Ukraine upgraded all of the Iranian Mil 17 helicopters not that long ago. That man really loved his bell 212. To the point that Iran had an entire wing of espionage to keep it and other aircraft operational. That be a good episode all in itself.

I'm surprised that you didn't mention khamenei's son as the potential successor to his father. From what I've gathered khamenei has been trying to push for that. Also I don't think Ahmadinejad would even be considered given his not so good relationship with the ayatollah.
