Hey man, I want to thank you for making this video. I just bought my 2020 Honda SI coupe for 25k in grey and it has been awesome ever since. I love taking this thing to the track - all the way to the supermarket. before I bought my car I showed this video to my parents for them to see how good of a car this is. They immedietly agreed with your claim and I got one. So from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much lol!

Listening to it and seeing it in corners, it takes me back to the 79 vw scirroco I had when I was much much younger. Was a great little car.

Bought my first car when I was 19 in 1986 and the Si was brand new but I wanted an Iroc only my bank account did not agree so I bought the 86 Si for around $8k. Back then ac and radio were options so I opted out on both. Added a Sparkomatic radio with a Radio Shack power booster/ equalizer, Pioneer speakers plus built my own giant subwoofer box complete with dual 12" Radio Shack drivers and a Jenson amp. Loved that car. Had zero issues with it and have owned several since including my current 2015 Si. Great video!

Huh -- I've been driving Si's for 20 years and just learned it stands for "Sport Injected"! I always thought it was "Sport Influenced," while my friends lightly joke that it stands for "Slightly Improved."

As an 07 Fg2 owner I'm sitting hear thinking damn! The 8th gen was the time for a factory tuned k20 turbo coupe....thank you comptech guys btw!

Enjoyed hearing your take on the refreshed Civic SI. It must have been a huge turnout of media and influencers at the Honda event! If I didn’t miss any points, your biggest negative was the armrest? Since I rarely use an armrest in my vehicles, I’m getting the idea that I might just be happy with the SI! I’ve told many people over the years that when in doubt, just buy the Honda! I think your drive did a nice job of highlighting the real world capabilities of the car!

I just bought mine in black with red accents and I love it.

All my friends and family either have a Honda Civic Si or Subaru WRX somewhere in their household driveway. Whether it be a 1995 Honda Civic Si Coupe, 2007 8th gen Si Sedan, 2008 Subaru Impreza WRX Hatchback, or 2016 WRX Sedan. In the absence of snow and on equal summer tires, everybody is still always surprised how an Old Honda NA VTEC keeps up readily on highway speeds with turboed Subaru Impreza WRX's in similar model years. Of course, if you see a lot of snow in your seasons, there are few greater feelings in the world than a manual Subaru WRX with winter tires tearing up on Christmas Eve. Even nowadays you can see some great drivers in the new Turbo 4 2019 Subaru WRX's and Honda Civic Si's holding up well with guys in NA V6's. Now, the Kia Forte GT, Hyundai Elantra Sport, and Veloster Turbo Manuals supposedly offer competitive performance at strong prices, and their ability to last 20 years with little more than oil changes remains to be seen, but I sure hope to see more of them at the local tracks soon.

Would definitely be nice if they added the auto rev matching to the Si. I mean Toyota even put it on their Corolla manual hatchback now.

Hey Raiti, I love your videos!! I just wanted to let you know you said 26 City, 30 HWY mpg. I'm sure you were just admiring the car so much that you mixed up the second number! I think it's 36 mpg on the highway?

The problem with the flat black rims is that they get dirty very easy and cleaning them is a huge pain from the dirt potentially staining them from the texture and feel to it making everything stick to them. Work at a car wash and cleaning matte rims are impossible to fully look like they were from the factory. Have a 17 si and the gloss is the best. Easy to clean and you can make them look better than the factory look.

I love this car but I’d love it even more if they did two things: make an AWD option and make it a hatch instead of a trunk (even for the coupe model). That would be a dream.

You really do get a lot for that $25,000 price point. Sure there are better performance cars if money were no object, but out here in the real world it can be a struggle to purchase any car, let alone a performance car. The SI is a little gem that gives you some performance to have fun with, and a car that will take care of you on a daily basis. Thanks for the awesome review!!

You tested the car in Inspirada!! I've "tested" a few cars myself in that neighborhood. Used to live in Anthem. Next time youre over there, try some of those hills in Anthem. Great "testing" area as well

Ordered my 2020 si coupe last month! Hopefully will be here by the end of this month.

I recently purchased one and have already put 750 miles in a week! Absolutely love this car. Although if I may point out one thing about the pedal set up, it is not heel-toe friendly at all.

Finally a good looking civic Si

I’m a little biased because we’ve owned several Hondas, including a 2005 Civic Si (and an Acura ILX). But I think the Civic Si is the best compact sporty car value on the market. The Velosters are up there, too, but to me they look and feel “cheap” compared to the Civics. Also, while I prefer the looks of the Si coupe, I’d probably opt for the sedan. It’s just more usable, being able to easily put stuff in the backseat, hang a suit jacket, etc. but it’s also because the coupe’s doors are huge. You’d have to watch how you park to make sure you can get the door open far enough to get in and out. No such issue with a sedan.

The updates look good for sure! But how does 205 HP close the gap to the type-R? I mean I have an Acura RSX type s and it already makes 200HP all motor (no turbo lag) as opposed to the new civic which must have at least some turbo lag for basically the same HP. Why not give it a bump to 230 or something?

I would like a carbon fiber kit, for the trim around the window, that would be somthing new and unique, if it could be done with quality, along with a legal tint, and carbon fiber surrounds for the fake vent cutouts?

Yes! I believe this is the best budget performance car, hands down. Especially with all the new improvements. I would opt for a Aegean Blue Metallic sedan, though. I am glad they blacked out the wheels, which I like even better than the previous ones, instead of the bright finish wheels on the previous Si. The chrome window trim is not a biggie, and it matches the chrome Honda badges, but... for the Si, they should have did the smoked chrome trim like on the Accord Sport and HR-V Sport grill, or blackout to the badges and window trim, or like for the Toyota Camry, have optional accessory black out window trim covering like they have aftermarket for the Accord, and also for the front and real Honda Badges and trunk emblem. I like they color keyed update to the foglight fascia and rear on the Si Sedan and Sport Hatchback. The LED headlights is not only blacked out, but on the Si, and Sport Touring Hatchback, I believe they are brighter, and have improved projection than the previous version. It would have been nice if they had the simulated leather trim from the 2018 Civic Sport Sedan/Coupe and now, the 2020 Sport Hatchback on the door panels and center console and armrest. The dashboard anodized trim is nice, but I think that was also an option accessory for the 2019 Civic Sport Sedan/Coupe in various colors, along with optional black wheels with matching color stickers that seem to add the bling factor. They offer the HFP package for the Si again, but I would pass on that, because I don't like the looks if the optional wheels and such, even though I believe it has suspension and brake improvements. I would add those other pieces besides the wheels if made available, like the should for the Camry TRD suspension and brake parts. I know the gearing ratios were improved, and I believe improved sound deadening on the Si and Sport Civics. And the exhaust sounds really nice! To me, with the above mentioned items, other than certain OEM accessories and the few things I would add, such as tinted windows, license plate frames and clear covers, dashcam, and some dress up anodized aluminum underhood pieces and a strut tower brace., the other other thing I really wish came with the car is a CD player and auxiliary audio input jack. Ideally, if I had $40K+, I would like a 2020 blue two tone Toyota Camry XSE V6 with the aftermarket exhaust and the TRD wheels, brakes and suspension pieces, or a new Aoex Blue Pearl Acura ILX A-spec with black leather and the techbology package with that ELS stereo system and the previous non turbo Si engine and DCT transmission, but .ore affordably, I would get the 2020 Civic Sport Sedan, and am seriously considering getting the 6 speed for durability, reliability and longevity. But now that the Sport Hatchback finally has all the other goodies from the Sport Sedan/Coupe, and the cosmetic upgrades, I might even consider the Sport Hatchback again, but now, even an Si. And if they had a blue one at my local dealership, and I had the money, I would buy it today. I know since it comes one way, unlike some other vehicles, I know it has everything, except for accessories that can be added on later. I ironically, I got a friend request on FB with 29 mutual friends that is in executive sales at my local Honda dealership that is a few blocks away from where I work, so I know who to contact if I want a Honda now.
