Definitely, he has less ties to the series so less conflicts of interest at play, and he's the most knowledgeable there has been thus far on the show.

Andy was right. The Marvel vs. Star Wars question was such a waste. There are so many different, awesome match ups they could've come up with - such as, but not limited to.... Magneto vs. Darth Vader Wolverine vs. Darth Maul Thing vs. the Rancor Deadpool vs. Boba Fett Nightcrawler vs. Yoda Groot vs. Chewbacca

Iron Man vs Boba Fett would be better, considering Deadpool has a ridiculously fast healing factor and can teleport using that belt of his. The rest are pretty good.

I would love rocket & groot w/ yoda at 1st yoda Hates them and vice versa but then each grow to love each other then have groot be kidnapped by thanos and thanos kills groot yoda doesn't know what to do doesn't matter rocket goes after him anyway thanos kills rocket finally what I think would be cool in the end yoda vs thanos!?!?! All of the fights you listed are horribly one-sided. Magneto destroys Darth Vader, Maul wrecks Wolverine, Thing dominates Rancor, Deadpool easily wins against Boba Fett, Yoda crushes Nightcrawler, and Groot beats Chewbacca.

I've only seen this one episode of his, and Scott Mantz has already become one of my favorite panelists on _Movie Fights_ right now. His vibrant knowledge, seemingly-endless enthusiasm, and great sense of humor is incredibly captivating and he can make you completely change your opinion with each coming round. I really hope he comes back for more!

that would be the most one-sided fight of all time. The Phoenix is one of the most powerful beings in the entire Marvel Universe, and even average heroes would be able to beat Darth Vader

Adam Terrell-Payne She'd completely curb-stomp Palpatine as well. She's a being that literally feeds on stars. Palpatine's ultimate attack is shooting lightning from his hands. Now, regular Jean Grey vs. either of the OT Sith Lords would be an interesting fight to see, since her telekinesis and telepathy is probably stronger than theirs, but she lacks hand-to-hand combat skills.

darth maul vs captain america. a weaker sith with a fully offensive strategy vs cap, with an indestructible shield but no real intense superpowers so itd be evenly matched. that would be an insane fight

Cap's shield can withstand super-heated plasma beam of Maul's blade...? Also even without too much of serious training Maul is fully capable of using basic telekinesis forces. Zabrak could just easily throw Captain few times against random walls and that's the end of fight.

Step 1. Cut shield in half. Step 2. Use force on shield shrapnel to cut caps head off. Also cap couldn't throw his shield at all or it word never come back to him because of the force.

Mr. Harloff is a smart man, and he's fantastic on his channel, but he needs to watch his attitude on movie fights. Every time he's on movie fights, the people seem to be having less fun in general. He takes things to personally, too seriously, and he is condescending to others. He is better suited for his own podcast.

I agree that he has his moments. When it comes to his attitude, I don't mind the people who are argumentative, like Hal and Nick, but sometimes, not all the times, Kris seems a bit more personally upset than he should be.

yeah great choice easily a winner over the three they picked and the argument would be simple. brought home great franchise, won a lot of awards, only weakness is the many endings but then you counter with 1. wasn't split into two parts and 2. none of it's endings are as terrible as the deathly hallows epilogue

Return of the King is the best final film in a franchise. Peter Jackson's flawless trilogy came to an brilliantly emotional end that didn't leave a dry eye in the theater. It boasts some of the most epic battles ever filmed, it gave every character and storyline perfect closure, and most importantly it gave Tolkien's brilliant source material the respect he deserves. Its such a great ending that it still makes me sad that its finished over a decade later. Truly an ending that is unmatched and satisfying in every way, and is the finale that every other franchise have strived to live up to since.

Brad Wright I am not disagreeing with you, but would like to ask whether you view Legolas and Gimli as real characters. With everyone else, (seriously like everyone- even worm tongue) you get emotional depth and view of their struggles. Legolas and Gimli, although iconic and awesome, really do not have much emotion or character development. This is not a very relevant comment, but it just popped into my head and I wanted to see what others think.

It's canon (original trilogy, even!) that some species of alien are naturally immune to mind tricks. It's not a big stretch to say (for the sake of a story) that a nearly-unique-in-the-Universe Gamma Ray mutated rage beast happens to be uncontrollable (or at least remarkable hard to keep under control) as well. :)

Rock Steel I think it counts because it is the end of the Lord of the Rings trilogy and Andy said he would have counted Toy Story 3 as the end of a specific trilogy even though they are considering more movies.

Rock Steel That would not count as final. Lord of the Rings Return of the King is the trilogy final as book and movie. There are no stories after that. The hobbit or any other movie which would be based on other stories concerning Middle Earth would be a prequel as already mentioned. Take Star Wars for example epsiode VI was still the end of the story even after Episode I-III, because it is where the movies end.

Deadpool is far too powerful to be killed by any Star Wars character. I agree with your premise of an interesting fight because they have similar styles. However, Deadpool's healing factor is too powerful. No Star Wars character has a move, ability, or fighting style that could combat that.

Hugely depends on where they're fighting. If there isn't anything Indiana can use to his advantage, like an airplane propeller and the fight takes place in like a footballfield or an empty parking lot James Bond takes it 10/10. It of course depends on which Bond you're using.

When I see stuff like *Iron Man vs Darth Vader* i really have to groan lol Okay look I dont care how Big an Iron Man fan I am Aint no way I see him beating a Serious DARTH VADER. If he can force choke someone through the *star wars equivalent of skype* just by staring at them Literally all he has to do is sit there and do it. He could force grab his bones and internal organs and then POP someone lol Or if we wanna go by Force Unleashed standards thats practically Blowing up your insides with a clench of a fist. JaxBlade Ditto, Iron Man is MY FAVORITE SUPER HERO Ive been religiously reading ALL his comics since 1993 so I'm damn well versed in what he is capable of and yes he does have some pretty impressive abilities for a man but like you said if Vader wanted to he couldve just force grabbed his heart and burst it instantly.

Poor Alicia, she's a nice panellist who doesn't go out and shout.. and she's forced to face Mundy, the scream king of movie fights. I like Alicia on this show, I hope Andy will ensure she gets her time to debate in the next fight instead of being blown away by both Roger and Nick. Alicia tends to go for other choices than the other panellists so she offers a fresh perspective on things. The fact she's not a fan of Marvel or Star Wars but prefers other things makes for interesting debates. Good luck on the next round Alicia!

***** Like someone stated elsewhere before, it's not Marcel/ Star Wars Movie Fights, it's general movie fights. We don't always have MCU/SW news, there are tons of other films to talk about. Having only people from the MCU/SW corner of the film universe represented will make the episodes kind of repetitve and rather niche. So far, Alicia has picked nice choices and makes interesting points to justify them in a respectful way to her other panellists. She doesn't go out and make a shout contest out of it, she is a bit too polite when it comes to awaiting her turn in my opinion, but that also makes me like her more. She really loves film in general and prefers other stuff from the rest of the debaters. That makes for good stuff to talk about, it's up to Andy to moderate the debate and up to the others to attack her arguments with other valid points. I feel she does that among the best of the people on the movie fights. It's in the end all a matter of taste and as a follower of her channel I have found I agree a lot with her about films. So I may like her because she is my voice in the fights, who knows ;).

I like parts of what ***** does on these fights, I just, I don't know...PICK BETTER THINGS. She has a really good presence and way of speaking and you can admit to not being a fan of certain things (it seems to be pretty much everything the questions are ever about) but that just means you can do research after you get the questions. Breaking dawn part 2 and the battle of witts was just painful

Yoda vs Hulk. Someone has probably already said this, but I don't have time to read every comment. For whatever reason, they are in the same place and time period (maybe something to do with the infinity stones). They could be friends. Yoda is aware of his condition and trains him to have the mental focus of a Jedi to help him stay in control. But, eventually Banner is going to become the Hulk. It would be interesting to see Yoda deal with this out of control beast. His Jedi mind tricks wouldn't be able to calm the Hulk because his rage is too strong, but Yoda could manipulate him to focus his rage on him to avoid harming anyone else. This is also the perfect fighting situation for Yoda. He isn't taking up his lightsaber and stepping into action (as so many people took issue with in the prequels). He has no other option in order to save others from harm. He wont take out his lightsaber because he doesn't want to harm Banner either. I think it would be awesome to see all the different ways Yoda uses the force to try to contain the Hulk (maybe even knock him around a bit). Plus it would just be cool to see the little green guy take on the big green guy.

As a parent I loved Earth To Echo. I was happy to see everyone argue against Scott's claim that it sucked. I grew up with E.T. and the Goonies so it was nice to see a movie in that vein that appeals to my kid's generation. It's by no means a perfect movie but as a fun family movie it hit the mark it was shooting for.

Judging by the very limited lens of seeing her on this show, she seems to be very smart, a lot of fun, and a genuinely nice person. What I really want is a match up vs Darth Maul. He was a memorable character with badass fight scenes, but he was killed far too early with so much untapped potential. I would appreciate him in a fight vs ideally another swords master. My ideal match up would be against someone like Psylocke who has a psychic sword that might be able to stand up against a lightsaber and would hopefully be able to counteract the force somewhat because of her psychic abilities. The other potential Marvel fighter would be Magik because she has a magic sword and other powers that can help level the playing field.

Any movie that ends the series by splitting the last book into two automatically loses it for me - I hate that trend. Harry Potter: Deathly Hallows could easily have been trimmed to a single movie - There was so much fat in that novel with the three leads moping about bitching and moaning about not knowing where the horcruxes are.

Tom Leonard kinda both. The first one, is still the best of the movies, until Deathly Hallows part 1, which is as good. The most faithful was the third by the way, which is really good. The worst were 4-6, the least faithful of them all, 4 and 6 were not just unfaithful but also really, really bad. The fifth was ok, but the just didn't include a lot of stuff. Btw, don't get me wrong, I LOVE all of these movies, it's emptional stuff for me, I grew up with the books and the movies, but the movies could have been a lot better, if they followed the books a bit more

I think the chemistry of the fighters makes the episodes that much better. These guys were great because they didnt mind really fighting each other. There was no dancing around answers each person really took some swings at the other

One of the best movie fights to date. Alicia Malone as always perfect with her Calm, collected, intelligent well thought out arguments. damn she's beautiful too, way to raise the bar for the ladies! In fact everyone today was great and chilled. None of that ridiculous shouting and screaming that happens whenever Certain others are on. That crap is like watching drunken college frat boys in a bar, arguing over tips. Today's show proved You can disagree with other people's points without shouting others down! This is the intelligent entertainment we want. Can we have these guys every week? Please?

Matt Glass I agree, it's the diversity that makes this show great, diversity in the contenders, diversity in the topics (sometimes comic books, sometimes serious movies, sometimes comedies and worst films). That's what keeps this show alive.

Okay, fair point it is good to have some fresh opinions from week to week. I meant more these *kind* of guests and actual debates. It's great hearing them backing up their choices with rational arguments. Trying to persuade each other (and occasionally being successful) as well as the audience. Having an encyclopaedic knowledge of sci-fi/comic book lore is useless when it's a screaming display of egotism. Don't get me wrong, I genuinely find say Nick Mundy (for example) entertaining, but there have been at least three shows I've turned off when things descended into 'who can shout the loudest' competitions. Got to say the thing I actually admire the most is Andy's judgement of arguments, he just needs a cattle prod to keep some folk in line :)

Miranda Maison Yep. I agree with the rational argument debate. This is needed for MovieFights and I genuinely enjoyed this fight. I was particularly amused by Scott's knowledge of the facts. This was probably the most civilised and coherent Fight to date. Having said that, they missed several opportunities for stronger arguments. In Star Wars vs. Marvel, that was a pretty lame fight where the least worst argument was Alicia's wit fight. Having the Screaming gang it would've probably turned to laughs, so maybe that question should've been saved for another fight. I agree, it's a stupid question which can probably be used with the Screaming gang. In conclusion, I like having these fights, but from time to time the loud matches are also fun to watch

How did know one think of Guardians of the Galaxy vs Darth Vader and the empire? Have the Ravagers in it too. Hell maybe Thanos and Darth Vader form an alliance so it's up to the rebels, Guardians, and Avengers to defend Earth and the rest of the Galaxy.

Trailers that spoiled the movies they were made to advertise... Oblivion (2013) - By showing Morgan Freeman and the Human Resistance, it gave away too much as well as revealing hints that Tom Cruise was a clone. The Island (2005) - Similar reason to the previous film, by revealing the characters were clones. Amazing Spider-Man 2 - Not just the trailer, but all advertising. Since it revealed the other two villains (Rhino and Green Goblin) and made them out to be main adversaries to Spider-Man, when if they had not gone this way, it would have been far more surprising and better if they had not done that.

It should be Sean Connery. Imagine if at the end of the next Bond movie Daniel Craig is killed. The scene starts with a man's hand on the edge of the couch holding a martini glass and the camera pans up to M pouring over dossiers at his desk. He looks up and turns to the man and asks "I need a replacement for 007?". Sean Connery walks over points to a file and says "this one."

Nick Fury ran SHIELD and is a better spy than Black Widow, I wouldn't be surprised if he had nukes, probably has Ironman blueprints, if he can develop technology to contain the hulk with his resources then he could trap Windu.

Well you can't include nukes because nukes can't apply in single combat or they'll both die. And mace windu would win even if fury gets Starks armour. All he needs is one tap on the armour using his shatterpoint ability and the armour will fall into pieces. And a simple jango fett decapitation would suffice.

He's a spy with a helicarier and presumably fighter jets, in the movie he was going to use a nuke against the aliens, presumably from a safe drop distance. It's standard tactics and equipment for him. His recon ability/ espionage evasion/ tactical thinking should enable him to force a nuke situation in a way that he wouldn't be in the blast zone. Shatterpoint isn't movie cannon,movie Ironman armour can hang with hulk level threats, I don't know the extent of shatterpoint damage. If we get into esoteric extended universe force feats of course things would get ridiculous, might as well incorporate comic book hax and the avengers as part of Nick's combat power. It's been a long time since I saw the star wars prequels so I don't know what their mobility and durability is actually like, how fast can they move, what sort of damage can they tank? If lava is enough to fuck up Anakin then I'm sure there are MANY ways to kill a Jedi that aren't explored properly due to bad and inconsistent writing of powerlevels in the star wars movie and extended universe.

Well I guess you can use the "cannon" argument as far as shatterpoint is concerned. But using shield or the avengers or nukes is like me using the entire jedi order or force artefacts that can cause ridiculous things to happen. Sticking to movie cannon, fury doesn't have the full specs to Starks amour.

Abu Lewally Nukes is fair game a tactic used in the movies, avengers/shield is in movie universe but you are right named super powered combatants aren't really "henchmen" so shouldn't really be used in an argument. To be honest I mentioned the stark armor thing as an avenue to make the movie plausible, not as a reason as to why the Nick fury character could actually beat Windu. I'm just saying a movie could be made, especially by a genius like Tarantino . The reason why I felt the force extended universe stuff was unfair because 1) it spits in the face of the movie power levels 2) Mace was already the superpowered beast in the contest he didn't need any more ammunition to make it a fight.

Mace Windu vs Nick Fury directed by Tarantino? I love you Andy, but you have overlooked a GREAT idea. It sounds like the greatest dumb fan-service movie I could have ever thought of, and the debate could've been interesting if they had their chance to speak.

yeah sometimes i think their build-up to an episode creates too much bias as to how a fight "should" go. that was definitely an underrated pitch.
