I had an almost confirmed house sit in California when the homeowner said another visitor would be in the place while I was there. While they were familiar with the person, I wasn't, and there was no separation of living quarters. I turned it down. It depends on your comfort level.

I'm confused. I'm a pet sitter, people pay me a set fee per day to care for their pets while they're away. Sometimes I do "overnight visits" where I live at the home, I still get paid for each day I'm at the house. What you describe as "house sitting" sounds like it undermines my pet sitting business. If you stay at a house and care for pets for free why would someone pay me to do the same thing? I definitely need to learn more about what's going here! Edit: I listened to the entire video! This is great stuff, especially the part about never experiencing cold 🥶 weather again! Thanks for sharing this way of life!

OMG hahaha I had a similar experience with "wypipo" in Ohio. When I was in junior high school we moved from Houston to just outside of Cincinnati, in a town called Mason. This was the early 90's and my sisters and I experienced 1950's style racism. We moved back to Texas a few years later but that "spoiled" my view on white folk too LOL. I actually just spent 9 days in Amsterdam, I got back a few days ago-it's such a cultural melting pot and the social systems are OUTSTANDING. I have friends that have left the US to live there, and I also met other brown folk who have immigrated there from other countries and cannot say enough about it: safe, stable, and VERY egalitarian. I'm looking more into relocating there for myself now.

You are right. Pets are their owner's favorite family members. My uncle had an entire refrigerator for his one and only dog. I can't imagine having a 2nd refrigerator for a dog.

Here! Here!! I currently live just outside Columbus, Ohio, and yes, it's difficult dealing with the melanated difficient folks. Although this video was about house sitting, you gave me much to consider. I did NOT realize some houses in other countries came without appliances. I expected no washer or dryer. You get that here in the US, and from what I've read, some countries don't even use dryers. However, the whole no stove or countertops thing? That took me. Thanks for doing this video. I am considering taking up house sitting, but as a blind person, I'm not sure how people would feel. My plan is to rope my sister into sitting with me. Your videos are a godsend. Thanks for all you do. You keep me encouraged.

I'm confused because trusted house sitters gigs are all free and majority of them are pets. Very very small amount that are no pets😩 so how do you monetize it if the app doesn't pay and matter of fact they charge YOU a fee for the year

Housesitting helps mostly with extended travel internationally because someplace to stay is so expensive. Or pick a US city you've always wanted to stay. You have to be a digital nomad to make your money while travelling or savings.
