Nice to see another nutritious food! I’m starting one on Medicus Vet Diets. You’re right I like mg per 100 kcal a but getting so difficult to get, I’m a dry matter guy now.

I’ve looked into them but they are not complete and balanced as you have to mix them so there is no way really to review them and I’d probably avoid them since you can’t really evaluate them.

Hello Dr. Rea. I really like to watch your videos. I have watched many and you have helped me understand much about nutrition for my dog. Would you make a video comparing pet insurance? It is so hard to see what is the best option and how to know what is really needed. I know much depends on the breed of dog and what the breed is naturally inclined to have such as hip displacia, heart disease, etc. I have a 15 lb Shih Tzu (75%) Jack Russell (25%) mix and I just want her to have her best life. My Cavalier King Charles died of heart disease and it was hard. One vet said I should give her medicine that was $50 per month and another vet said that there isn’t enough data showing that med helps. I am not fond of big Pharma and the fact that they recommend to put drugs in humans and pets for everything even when there are better natural ways. With all that said, seeking insurance for dogs care is difficult as well.

So sorry for your puppy. Pet insurance is very simple and different than human insurance. There really isn’t much to review with it. It is a service that reimburses you for out of pocket expenses. Outside of that it just depends on what you want covered. Because veterinarians have really no part in the process, there isn’t much for me to share.

Can you review Sundays Food For Dogs, Steves Real Food Frozen Raw, The Pets Table Air-Dried, and We Feed Raw Frozen? Im looking through your playlist to see if Ive missed any of these. Just came back from 5 years in Germany and am struggling finding a desirable replacement dog food for a spayed Golden Retreiver and a large mixed breed 4 month puppy

Because raw is contraindicated for the general population I do not review raw foods. If you feel like your pet medically needs raw, that would be a question for your personal veterinarian.

Hello Dr. Rea, I hope this comment finds you well. I have a cat with urinary crystals. As you know it’s a long weekend and I have recently purchased Hills Urinary c/d Multicare Stress (dry food) for him and he will not touch it. I have tried everything to get him to eat this food but have had no luck. He likes wet food though so I’m going to try that version of urinary food instead. I have a question though? Is there a major difference between the three major brands of therapeutic Urinary Diets (Hills, Purina and RC)? Or is it basically just based on the clients needs such as budget, protein type cat prefers, etc? I will of course follow up with my Vet. At this point I guess it’s just trial and error until I can get him to eat one of these diets? Thank you kindly for your time. ☺️

They all work in different ways so yes, they are different but all aim to achieve the same thing. Personally I choose based what the pet does best with and then change if necessary. I don’t fine one better than the other in general. farmina also has a new vet line but I can’t get them to respond to me with any data to show it does work so I can’t recommend that one yet.

@@AnimalDocRea Thank you so much Dr. Rea. That’s so helpful as it can be very overwhelming when researching these diets yourself online. At this point as long as he’ll eat it I’m fine with whatever brand will work.
