Yes! My current 4-month housesit just extended to 8 and the homeowners already stated that they probably plan to extend for a full year. I'd say it didn't 'fit' in my travel plans HOWEVER, I've had some unexpected changes with contracts, etc so it actually is a really great arrangement that has happened 🤗I can't thank you and Shida enough for exposure to this new life I'm living🥰

This was a very telling an informative Vlog. Possibly dealing with pests in a home needs to be considered. I always think about a bedbug horror, I couldn’t deal with that. Also, having someone spray poison in your home if you get a Housesitter is also a need to know (especially if you have thyroid problems or other health conditions that can’t tolerate environmental poisons). I got two sides of the coin today. Thanks.

For @Vonn Powell - Saw on the replay that you are in SLO. I’m in Pismo. I did paid pet sitting for extra cash for years in Grover, SLO, and Morro Bay, while I also had a regular job in SLO. If the animals can be left alone while the owners work, it shouldn’t be an issue if you’re still working. Of course, that depends on the needs of the pets and/or owners. There aren’t a whole lot of house/pet sitting opportunities in SLO County, however, it’s not impossible to find them. The advantage you have is that you live locally. People around here tend to prefer dealing with people who live locally.

Here’s a tip : I will always have my pack of flint rollers… I use these myself at home as I have a cat.

Spray Bottle- Add Dawn Soap 1/3 bottle Add White Vinegar 2/3 bottle Shake and spray out side walls or on bugs. It is cruel. But they die and do not come back.

I was wondering if you’ve had luck securing no pet sits, and how you approach that differently from sits with pets? I’m not sure what to say to stand out for sits with no animals to care for. Wonderful, Azi! I've done sits without pets that I booked from word of mouth, not from Trusted Housesitters. On TH they sits without pets get booked in MINUTES, so you have to have alerts set and apply first.

I sit for cats, dogs, chickens, fish and tortoises- sometimes in one sit. I don’t do huge dogs like Greyhounds, Dobermans, etc. or aggressive like Rottweilers or Pits. I don’t do snakes. I can give injections taught to me by pet owner.

I also look very carefully at photos of house/apt. I want a well kept, meticulously clean dwelling. I keep it very clean too. I look for clutter, which I don’t like. Photos are very helpful. A kitchen without any appliances-no microwave, no coffee pot, no toaster, etc is a no for me. I can see what’s in kitchen from pics. I don’t choose those.

No. It’s about $120.00 a year. You can also upgrade for about $220 per year. Membership comes with 24 hr vet service and insurance coverage for yourself.
