for the content, your whole channel is awesome. I have one problem with the Add to Cart event though. I've set it up like you've said in the video, and it works fine as long as someone adds a product to cart from the product page. But I also have a quick quick shop option, where a small pop-up with product details shows up instead of redirecting you to a product page. If the user adds the product to cart from the quick-view pop-up, the event doesn't register. Do you have any tips on how to solve this? Thanks.

As for Google Tag Manager Account, I think the country don't matter that much. However, the country, timezone is very important in Google Analytics account. Hope it helps.

Hey Julian! Excellent video! I have a question. Can you install multiple Facebook pixels (for agency clients) on a single Wordpress Site, and use GTM to specify each Facebook Pixel to only fire off on certain pages of my site for tracking purposes? In theory, I am trying to create landing pages for my clients on a wordpress site, and drive facebook ad traffic to them, and track each page's pixel according to the client. I will need one FB pixel for each landing page. So if I have 10 clients running 5 landing pages each, I'll need 10 FB pixels installed on a single WP site monitoring 50 respective landing pages. Would this be possible with GTM? Hope you will reply! Thanks!

Thank you for your video. I am quite keen to see your other ones. I have a question (ich schreib das mal auf Englisch): I set up the Tag EXACTLY like you do it in this video in GTM. Now the tag is visible in the preview mode of the site but under "not firing" (and therefor not visible in GA) - I have no idea why. Are there things I should check?

yes, click on the tag and scroll down. It will show you the trigger and where the trigger failed

In theory, GTM allows you to dramatically increase the page load times. You can take all of the Javascript on your site and trigger it from GTM. So you can replace many scripts with the one script. If you really want to increase the speed, you might need to look other ways to increase the page speed, like choose good server with awesome caching, minifiy html, css, javascript.....

I have a question. Why record event "add to cart"? And do you have a video tutorial on how to record order conversion? Orders, goods, value? I've been trying to figure out how to set up GTM for eshop conversion for three days :(

I have a question: you mentioned that the snippet of GTM is a Javascript code, what if my CMS does not support Javascripts? Do you have any work around on this? Is it possible to have a HTML code instead for that script? Otherwise as it looks now I am not going to be able to install GTM into my website 😔Thanks for your any feedback and help!

no, adblock is adblock. If they are using it then Facebook might be blocked

When I put this tag inside the template I get this error. Error parsing XML, line 17, column 43: The reference to entity "l" must end with the ';' delimiter. What is the solution to the problem, please? congrats, I am a big fan of your work, nicely done! I am struggling with my tag specifically after someone conatacted me gthrough my website. I have a "thank you for contacting me page" that I use as a trigger for a "contact me " tag, but my regular "page view"/all page also fire. How can I avoid double count?

depends how your trigger is setup. There are different techniques. You could use a cookie, but I'm not sure it's worth the trouble

Thank you for your information! However, I am confused. I have a new website. It is www.glamchicartgallery.com. I have Google Analytics including my tracking ID Code. Anything after that is CONFUSING. Such as, Global Site Tag and Google Tag Manager. Recently, Google sent me notification saying: "My property Glam Chic Art Gallery is not receiving hits". "The site is not receiving sessions or it is not tagged correctly." Google ask me to paste the several lines of my programming code on each page of my site using Global Site Tag. Yes, I see my code, but what are the "exact steps" to paste it?? It is not happening for me. That part is complicated. Should I paste it? I don't believe I have Google Tag Manager on my site either. Should I do both?? Should they both be pasted onto my site? Next, if I put Google Tag Manager on my website will both items conflict with each other?? Please advise me on what I should do. I activated Google Analytics on my WordPress and suddenly I have a Google tag I can use and I don't know why, when, what, how, where. Everything is code language these days, literally! It's so difficult.
