Is first class worth it on the Dutch NS sprinter trains?

Ever since riding the dutch trains I've always questioned why people would spend more money on first class. Today, I reviewed both classes and came up with a conclusion. Watch the video to find out my opinion!

The nice thing about NS is if have a first class subscription it counts for both sprinter and intercity and first class intercity is definitly worth it 😀

As a frequent traveler with a first-class off-peak subscription, I do think it's worth it. But that might just be because I travel a ridiculously large amount.

Also fun: 50% second class seats aren't above the motors and weels. 1st class seats are above the motor and the weels, so there is much more noise there.

Same situation in german short distance trains, tho i found it useful when they are really packed in rush hour and you want a seat and not being side by side with other people.

Do you recommend first class if international students arrived from schiphol and planning to Utrecht Centraal with luggages?

The biggest reason to purchase a first-class on that type of sprinter train is that when it's busy (which happens, especially now, quite often) you are still in a decently quiet area. And have access to a seat.

First class on German regional trains is similar: No great difference, just less crowded if second class is very full. In times of low demand the difference is negligible.

As an student that travals far and alot the sprinter u got (newest) there are little differences but in older ones there are like for 2nd class no powersocket abd less comfortable chairs

You are missing an important point, as everyone knows red is the fastest colour, so If you sit in a red seat you will travel faster!

The first class is only to ensure that you always have a place to sit. Nothing more than that.

oh no... you rode the SNG as sprinter? you should have gone with the FLIRT's in the south between roosendaal and arnhem centraal. The FLIRT's have much better chairs and are overall better trains.
