I want to test and see if it is worth your time scrapping out a window ac unit. Lets see how it goes.

Thanks for sharing. Might I suggest getting some inexpensive eye protection. It only takes one freak accident to lose your sight and eye protection only costs a few bucks. I almost lost sight in one eye because an errant shard flew up and hit the skin 1/4 inch from my eye. Lots of blood, by still have my eyesight. On a lighter note, I also have a forge and several window units that I need to disassemble and now know I probably should.

That's the exact same model I pushed out of my mobile home window a few weeks ago! Oh don't get me wrong, I got my money's worth use out of it, but it quit working at a bad time so I literally unplugged and pushed it out the window because it was causing water to run inside my window when it came a heavy rain, they don't include a decent weather kit with those boxes window AC units, so I'd advise running some clear silicone around any gaps outside the window especially if your gutters are causing water to run down your window glass! I scrap all my old AC units but I'm looking for ways to repurpose them or some of the internal components!

Good vid but Im a little confused about last part? Aren't pretty much every and all window ac units electric? When was last time you saw an ac unit that ran on fossil fuels???
@westernblackcottonwood26529 ай бұрын
I think he’s referring to the price of copper going up, due to increasing demand for electric vehicles, more copper is needed and price goes up. I didn’t hear him say anything about ac units running directly from fossil fuel….

@@westernblackcottonwood2652 oh ok, that makes sense, wasnt drawing the connection to VEHICLES at the time for some reason... he said something around 5.30 about getting off of fossil fuels... aaaaaaaaand they have recently begun to crack down on older a/c units due to not being quite as efficient as more modern units in the same way they are beginning to crack down on gas stoves

I take everything except the compressor. They are heavy and a pain. I throw the acs in my shopping cart

I make well over $100/hr stripping AC units! EASY money!!

Hahaha. Ok pal. Sure bud.

$100/hr is common. Just because you can’t do it doesn’t mean cuscrapping and myself aren’t doing it.

If your doing it illegally by just letting the freon just go then it's worth it but if you have bring it somewhere to have freon removed legally then it not worth it
