TEST NOTES: - The standard drops (back, corner, and face) are conducted from 1m onto a concrete block. - The "bonus" drops are meant to test impact and shock resistance, therefore are conducted from 1.45m onto a smooth steel surface. - The bonus "bonus" round is conducted from 1.45m onto a concrete block. - The footage of the Note 20 Ultra was from our previous drop test.

@@user-km2yr7oj6q 1. 60 hertz makes no difference to me on a tiny display 2. The notch is completely your preference, for me I like the notch a lot better than a hole punch 3. expandable storage is SO MUCH slower than UFS internal storage 4. iOS is really good, sounds like you’ve never had an iPhone

@@user-km2yr7oj6q the notch is a preference and in fact, I love the notch. 60Hz yea, but it has more colors and higher brightness which means better HDR. Expandable storage has never been a thing on iPhones and never will be. And what do you use expandable storage for? I’m really curious if you even use it. And what’s wrong with iOS? At least I can use the same phone for 6 years and still be on the latest software if you catch my drift.

Nobody wants ugly scuffs on their phone's frame. A case is a must but a screen protector is not needed.

@@Mlordy No I really don't think that's it, phones stay at around 20-25°C (god knows what that is in Fahrenheit) and in your hand they can get up to 35-40°C, 40°C only while doing something processor intensive. We're talkin about materials that start to get malleable at hundreds of degrees or more (depending on the material) so that temperature change will not affect its structure much at all. And by the way materials become more brittle and prone to cracking or breaking as the temperature goes down, so having your phone in your hand for a while before it fell would actually help, not by much, but it certainly wouldn't be worse.

In the first test they are using their old note 20 ultra which had already cracked its back glass in their last video 'note 20 ultra vs iphone 11 pro drop test'.......they don't give an honest review

It’s amazing how those huge phones can survive those drops. They are heavy and basically full glass. Few years later phones shattered like crazy. Yes, the “scratch resistance” is lower, but I can easily trade that for the increase drop resistance. You can always use screen protector and chance them often to get rid of scratches. It is much easier to do than repair the whole display which could shatter even under the protector back in the day.

Actually half of the credit must go to the frame which is risen a little bit thus making contact with the ground first and screen barely touches the smooth surface though story could be different in rough surface

Sure, they are cheaper options, but to pay 20 dollars for a good case is a great deal. I usually end up with more pricier cases just because most of those cheaper ones are trash. I don’t need a 900 dollar phone to look ugly just because I cheaped out and bought a case from aliexpress for 3 dollars which turned yellow like 2 hours after I took it out of the box.

@Maître Manta actually, I’ve seen some tests, and the results came back as around 1.4 times better than years. Pretty impressive stuff. Kinda bummed out the back glass isn’t ceramic shield though.

Let's not so easily gloss over the fact that why they were made fun of is because they sold a phone that bent in customer's hands, that internal documents that came out during a massive lawsuit they lost showed they knew had the capability of bending under light stress but denied anyway.

@@ethoshrimp8190 The notch gives me something called FACE ID with infrared and Dot projectors, something No android Phone has. Multi tasking is scientifically proven not possible. But if you really want to do 2 things apple added Picture in Picture mode just in case. And its 2020 my friend. My old Samsung galaxy s4 mini from 2013 is sleeping in the drawer for a very long time :)

@@bodigames Samsung has ultrasonic fingerprint which goes in tge display without the need of a notch. Plus you can unlock it without turning on the phone making it quicker. It's the only company with this kind of fingerprint sensor. Apple actually made Face ID after a failed attempt of adding in display Touch ID

I upgrade every year and I'm glad they kind of started this whole special color thing. Everyone by now has had either the traditional Space Grey, Gold, or Silver, and it's nice they have something that stands out. I would however, like the Product Red to become one of the Standard Colors though. When they first launched the 8 Plus with the Black Front and Red Back, it was the best color combo imo.

The fact that the front of the Note 20 Ultra doesn't crash is not only due to the Gorilla Glass Victus, but mainly to the design and mostly cause of the thicker rounded corners, which absorb the fall. With the S21 Ultra it's no longer that rounded, so the glass breaks much earlier. *The iPhone has a perfect design for durability.* *The stainless steel surrounds the ceramic shield Glass so well that it can in fact withstand any impact.* *I love my 21 ultra, but I take my hat off to the iPhones Durability 👍*

Why weren't back drops tested as extensively as front? That's the most common repair for phones, and one Apple can charge half the price of the phone for.

It is actually slightly improved. Scratches are still as possible as before to occur but the look more faint and aren’t as deep as last year. I think the iPhone 12 is the most scratch resistant glass phone ever made. If you want 0 scratches to occur you need to use ceramic or sapphire.

Don't forget...the note has a curved screen...Having a curved screen means the phone is fragile...still it managed to go so far...I hope they'ld do better next year

I phones are really durable Once my uncle's i phone x dropped from his pocket while he was riding a bike in an highway , before he went back to pick the phone a large truck gone over it but it still didn't even crack

Glass will always break. If you yeet that phone into a brick wall odds are it will break. This is a simple law of physics. Also, no drop is 100% identical, Apple is on to something with Ceramic Shield, but a small imperfection on the glass can cause it to break. Or even hitting a pressure point can cause it to break.

its something to do with design as well. Samsung front glass is more exposed outside because of curve and design. while iphones steel frame is slightly raised which makes the screen less exposed .probably the screen is not even touching the ground because of the raised frame.

I think drop tests are just unpredictable, always different results no matter how exactly you recreate the last one, it's more of a hypothetical test, but it's kinda reliable, either way, always keep a case on your phone!

Its not the glass that made the difference its the fact that the phone is flat, that makes the difference, where the Galaxy is curved glass. It has more impact points of it breaking easier. Its not the innovation of the glass that saved it.

Even if the Iphone screen was curved, it still would’ve won because it’s glass IS actually much tougher (and at the same time more scratch resistent) than gorilla glass victus. Also, what about the fact that the Note is significantly lighter than the Iphone?
