This is such BS and is not true at all. 🤮You clearly aren't in some form of pain 24/7 because at a certain point it is just annoying af when other people say not to do things that cause pain because often you're in pain just by existing. The only way I appreciate someone being concerned about my pain is if they are also willing to do something to actually help me. As in do the thing for me that causes more pain or find a creative solution i didn't realize yet. Just telling someone not to do the thing is not help ful in any way shape or form. Thank goodness for Mouse becoming a Vtuber, otherwise Connor may have never ended up coming into Mousey's life. Sure, she is right that pain comes and goes as you can get bodily aches from being in an awkward position, but pain is your body's way of telling you "something is not right in this area" and a constant or intense pain is a sign that something is very wrong
@StochasticUniverse7 ай бұрын
That would be true for a normal person, but I think the issue is that, like anyone with chronic pain, you have no choice but to just cope it because it's not going to stop. Resting won't necessarily make it get better like it would for you or me. She knows her body is jacked up, she doesn't need a signal to be informed of that unfortunate fact. And she's become used to it so she just lives with it to the best of her ability. I think what she's trying to say is that there's no point in laying off of it because it isn't going to get better from rest. Mouse's condition isn't transitory, it's permanent. The pain is just a fact of life.
@RoseKitty267 ай бұрын
@@StochasticUniversesure mouse has chronic pain due to her illness but carpal tunnel in particular is very preventable and fixable when you get help from a doctor. I think the problem is that Mouse is used to pain, if she told people every time she's in pain she would probably always talk about it, and some people might even find that annoying (I think that's what she's afraid of). amusing how when you also struggle with chronic pains, you see this situation from both perspectives. You would want someone you care about to take care of themselves and take breaks to heal, but on the other hand, when you have chronic pains there is no such thing as healing.. only managing. The pain is always there and to some point you're used to it, then there's the days when the pain is worse and you have to manage it differently. Sadly as much as you want someone with chronic pains to take care of themselves and stop doing something when they're in pain, from the perspective of the person in pain, in a way it feels like giving up. If i were told to stop doing things cuz i'm in pain, things would never be done. I wouldn't be able to do anything cuz i'm in pain. That would be a very boring reality to live in.

It can help if you think of yourself as a friend. Like, if your friend were in your situation, what would you want them to do? We seem to find it much easier to have compassion for others instead of for ourselves, so this is a bit of a trick to circumvent that. It also helps to remember how much it sucks to have a friend that's choosing to hurt themselves because they don't think they're worth protecting, y'know?

As someone who's also dealing with chronic pain, I rarely act on it. Only when it's at a very high level, when it's not getting better after a few days of rest, I'll start thinking about mentioning it to someone. In the past, I did let my specialist know. But every time I've had to undergo painful or awkward tests and in the end, nothing was found. So if every time you tell your doctor you're in pain, you get to be in more pain, only to be told there's nothing wrong... after a while, you don't even bother telling them. They can't help you anyway, and by not telling, you get to skip the painful tests and pity. It's quite sad, but that's how it goes. If Mousey told Conner, he'd be worried, but he can't do anything to lower her pain. And for Mousey, on top of dealing with the pain, she also has to deal with the fact she made Connor worry. (At least that's what happens if I'm in the same situation).

People without chronic pain just can't understand just how constant the pain is for people who have it. Since luckily, they have never had to experience living in constant pain where only the intensity changes, but never goes away (at least without insanely strong meds) Not only is the pain management a dominant theme in your life if you have chronic pain, it makes diagnosing other conditions very hard since it is otmften very hard to feel/differentiate even acute conditions since it can be completely drowned under the chronic pain

I have chronic pain (severe nerve damage in my coccyx and severe flatfoot) there's absolutely NOTHING I can do to fix my nerves or reform the deformed bones in my feet, so what role does pain plays? Why does I need to be reminded that my feet sucks everytime I take a step? Why must I feel as if red hot nails are being pushed into my soles everyday of my life? Why does the simple act of sitting down make me feel as if my coccyx is being broken? Pain is there no matter what, I don't want to "be and idiot and force myself through it" but surprise, surprise! I cannot do *ANYTHING ELSE* nor can Mousey, or anyone with chronic pain for that matter. So please, don't insult us for simply trying to live with the shitty hand that life has give us.

If my mom’s wrists (both) needed surgery, I was told at the time that mine didn’t need surgery for now. But during covid, I woke up every morning with either my right arm completely numb or a pain so intense from my shoulder to the tip of my fingers that I wanted to scream. I pushed it back until that point because of the whole covid ordeal but by end of 2021, I was at my fucking limit so I scheduled a surgery in january 2022 and life is fucking good now! I didn’t realize how much it started to hurt until I was grasping my shoulder in incredible pain multiple days in a row, gritting my teeth and desperately willing for the pain to fucking go away. I’m just lucky to live in a country where this surgery didn’t cost both my arms in money or I would probably still be in pain every morning…

There’s a point you hit where you have to ask yourself “Do I keep coddling this and hope it goes away or go back to living my life.” I’ve had back and wrist pain for years, giving up everything I enjoy just to stop the pain isn’t worth it.

As someone who has a birth defect where I have a very little amount of cartilage it’s painful every day all day so I just kinda deal but I do complain because there’s literally nothing I can do for it

For someone that has chronic pain its quite tiring to speak about it. People tell me I should just tell them, but like how should I tell them that Im always in pain. Just sometimes its worse. I get her, that she ignores it for to long.

They have such a good frienship you'd think they are a couple. Why because they care about each other a lot and trust each other completely. Its not because they flirt or anything. Its because the lack meaningfull relationships in OUR lives reached a point where yor think those traits are exclusive to couples but in reality this is what true frienship is like. Now if you think about it in love you either start as friends like this and decide to go further or your friendship with your significant other blossoms at the same time as your love. Now this isnt the case like in most loving relationships sadly. But never forget that love should be an adition to your life, that kind of relationship should not feel like a burden. Personally im sad for mouse. I know this is the case for me and i'm guessing most people, but i would hate to fall in love with soeone like mouse, i like to go outside (although as you can guess i neglect that) and i wouldnt want to see my significant other in pain all the time. I know its frustrating but i pity and feel bad for people who have chronic pains. Plus i'm the kind of happy go lucky guy who never gives a crap and is border line narcissistic, if i could i'd share some of my good health undeserved i litterally do nothing (im in higher studies) and im in good shape physically. Heck id even share my broken luck stat too with someone in need but i would be able to stand to see someone i love being in pain like that. Wow this comment really degenerated...Why are you still reading?
