In this video I test Magsafe Charging speeds with Apples 20 Watt USB-C Charging brick and I compare it to Apples 18W USB-C charger and Anker Nano 20W charger to see how much longer it takes if you use those instead.
I also compare iPhone 12 Pro Magsafe charging against using old usb-A 5W charger, a standard Qi 7.5W wireless charger and USB-C Lightning wired fast charging to see how long it takes and if Magsafe is worth it for your iPhone.

Although as a car mount charger it will be a vast improvement in simplicity to plugging in a lightning cable like I’m currently doing.

I appreciate the effort in the review!. What he conveniently left out however, was temperature control. I’d be curious to see if the anker results in a reduction in battery longevity due to the higher temperatures. I doubt it’s resulting in more heat than the lightning cable but it would be neat to see the battery health of 3 phones with the same usage 1 year later that were charged exclusively with each method. I know that’s not feasible but it would be neat.

I think there's a chance that a software update might allow the phones to accept more current for longer, to make the 15W wireless closer to the 18W wired. Higher charging speeds via wireless charging also creates more heat, especially as the batteries are charged more.

Why does everyone keep saying this. If Apple removes the charging port then they will literally turn their phones into immpentrable bricks forced to use ineffecient and slow methods of data transfer and basically any and all connections. The charging port is used for WAY WAY more than just charging. It's pretty much the only connection iPhone's have to the rest of technology (and the fastest and most efficient). Apple would actually need to be the Devil to even attempt that and iPhone users would need to be brainless sheep to still buy that.
@LinkinRepublic
@LinkinRepublic 3 жыл бұрын
@@vullord666 I’ve found a lot of success in airdrop and iCloud Drive. I don’t even need to transfer anything if it’s in the drive. And if I do, I’ve got gigabit internet so the hard drive speed tends to be the bottleneck more often than you would think.

because it is. Samsungs "fast charging" also takes about 1.5 hours. Fast charging is always about fast charging from 0-50 or sometimes 0-70% and then slows down to protect the battery... charging from 0-100 at full speed would be extremely stupid. Short answer: the fastest way is to use the 16'' MacBook Pro charger.
@MaxTechOfficial
@MaxTechOfficial 3 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately no, that doesn't support the latest USB-C PD Protocols that Magsafe needs. You'll get slower charging with that 97W charger than this 20W charger that only costs $16 and is TINY (Amazon)➡ geni.us/oqUIi

Just a heads up, leaving your phone on the charger all night and letting it get to 100% battery every day will make the lifespan of your battery much shorter

“Wireless” charging is pointless, still needs a wire anyway and it is much slower than a proper wired fast charger.

agree. what's the problem with the old way of charging via cables? are people really that lazy to use a plug?
@ben_csk
@ben_csk 3 жыл бұрын
No, but if you wanna use it in your lap while charging, the cable will likely bend over time, MagSafe eliminates that. But agree, it could be more wireless

Charging speed probably don’t matter to those who looked into wireless charging, but having a cable really doesn’t make things beneficial. It’s the road to a portless iPhone I guess.
