This is the correct tutorial. Other tutorials that include the removal of the mother board, camera, etc., include steps that are not only unnecessary but increase the risk of accidental damage to parts that should never be included in this repair. Unlike several other videos, it also shows the all-important reassembly which is kinda helps if you enjoy in iPhone that turns on. Good Job CRAZYPHONEStv!

Just did this - yes, 9 years later! - and it worked perfectly. Great video and much simpler than some others out there (that tell you to disconnect way more than you need to). Took me about 15 minutes all in, phone now charges! Woo hoo!!

I followed all the steps and now my audio is back! Apple told me the phone was useless and I'd have to shell out $200 to get a new one. I spent $10 on the new dock and 2 hours of my Saturday. Sounds like a better deal to me...! The only difficulty I had was to slide the back cover back on. It was not sliding down smoothly. I got it to work at the end though. Thanks

Ese crazy Locs - That's something I made. It's a piece of plastic with some double adhesive tape (you can use magnetic tape) and numbers.

This is best tutorial I've saw most of them require you to remove the motherboard but thanks a lot mate really appreciated

Hi Juan, first of all check if your date and time it's updated if not do it manualy and after that just remove and insert your SIM. If still doesn't work check if the antenna cable is properly connected and the cable is not broken.

Followed your 'replace the charging cirucit' video and now good as new, total outlay £6.50 for charging circuit (£2.99 plus postage!). Only two constructive comments, the connector retainer screws are DIFFERENT SIZES, (you do say this but I missed it) keep them separately and the small gold ribbon connector goes IN the slot UNDER the connector which is hard to see in the video 9or the phone without an electron microscope. otherwise, merfection. Before finding this, I too had found a tutorial that had included removing the mother board, it wasn't very clear and didn't cover re-assembly. I basically gave up about 70% through the procedure, and virtually finished re-assembly thinking I was going to send the phone off for repair. I then found this link which covered everything much more clearly. Many thanks - you saved me a fortune! One question, where do you buy the screw organsisers? I have looked on a certain auction website, but can only find 'Screwmat' which is model specific. Many thanks.

So I've been having the infamous volume problem. The volume works when ever it really wants to. I thought it was the speakers so I replaced that but it still didn't work. Now I'm reading that if your dock connector is dirty it tricks the phone into thinking that it is docking so no volume will come out of the phone. Is this true? If I change the dock connector will the phone stop having volume issues?

Hi jungernord, I think you probably dislocated the home button ribbon cable from its place (it's not common but sometimes is happening). To fix that you need to disassembly your iPhone again including the screen and probably replace the cable.You can follow our video "iPhone 4S Home Button Replacement Disassembly and Reassembly".

ok so I have a iphone that I baught but don't know either its a 4 or 4s so I havnt baught the dock connector the iphone dosnt have the sim card slot where its supposed too so im guessing its a cdma but im not sure about it being 4 or 4s I got it really cheap because the dock connector wouldn't charge the phone when I press down to power it on it turns on with the battery very very low so it turns of like in 3 seconds I already tried getting it fixed for the charging cable but I told the guy it was a iphone 4 he opened it and put on the iphone 4 dock connecter but it didn't charge so he changed it again but it still wouldn't charge he finally changed the battery to see if it was the battery but I think it works fine because it still turns on and off with out the dock connecter in place is there a difference between a iphone 4 and a iphone 4s dock connecter because if that's the case I would like to try and get it fixed with a iphone 4s dock connector

Update: Sound works fine now! It took a couple hours for the phone to adjust to the new dock connector. Thanks!
