Perfect timing! I'm in my last year for my Doctor of Pharmacy and every week we learn about a new disease state and I convince myself I have it 🙄This week was MS and suddenly I'm convinced I need an MRI, but this video helped calm me right down and remember I didn't have pulmonary hypertension, or heart failure, or a.fib, or anything else I thought I did after learning about it. @@Snack_Package I did it all too. I noticed my left arm is smaller than my right arm. But I’m right hand dominant. Then I noticed my left leg is less strong. It drove me crazy for months thinking I’m wasting away from ALS!!! I swear the more I looked online, the more symptoms I came with if I tried hard enough. Put it this way: Here’s how my Neuro said it: ALS is a disease of failure!! Clinical weakness means not being able to move a foot or hand completely. Feeling slight weakness isn’t clinical. ALS isn’t being able to run a marathon one day and then feeling weaker the next. ALS is being able to run a marathon one day and not being able to walk the next day. If you can do everything you used to, you’re fine. However, it doesn’t mean you don’t another issue. If you feel strongly then make an appointment. Get your blood work done and do the electro and needle test to calm yourself. Stay off the internet and don’t self diagnose.

About a year ago I suffered from crippling health anxiety after falling really ill and suffering from so many symptoms that I diagnosed as life-threatening/the start of a serious illness (it turned out to be an overwhelming amount of stress and anxiety that was making me ill.) Your channel was one of the only things that caused me to act rationally throughout that time when I was panicking multiple times a day, and your channel really helped me break the cycle and stop panicking over every minor change in my body. I can’t thank you enough for the work you do! A year on I am recovered and happy, so I’d like to let everyone know that your health anxiety does not define you and listening and sharing with others really really helps! Thank you very much for this video. I'm actually in the exact same mindset you were in and waiting for an MRI a few weeks from now. Like you, I'm 90% convinced that's I have MS, and worried beyond belief. The only other thing I've come up with that produce a similar results is something called cervical stenosis. A narrowing of through the vertebra in the neck, and this can cause damage to the actual spinal cord. So, I definitely think people should have things checked for peace of mind, but I also know I've had some pretty severe (and very real) symptoms that were the result of anxiety. When you're in it, you're convinced it's not anxiety, but when the anxiety finally goes away so do the symptoms. It's pretty embarrassing, but anxiety can be really horrible. One thing that may be helpful to people is if you have access to a tranquilizer like Xanax or Valium, try one, and see what happens to the symptoms. I did this myself and 80% of the symptoms disappeared. I could think clearly, and actually had a really productive day. Still, the next day my worry was back, and so were the symptoms. I can't stop or at least not stop right now the crazy thoughts. Good luck to all.

I constantly think I have MS. My anxiety is also horrible. Should have been more proactive in my mental health instead of suffering for 30 years. I have started. Multiple doctors have told me I am suffering from severe anxiety and all say to see a psychiatrist. After months of numbness and muscle tightness my friend gave me a xanax. Poof. ..all symptoms nearly completely gone. Then a day later they return. Took another and the same thing. My doctor also denies my request for mri. Which creates more anxiety. I guess my question is, if I take a xanax and then within an hour i feel like the normal and good version of myself, should I maybe calm down about this? Thanks in advance if you respond.

I am so afraid I have MS. I have never known to have suffered from anxiety. Just one time I drove myself to the ER for shortness of breath and arm weakness and they performed an EKG on me,ended up telling me it was anxiety. I never knew I had anxiety. That was as bad as it would get. Until a couple of weeks ago I had a drastic change in behavior I’ve been crying and have really bad anxiety every day I have muscle spasms and tremors at night and my right hand hurts along with my right arm being weak, my vision is sometimes blurry ….im even more scared now because I brought all this up to my dr and she ordered bloodwork to see if I have an autoimmune disease. I keep tellling myself she thinks it is because otherwise why would she send me for blood work? I pray this is my outcome. I pray it’s only anxiety and not an autoimmune disease

I have had symtoms for 9 years now. I had a brain MRI for suspected MS when symptoms first began that was normal. Then they found an adrenal issue said to be the cause. I never suspected MS even when tested. After multiple "relapses" of symptoms after many months or years without I began to suspect MS in 2020 after 5 weeks of misery and then nothing for more than two years until approximately 6 months ago. I feel awful in one form or another all the time from tremors, difficulty walking, severe and painful muscle spasms, as well as twitches, numbness and tingling, vertigo and many other symptoms. I never know what the day or hour will bring. I go back and forth between being sure something neurological is happening to me and fear that its all in my head. I know the mind is a powerful thing. Today I went to walk my dog and the tremors in my legs were so bad they were wobbly and bouncing rapidly, it was so scary. Ive never experienced it so strong like that (reminds me of someone with advanced parkinsons) i also had major speech issues. This only lasted 45 min or an hour but it was so intense and scary. The fact that it went away seems sus like its anxiety. Luckily, I am getting the MRIs soon and will get some answers one way or another. I should also note that I was diagnosed last year with seronegative RA and AS after 20+ years of chronic pain. So, I also wonder if alot of whats happening is just due to those. I do suffer from anxiety. The problem is the double edge sword. Either one can cause the other.

Yes, stress, anxiety, pinched nerve, plenty of things that do not mean you have a progressive disease. I am suffering awfully with HA and recently went through the Lhermitte scare. Going to my GP tomorrow for a bit of reassurance but yes many things cause that :)

@@motownkitten9212 Thank you for replying! 🙏 Do you also sometimes feel your back is vibrating/pulsating/or trembling? My physiotherapist thinks it's "just anxiety/nerves", maybe bad posture also. Is your Lhermitte's syndrome gone now, or are you just not worried about it anymore?
@motownkitten9212
@motownkitten9212 2 жыл бұрын
@@marial3301 the pulsating and trembling yes, definitely. I also get those sensations in various other parts of my body too. And DEFINITELY bad posture contributes to this. I went through a “depression bed rest” period where a lot of physical sensations were brought on by that, so yes bad posture causes neck/back problems. I don’t tend to worry about it too much but the HA kicks in and sometimes i do. The less I worry about symptoms the more they seem to not be there.

@@marial3301 yes i had reassurance from my GP who is insistent it is nothing to worry about. Like I mentioned there really are so many other things that the tingling probably is. You mentioned your physio suggesting it may be bad posture or anxiety/nerves also huuuuge contributor to neck/spine issues. Also yes my hands are one of my biggest anxiety hot spots, they tremble, vibrate and also my fingers twitch a lot too. Btw when you mentioned the “pulsating” feeling ^ on your back in your earlier comment this is very likely your heartbeat, blood pumping more vigorously due to anxiety, many people with anxiety get this too it can be felt in your back, chest etc.

I have been to so many doctors... I've had so many tests and I still wonder If I could have MS. Pain all over, and it doesn't go away for weeks and months... might be anxiety but the pains are very strange, like sore tendons swollen lymph nodes that aren't really swollen... inner thigh pain... strange chest wall pain... my anxiety decreased and the pain remains. LAST tests coming this week, hopefully. Scoping. So tired of doctors just looking confused. Hopefully it is anxiety... and it will pass.

I have MS, tarlov cysts, and COPD (am much older than you), so am offering replies if you or your followers have questions. It's true that everybody's different, and many of us have varying symptoms, but there are definitely symptoms that are either very rare or unheard of with certain conditions, so I could probably ease worries. If you've already gone through a battery of tests and all were negative, though that doesn't rule everything out, the odds swing greatly in favor of "just anxiety." Having said that, anxiety is bad enough! Over time, anxiety can ruin your health and your life, so you need to pay attention and take steps to lower it, preferably without drugs. I wish you well.

What were your symptoms of MS? Can you please share, I have a gazillion symptoms 😢
@greydoe
@greydoe 2 жыл бұрын
@@lambylambcurly One pretty reliable symptom of MS is fatigue, which is also true of other auto-immune conditions. The kind of fatigue is important, because it's not typical of the kind you feel from being sick from a virus, like a cold or flu. It's an incredibly deep fatigue. I remember during my initial symptoms, feeling "too tired to keep my heart beating." I was only 19 years old, and an athlete in very good shape (I am female, btw). So feeling "sick-tired" was something I'd never felt before. My neurologist said, "no extreme fatigue, no MS," stressing that it's a necessary symptom for MS to even be considered. So there's that. The details are that I was laying in bed late one night reading, and suddenly felt my entire left side go numb, from my left foot to the top of my head, including the left side of my tongue! I was understandably alarmed, and got up to drive myself to the ER. I had full motor capacity - all symptoms were sensory-only. By late the next day, almost all numbness was gone, except my left foot. It felt like it was alternately on fire, then frozen. Very strange. I wore a sock on that foot for a month, when it finally felt almost normal again. That was my introduction to MS, back in the early 70's. What symptoms have you had/have now? How long do they last? And most importantly, did you, or do you, have sick-fatigue?

I live in America, so getting MRIs, scans, and tests aren't free. It causes a lot of anxiety sufferers to brood away on their health and death. I've had about 5 different diseases with my current health ordeal all self-diagnosed. I got numbness on my body and don't know where the fuck it came from. The thing is my anxiety is relieved when I figure that most of these diseases have no cure in your prone to die from them I just resigned myself to the fact that maybe I'll just die suddenly instead of going to a doctor and be given a diagnosis and say that we can't do shit about it and you only have so longed to live and living with a horror and anguish of dying quickly and in a deteriorated state

@@cherellethinks I got covid recently and that seemed to trigger something weird in my body. I started having weird sensations in my left forearm, then strange sensations in my tongue and jaw muscles where it felt like I couldn't swallow or eat normally, muscle twitching in various parts of my body. Over the past few days it's turned into severe headaches, fatigue, diarrhea and a bit of nausea. I have had weird neurological sensations in the past, but nothing like this. After being freaked out by ALS for a few days I'm leaning towards it being fibromyalgia, but who knows. I am an anxious person generally, but I wasn't overly anxious or stressed when all this came about 2 weeks ago with the onset of Omicron. I had a clear brain MRI about two months ago so I'm not thinking it's MS. Whatever it is it's making my life miserable, so I hope it clears up here soon.
