To be honest I don't think his style works for most superheroes. Batman is considered a super hero but he has no powers. And Nolan's batman movies were fucking great but they weren't really super hero movies.

seandan317 Superheros aren't defined by powers. They are defined by humans with extraordinary talent who go above and beyond to use that talent to fight for good. Tony Stark doesn't have any powers either.

1776 was actually good - but Popeye and Rent? The immediate disqualification of 1776 just shows how these "movie fights" really just geek love over a few genres. But yeah Singing in the Rain, Sound of Music, Mary Poppins, Man of La Mancha, Grease, Hairspray, Cry Baby, Little Shop of Horror...like wtf.

The first fight literally made my jaw drop. I've never seen someone completely not get it as much as Jovenshire and Roger didn't. Apparently, the fact that they don't like Seth Rogen's style of comedy is a far bigger issue than giving into terroristic demands, than giving up our freedom of speech. Sure, filmmakers have to live in a state of fear about what they can and can't make (which means less risky, bold films, like the ones Roger claims to want), but at least Roger won't have to endure the horrifying terror of a weed joke. In hindsight, that topic shouldn't have been a movie fight, because there really is only one right answer. And it's the opposite of what those two gave.

And now Jovenshire's arguing that Daredevil's actually a great film. This is the first time I've stopped watching a Movie Fight due to cringe-worthiness since they had the guy who self-proclaimed "I don't watch movies" and disqualified himself every other round.

***** Funny thing is, this has nothing to do with freedom of speech. The problem is a lot of people in my country don't know what that actually means hence why people are making this incident more political than it actually is. Sony is a private company along with the theaters refusing to play the film AND the government wasn't the one who pulled it (unlike your scenario if the government pulled a song out of rotation and held said musician accountable for a war... now THAT would be different).

Victor Ware Funny thing is, this actually has everything to do with freedom of speech. A state-sponsored (North Korea) did not like what this movie was about, and threatened a physical attack if the movie came out. In 2006, a film made in the UK came out called "Death of a President" that was about the assassination of then president George W. Bush. The Bush Administration, not known for their delicate handling of slander/libel, did not threaten a "9/11-style" attack on the UK if the movie was released. "Death of a President" came out and, while some felt it went a little too far, nothing was made out of the movie in terms of threatening an attack on another country based on their right to produce a movie.

Ryan Grier Count me in too. They are not just walking. People watch LotR for the beautiful music, scenery, story, Middle Earth, characters, the scale, etc. LotR is a masterpiece. From the very beginning of the film you can feel the grandness and complexity of Middle Earth and you can immediately feel the threat and the dire situation the characters are in. The Ring is just a ring but you can feel how powerful and horrifying it is. That's something hard to portray. The friendship between Frodo and Sam, the pain and hopelessness the men of Middle Earth feels as they watch fires of Mordor trying to engulf the world of men, The raw awesomeness of Sauron and the Ringwraiths. You feel all of these strong emotions every time you watch the movies. I just love the world Tolkien created and watching it on screen gives me goosebumps. You gotta look at the big picture. When you do you will understand why this movie is worth watching over and over again.

I don't believe anyone can sit there and watch all of the The Lord of the Rings movies at once unless you're a dedicated fan. Though the lore and movies were great, they are just too long to marathon if you already know what's going to happen and due to the length of each movie.

Thing to note is that not all movies which "bomb"/flop actually flop. There's a long tradition in Hollywood to do highly creative accounting wherein the marketing and distribution companies deliberately charge ludicrous prices from the studios to make the move flop on paper to avoid paying net-royalties to actors and other instances they have agreements with, I haven't looked into the case of fight club precisely, but this is something to keep in mind when reading news of popular moves failing at the box office. I'm in Joven's corner. X-Men is really more of a McKellen movie. He's playing a dual-character, you love/hate him and it's a better and SHORTER standalone than Fellowship where it's 1/3 of a REALLY LONG and at times boring that he's only a part of and not as much the main central character as he is in X1.

You have first contact wars, you have krogan wars, you have the mysterious mass relays, the diplomatic and intellectual asari (also sexy), the technological salarians, the militaristic turians who look fucking badass, the tribal krogan, the gypsy quarians. I don't think that the Rachni Wars/Krogan Rebellion would make for an appealing movie due to the lack of Human cast members. The First Contact War would make for a good first movie with a possible sequel covering the Skyllian Blitz.

Hard to sell Mass Effect or any space movie without it sounding like another sci fi movie. Not to mention where or when we'd have Mass Effect take place. I think following Shepard's story on screen would be interesting. Although it'd probably piss off a lot of people.

It wasn't a fair fight to be honest. The others picked two games and just wanted to make a direct movie adaptation of games. That. Doesn't. Work. The point of a video game is interactivity, we relate to the characters because we play as them. Also, why would the contact wars be anything like The Phantom Menace? I think the expanding of the ME universe would be fun while Monkey Island doesn't translate into a box office movie and when was the last time a fighting game translated into a good movie? Those always feel like cash grabs as the characters don't have much of their own story and most of the time there is no overarching plot so everything about the movie is original while they cash in on the brand and the names from the game.

My main problem with having Miles Morales as Spiderman is that he hasn't been around long enough to have much character depth. Parker still hasn't had justice done for him. He has Gwen Stacy, Black Cat and Mary Jane for romances. He has a massive rogues gallery that is still untapped, especially when it comes to the symbiotes. Morales has nothing of note and he should have an origin movie. His origin directly ties to Parker, because he blames himself for Parker's death.

K1ll_c Funny you would mention the racism idea. I felt Bendis tried too hard with Morales' creation. Miles is a black/hispanic kid from a low-income family and potentially gay or bisexual. I understand wanting to broaden the racial spectrum among Marvel heroes, but that was ridiculous. Instead of replacing an established character in their own book with a catch-all, why not just create a new character with their own story? Miles could have started out in a similar fashion to Ben Riley and if his popularity grew Marvel could have easily given him his own book.

Peter Parker is supposed to be handsome. Theres a reason the chameleon said while imitating him "Does everyone this Parker guy know a supermodel?". He should be a nerd at the start but thanks to the spider bite he aces puberty. All you need is great makeup work. Logan Lerman or Dylan O'Brien are my top picks. Andrew was great but his time has come to pass and he knows it.

Well saying all games are superior might be excessive. But Mass Effect for instance, there is no way in a million years a movie could top that. Why? Because in the game it's your adventure, and you are making choices that affect the story, you're the one fighting for survival. And that's what make many gaming experiences superior to movies in every single way.

1. It should be an Netflix exclusive and then release on DVD and Blu-Ray in 3-4 months. 2. Not so sure 3. The Original TMNT movies (except from 3, they're just fun) 4. Injustice: Gods Among Us (Get a badass director and don't add a boring origins story to it.) 5. Oliver! 6. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (There's something about it that I just love.) 7. Noel Fisher (His attitude as Michelangelo in TMNT was the best part about the movie and I think it will fit Spidey perfectly.)

Mordalon To be fair, the studio butchered that film and didn't allow David Lynch final cut, kind of like with Alien 3 and David Fincher, hence why Lynch's name was replaced with Alan Smithee in the credits. Have you seen Jodorowsk'y Dune? Man, that would have been quite something.

There is only ONE video game that deserves a movie adaptation: Pursuit Force: Extreme Justice. I loved that game growing up! It was my favorite game on my PSP, and probably the game that I spent the most hours on, bar, maybe the first Pursuit Force. It had a compelling story that built on events of the previous game, it returned with old enemies whilst introducing new ones, along with new weapons, new vehicles and new characters. Perhaps what I loved about it most in terms of storytelling is that all of the different cases are intertwined; they all take place in the same context, with the previous game, the only thing connecting the cases was that they were all the same gang members. This game took it one step further by creating an overarching story that would affect the development of characters as a whole. It's got a great story, it's got intense action, it's got in-depth characters and "one awesome twist they run into the ground". Acting choices for characters: Commander: Mark Wahlberg/Tom Cruise Gauge: Chris Evans/Bradley Cooper Ashley: Undecided Preach: Undecided Sarah: Uma Thurman/Charlize Theron Chief: J. K. Well that wasn't really the debate if you see it again. It is apparent that LOTR is the better movie, but the debate was which one did he do the better performance in, and that IS debatable, very much so. Besides Wolverine, the only thing that matters in the franchise, the person who did the best performance in my opinion was clearly Magneto. He was absolutely right that it is extremely hard to make audiences actually gravitate and feel compassion for a Villain, but I personally was behind Magneto and his point, just not the way he tried to rectify it. But his goal and premise for his actions were absolutely correct. Humanity sucks ass, and we're dicks LOL we hate and try to kill anything we don't understand, simply because we don't understand it and don't actually want to take the time to do that. And his response is basically "OK you wanna be assholes like that, OK well be careful who you push, cuz we'll push back" and I 100% agree with it

On the issue of The Interview I'm totally on the side of the fat guy with the hat. Threatening others is the easiest thing in the world. David Mendez I agree in terms of survival horror, but evil dead 1 and 2 weren't so cohesive in terms of plot progression. Bioshock has rich story, that would have to be more structured. I can see it as something like a hybrid of Blade Runner with Evil Dead.

I love the Popeye musical! The tone was a little weird, granted, but it was a Robert Altman film, so that shouldn't be too surprising. Still, the songs were awesome. "I Yam What I Yam," "Swee' Pea's Lullaby," and "Blow Me Down" are still favorites of mine. And, to this day, if I hear someone say "Where are we?" in a certain tone, my brain's muscle memory (so to speak) immediately sings "Sweethaven..." Like I said, the tone was a little odd for a Popeye movie because it was an Altman film and audiences at the time didn't really know what to do with it, but, IMO (and apparently Roger's), it's underappreciated.
