12:20 yes, you can save your file using a RetroN 5, replace the battery and rewrite it to the cart. Also, there's a kind of GameShark for GBC that can store and rewrite saves, look for it on Amazon.

I noticed the input lag soon as I hooked my 360 to my HDTV for the first time and played COD MW 2.

If you change the battery to a cartridge while the game is in the system and running you can keep your save. It is a very dangerous way to do it though...

Its possible to bump the save file from an original cartridge games on a RetroFreak. This retro console is really solid and its to consider if your're looking for an alternative for a retron5.

Awesome episode! Really appreciate your guys insight and commentary! I multitask all the time especially when it comes to Tv or Movies especially when a show or movie is okay but still good! Even though I might miss some parts, I still know what's going on and I get two things done at once. Then I can still talk about if someone mentions it. And I agree with you guys Reality TV like Big Brother is especially easy to multitask to because some of these shows take forever even though this season of Big Brother is crazy and so fun to watch!

I replaced the batteries in my Pokémon Gold &a Silver cartridges as well as my Pokémon Emerald cartridge. I was surprised they had died so soon, but glad it's so easy to change them.

I usually watch TV while playing the main series Pokemon games. I can look up at the screen for a few seconds while exploribg or battling, and if the show gets too intense and I want to watch, I'll close my 3DS.

Justin... the increased input lag for retro games is because the TV needs to apply more processing to scale the resolution... modern games are closer to the native TV resolution, so less processing is required. Also, Sega Soccer Slam is great...

I love grinding some in a game while listening to a podcast. It makes those mindless hours of doing the same action that much more bearable, and since its something I'm doing out of muscle memory I can focus on what I'm listening. It came to a point that I won't even start any kind of grind unless I have something to entertain me with, or else I start snoozing in 5 minutes.

I was grinding some achievements that required 100's of certain kinds of kills while listening to this. I do this all the time when I am not playing story driven games.

I was playing Bloodborne while listening to the newest episode of Critical Role today. Though an RPG with a lot of dialogue and character development, I'll focus solely on IT, otherwise I'm usually listening to something else while I'm gaming. I was playing Watchdogs 2 while listening/watching this ep of SCOOP! ;)

Re: podcast speed, I regularly listen to all my podcasts at 1.7x speed. Podcasts are my primary form of media to consume and I listen to A LOT of them. 1.7x is the fastest I can listen to and still be able to comprehend. Plus, whenever I find a new podcast, I usual binge them from the beginning, so it helps me catch up much quicker. I will slow down for music occasionally though.

The last two games have been games I've never heard of. I get they it's fun to stump the panel; but we, the listeners, are playing, too, and if we /can't/ win, it's no fun.

On your question about video streaming/Netflix, the streaming app Nicallis a Japanese twitch KZfaq hybrid is being released for Japan. So that should mean Netflix and KZfaq are coming.

Regarding "small screen" video game stuff, I preferred the FFXV Brotherhood anime to the actual game. I did finish the main game, but I'd be more interested in more Brotherhood over DLC or going back for side quests.

If anything deserves title of best video game adaptation, surely that'd be Pokemon...

Well if by "Early Access" you mean getting 2 of the best games ever made on any system (BotW and MK8D) as well as two of the most fun and creative games on any system (Splatoon 2 and ARMS), and being able to play them fully in portable mode anywhere too, all in the first 4 months of the console's life, I'd say damn son that's one fucking hell of an early access!

Great effort on FIFA and PES guys. But it gets even weirder when you know more: 1) The UEFA Champions League is not licensed on FIFA, but the teams are. So while PES has a recreation of the tournament, with the official music etc., most of the teams have the unlicensed names, like Man Red (for Manchester Utd). In FIFA this is the Champions Cup. 2) It got extra complicated with FIFA 17 and PES 17 with Barcelona, whose stadium is exclusive to PES. PES is arguably the better recreation of the stadia and players, but this is achievable because they have to / can focus on the few teams they have fully licensed in special deals. They added Arsenal and Liverpool, but this changes season to season. As a West Brom fan I'd love us to make a special deal with Konami, as it'd be an important source of income for my club, versus the insane riches of the TV and other licenses the top clubs maintain their status with. In exchange PES' cover heavily features Barcelona, but because it's Barca that's a pretty good way of endorsing / branding the game.

So Sunset Riders was definitely an arcade game 1st by Konami (not Treasure). Then soon ported to SNES (the best console version) and Genesis (also a great port).

I got the 20 questions game only because I own it and loved it. It is called Blackhawk on the PAL SNES because there is a cider called Blackthorne in the UK and it was before you could use existing names. Starfox was called Starwolf over here and the N64 version was called Lylat Wars, which is unfortunate as there is a ladies sanitary product called lilet and that is what immature (not me, honest) people called the game - lilet wars.

No system, be it video game or otherwise, is the same as when it launches. It always grows over time - be it iOS, PS4, Wii U or indeed Switch.

4:10 Actually the 3DS didn't even have the eShop at launch, Nintendo did it in the past.

The Switch doesn't need apps right now or for a long time. They need to focus on games and have it be strictly for games only. Plus we can watch Netflix, Hulu and other streaming services through a lot devices and our smart TVs.

Also, I take out about fifteen hours of podcasts per week. 1.5x for everything except Alice Isn't Dead. (Also audio books)

Nintendo released the switch early to launch with zelda, If not it would have been released in October/Novemeber with Mario and zelda for launch titles. They just didn't want people Buying the wii u version and not caring about the switch.

Yeah, but I feel like that is usually sort of the case with modern game consoles first year. But it's especially bad for the Switch.

Clone consoles like the Retron 5 are probably the easiest way for the average joe to backup SNES saves before replacing a cart battery.... even if playing the games on them is hot garbage

For the $20 a year I do expect more than NESflix.. We should have cloud storage for data backups as well. I love the UI.. its non-intrusive and simple. PS4's UI is good too, but shit like PS Now is a waste of money.
