Really helpful but - if that is my problem (and the way you’ve described yours is spot-on), I’m annoyed because this is a relatively new Roomba. It’s one of three, so it doesn’t get treated particularly harshly. Very vexing! Thank you!

Oh no! Yeah for a newer rarely used one that is vexing. Is it y see warranty still? Maybe you can return it. Ours was going three times a week for two years before the issue started cropping up!

The item can be fixed, just cleaning all the cleaning head. But if the problem persist then change the cleaning head.

I fixed my error 26 by taking a shopvac to the filter, which cleans any clog/dust between the slits of the filter. Good luck

Good tip. This is certainly a “when all else fails” situation, which it was for me.

Of course you can use. Just use torque limiting and there will be no problem at all.

I'm thinking of replacing the whole thing like you did in this video.. the little latch thing that holds the rollers in has broke, although it still is held together by some rubber, I know it's going to fall off soon. The little latch thing is 45 bucks at the cheapest and this is around 60 bucks so it's kind of a no brainer if it replaces other parts too.

Fixed the error on my i7 Is the motor working too hard to turn the fan blade? I opened up everything to get to the dowel of the fan blade. I tried turning it by hand a bit firm when I did. The dowel which has approximately 3 washers (two are together) on it. After removing all of them, I put 1 drop of oil and graphite powdere onthe dowl where each one of the washers isand where they touch each other or the housing. (especailly important is where the dowel attaches to the plastic housing) After this I put it all back together and turned it again by hand which moved more freely than before. It has been working GREAT ever since. Hope this helps

When mine does it's little start procecdure before cleaning I noticed the roller brushes but not the vacuum blower - This is why I went down this path and this video gave me confidence to open it up. Irobot did a very nice job making this unit so modular and easy to work on. Mine must be a bit different as you described but I could hear the impeller rubbing as I turned the motor. Everything on mine seemed pressed together and I didn't want to fully disassemble the blower as it might throw it out of balance. I just pulled firmly on the rotating part of the motor and checked repeatedly until the squeek went away. It didn't take much.

I wouldn’t. If you have no alternative just go really really really slow. You don’t want to strip the screws or damage the plastic.

Is it possible to do maintenance on the cleaning head module and get it running without replacement? Maybe taking it apart and cleaning it or something?

It’s certainly worth a go! Just remove give it a decent cleaning. See if that works!

I just took my i1 apart and the motor fan was kind of tough to turn. Cleaned the dust from the center and q tipped some oil in the hole. Works for now!
