This was a top level review with outstanding video quality- second to none. He covered everything from A to Z quite well. I really enjoyed it! Many people have criticized the Mach 1 for being a "parts bin" car. It's never a bad thing when the parts come from the right bin.

No need to spend $60k if you want a Mach one. Get the 600A package with the Tremec manual which has an MSRP of $54,595. Then contact the Ford dealer in Des Moines, Iowa and he'll sell you that same Mach 1 for even less. Invoice price to be exact. He's currently sold 120+ Mach 1's. Search the Mustang6G forum for details.

Excellent job on the review! And for the first time in a long time I find myself wanting a Mustang. This Mustang. My last one, a 1967 notchback with a 289, was my first car. Things have obviously changed since then. Glad to see they’ve nailed it with this one. 😎

Thanks! Yeah, this is a pretty great all around package. Sure, there's the Mustangness of some of the interior bits and what not, but it's a really solid dual purpose machine, especially in the 50ish range. And those PS4s are all the tire a sane person really needs 😉👍🏻

When I watched the first part of your video I was less than impressed. I thought you were just another fanboy who wants to get into Ford's good graces and suck up to them over the Mach 1. However, after the combination of the adventure-like nature of the video, your honest discussion of the car's pluses and minuses, and that you seemed sincere about what Ford was trying to achieve with this vehicle, I've got to give you credit. Good job! I enjoyed the video and appreciated your honest discussion- especially about the pricing. I'm in a similar, but not same boat, and can't put down THAT kind of money for that vehicle- instead I'm getting the GT Premium with the handling pack. Not the same, but pretty freakin' good. Again, really good job! Thank you!

Just ran across your page and I'm hooked, love the quality if your videos! I was hard on the Mach 1 when it first came out the more reviews I've read/watched then I looked into what they have done with this car then my I thought differently. The ONLY thing I don't like about the Mustang and a lot of cars today is the digital dash. Personally I'd buy a NC Miata club sport even still I feel this is a more then decent replacement for the GT 350 without the price. Keep up the good work I'll be watching for sure.

Thanks so much! I was cynical about the Mach 1, too, but it's a much more compelling replacement for the GT350 than something like the Bullit, which is more marketing driven. I'm split on digital dashes, myself. I love the simplicity of legible analogue gauges, but the graphics on the Mach 1 are really cool, crystal clear, and the different layouts actually have relevant and meaningful differences. All Mopar until tempted by the CTS-V wagon. Bought one, liked it, and did not fall into an abyss. My next temptation was the S550. Bought a Mach 1. Unusually fun to drive at reasonable speeds. It’s also fun to drive at unreasonable speeds, but most cars are.

If you can pick one up for MSRP do it!! I searched for two weeks for mine and found 1 tiny little dealer selling one for MSRP. Every single other dealer in a 200 mile radius wants $5-12 K over sticker and they’re getting it. I felt incredibly lucky to pick mine up at MSRP.

Excellent review and I think you were spot on. I went from a 2019 PP1 with auto to a 2021 Mach 1 with the manual. I like the Mach 1 so much more.......

You were underestimating that car in the beginning. Glad you put it through its paces lol! That car you drove is basically the equivalent of a performance pack level 1 GT minus the cosmetic differences, and 20 HP. You won’t feel the 20hp difference. The handling pack as you said takes it up another notch. That Mach 1 would have easily hung with all of the cars at the Chevron. I know this because I drive with that group and I can hang with them in my 17 GT in the mountains and leave them behind on the straights “ I’m supercharged “ Overall well done review.

Thanks so much! Yeah, I probably was underestimating it, considering it a little more of a dress up package than substantial. It really surprised me, though, and I think it represents a nice sweet spot for the enthusiastic daily driver. I'll have to come out and run with y'all in my Corvette sometime. The Mustang has been a serious player since around 2011 as far as turns go. Check out the 2011 Motortrend track review where Randy Pobst drove the M3, and GT around the same track. The Mustang really got serious in 2015 when the S550 platform came out. And at the end of the day it will be more reliable than anything BMW. I don’t care if they do have better plastics lol.

I live in Braselton, straight up 85. I actually used to live right there at that Dahlonega gas station corner as well, right off 60. I have a Mach 1 arriving in Oct/Nov, with almost every option on it. If you want to use it for comparison videos in the future just let me know. I really enjoyed your review here and I believe I have watched every single one on the Mach 1 to help pass the time till it gets here haha

My 2023 Mach1 in this color combo and in this more “base” trim without the HP but with the Tremec arrives in 2weeks. I’m hoping to get it for $60,000. The MSRP is $63,000. It’s not in the mid $50’s more like mid $60’s. Pricing is high but I’m hopping to get a small discount for trading and financing. I liked this review a lot.

4:12 I specced the Mach 1 and the 1LE online and don‘t agree with them being in the same price range. About 20% difference if you spec them similar. Still love the look of the Mach 1. Especially in that Fighter Jet Grey with Handling Package.

Thank you for the video! You can get a fully decked out 2SS1LE for $50k (which has the Tremec TR-6060)... And a ZL1 for $64k.. both out perform the Mach 1 w/handling package, which runs $60k+. As for interior.. I love my 2021 ZL1 interior and from looking at the Mach 1 interior my ZL1 interior blows it away. Alcantara everywhere, HUD, spectrum lighting, much better Recaro seats (which are also heated and cooled), much better steering wheel (also heated like the Mach 1), performance data recorder (PDR), rear view mirror camera, etc. Not that I hate the Mach 1, just seems way overpriced for what you get (almost bought one). On that note, probably buying my wife a convertible Mustang 2019+ tomorrow :*( lol.

A 2SS 1LE (A10) and ZL1 (A10), at least in my market and as I'd spec them, would have MSRPs of about $53K and $68.5K, and no dealer that I know of will order one (a '22) for less than MSRP in today's climate (and there are ZERO '21's on any lots within hundreds of miles). The M1 as I'd spec it (A10 and non-HP) is at about $58K. So, yea it's more than the SS1LE, but quite a bit less than the ZL1. I don't think the M1 at $58K is outrageous (it's only about $3K more than a regular GT with performance pack and magnaride). I can see the allure of all three options for various reasons, but the M1 is a player to be considered for sure.

@@jax1079 It would be a blast! I grabbed mine in the lazy mans a10 iteration and it's just insane, lol. I hear people talk about visibility being an issue but I have zero visibility issues (especially with the combination of blind spot detection and the wide lens rearview camera mirror).

@@WillGreenZilla I did test drive a 2017 ZL1 a few months ago and the interior was pretty good. I was surprised that the recaro's were fairly comfortable and the acceleration was stunning. Whether to go M1 or spring for a ZL1 for another 10G is a tough question (at least for those that consider 10G a meaningful sum of money).

Love the car other than it's not a real Mach 1. Ford is totally messing up all their original names lately. They did not put the shaker hood scoop on the car which is the biggest mistake of all. Instead they decided to put stupid stickers. It's like saying the Supra is a real Supra.
