Coming from an asian background, I know that the chinese and indians are the world's most high-demand buyers of 24karat and pure gold because they know the ROI value. Why do you think that indians and Chinese must always buy gold for weddings? People who buy fashion jewelry and fall for the costs of 14k and 18k don't understand those are not pure gold items. Yet, the western market charges an insane price for items that are 10k or 14k or sterling silver. Invest in items that are as close to pure gold as possible such as 22k or 24k.

There is a reason for the existence of karats, and that is hardness, and toughness. A pattern on 24 k will not last. Fine if you are just getting something for your wedding, but if you are just getting for the gold value and not the craftsmanship then you might as well just buy pure gold and skip any additional premiums altogether.

I bought 3 small gold eggs from them. I have a thing for gold eggs. Mainly because of fairytales like Jack and the Beanstalk or Puss n Boots 2 movie… so yeah, I bought three of them. I even took one to a professional jeweler who I knew pretty much my whole life. He checked the gold and he was astonished that it’s 24 karat and that it’s been molded into an egg. Ever since then I started collecting gold eggs Mene once every year or so. But then again, it’s been about two years since I actually bought another egg because of the inflation and stuff. I even bought a platinum egg that is made out of pure platinum. I love converting my money into metals but this type of way is fun for me. I guess you could say I am building “Nest Egg” for the future. 😜

when they talk about a 6 month life expense security deposit it makes sense to hold it in gold and silver instead of cash. Ideally you wouldnt ever have to spend it all the way until retirement when it would be worth a lot more than now. Banks can close their doors and go offline whenever they have to, it happened in europe and several other countries. North america will get hit, its not a matter of IF it will happen its just a matter of when. Debt can only grow exponentially, it cannot be payed off anymore.

DO NOT! 24k is extremely soft and should never be worn on a daily basis/while doing any physical activity where your hands are being used (Literally everything). 24k is only meant to be an investment piece and is usually only worn for special events with great care as it is extremely fragile. Ive honestly even managed to put major dents and non-fixable scratches in a solid 18k ring by holding onto the steel pole on the bus. Wedding rings are usualy made of 14k over 18k just because it needs to be durable enough for daily wear.

The Dropship Dropouts bracelets/chains are probably the safest bets with 24k but a 2-4mm ring would last less than a month with daily wear. Rings in general are usually only made of 14k because your hands will hit/knock many different things on a daily basis that can damage the ring.

The Dropship Dropouts but even with a 24k bracelet if it’s worn every day and not properly taken care of it will last 2-4 months max with daily wear. (24k is NOT supposed to be worn daily and it needs special care) whenever I bought anything higher than 18k purity I was told it should not be worn for more than a few hours during very special events due to how soft it is. 24k gold is softer than glass

My wife and I use MENE wedding bands and so long as you don't mind scuffs and dents it will hold up fine. I did opt for their largest size because I do work with my hands but the Missus has the smaller band width and hasn't had any problems yet. The 24k gold is too soft to wear line is mostly an exaggeration borne of North America's obsession with 10-14k gold because mass market jewelers successfully marketed them. In Europe 18k is the minimum people will generally use and in Asia it's 21k at least. Now my wife does have some 24k asian jewellery that is very thin that I wouldn't recommend wearing daily, but average thickness stuff will be fine.

It takes alot to damage them. Gold is a soft metal but it's virtually impossible to corrode. As long as your not banging your wrists around you'd be good lol

gold has definitely gone up in value since this vid (3 years later), but its underperformed almost everything else, particularly equities (stocks). also if there was every a systemic collapse like what peter schiff loves fear mongering about, gold of all things wouldn't magically survive. its would get crushed like everything else.

I have several problems with Mene'. First off, they have a number of designs of rings and I asked them to do a special order for me of a Cuban ring. They declined because they have a number of ring designs they sell and Cuban isn't one of them. Another jewelry company tells me that Mene' has certain designs they choose to sell and they have them mass produced. They don't favor making new designs or taking special orders, it seems. Also, their markup is quite a high percentage and with the price of gold reaching over $2,000 this week, that's a factor to consider also. Thanks. RLP, USAF Retired

Gold is a great investment I won't buy anything lower than 22 carat. I would not sell it back to them for 90 percent you can get 97-8 from a gold merchant's . nice though you need about 100 grams for a nice bracelet IMO.

OK, the Menē gold is pretty. I'm confused that they also sell platinum pieces as "24K". Platinum is not hallmarked in karats like gold anywhere else that I've seen. It's also not "pure", even in bullion, it's 99.95. In jewelry it is mostly 950 (95%) and 900 (90%). I don't get it.

Dude just open a brokerage account. Schwab has a good one. Transfer money from your bank account. Buy an S&P 500 based ETF. SPY or VOO. Keep adding money and keep buying shares of the etf. Forgot about it and come back in 10 years and you will have a lot more money.

The idea of 24k is okay but their designs are botchy and way too simple... just like potatoes of gold. Their charms reminds me pieces of art that I did with play doh when I was 4. Almost no handwork on it, no sophistication... no stones, there is not any brilliance to their pieces and it scratches too much easily... i mean: when you buy jewelry you buy it for what it looks too, not only for the materials...

10k, 14k and 18k are jewelry companies' marketing ploys to make you believe that they have value when the buy-back value are significantly lower than their original retail purchase values. Asian countries don't follow the "K" rating, they instead follow a 999 or 999.9 rating which equates to 24k. You want gold that is as close to 999 as possible.

gold Is a terrible investment, no gold buyer pays more than 80% the value of the gold. you will never be able to sell your gold for 100% of its value. soon as you purchase gold for spot price you lose 20% instantly.

It is a know problem, particular products might come "under weight", but still within 0.5g difference, so you will likely paying for more than you actually get in grams. Buyer Be aware. The customer service level is the least helpful than well established companies. I'd rather buy from Kitco or APMEX than Mene. If they can't get this done accurately, good luck selling it back to them.

They buy it back at the price listed on the certificate regardless of it's actual weight, and this is just anecdotal but all 4 of my MENE pieces came in slightly overweight. Also they don't count the 21k clasp so that's "Free" gold. Honestly their markup is high enough they don't need to purposefully swindle people.

24k is WAYYY too soft if you plan to actually wear it, no jewelry store will ever really have any wearable pieces over 18k because pure gold is way too soft for even occasional wear. 24k is perfect as an investment piece however its bought in gram or ounce bars/coins not jewelry.

@@cyrusaugustus4640 I literally said that earrings and chains (necklaces) are the best for 24k. Those are the most likely to last as it is not constantly hitting on anything like a ring or bracelet. Pure 24k has a hardness of 2.5/10 while glass is 5.5/10 on the mohs scale. 24k is never reccomended for daily wear especially with rings or bracelets.

Mene = ripoff They sent me a lighter charm than the one I ordered. I attempted to clear up the mix up, they ignored me. After a year and attempt number trice, they offered less than spot for weight.

@TheBagBalm, no he did not buy a women's bracelet. Yes, it is narrower than some, but, when wearing 24K, size does not really regard gender. It doesn't work like that. That bracelet is so cool!
