@@biblewalkwithjohn How does anybody know when they have found the correct church. Or for that matter the correct religion. When a child is born in India they are raised to be a good Hindu. Other children are raised to be Buddhist or jewish or Islam or Mormon or Seventh Day Adventists or Jehovah’s Witnesses or Baptist, or Catholic, or Methodist A (approve of gay) or Methodist B (disapprove of gay) . They are all faithful to the religion that they were born into. How does somebody "find" the correct church or religion and how do you know when you have "found" the right one?? All of these religions and denominations are certain that they are the "correct" one and that God Almighty has authorized theirs alone as "correct" 🤔🤔

Only true biblical Christianity stands alone in making the claims it makes: "Thomas said to Him, "Lord, we do not know where You are going; how do we know the way?" Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me." John 14, infra. Let's just see who is left standing on judgment day. The rest will be standing at the GWTJ. Revelation 20: 11-15.

@@randyorr9443The answer is simple: Throw away all uninspired human creeds. No Methodist Book of Discipline. No Baptist Church Manual. No Catechism. Take the Bible alone as the chief authority; and inspired word of GOD. 2 Timothy 3:16-17. Besides GOD having revealed HIMSELF through HIS creation, HE also revealed HIMSELF through HIS written word. GOD did this through men whom HE inspired. The Judeo-Christian Bible is a blueprint. It's a road map. If one does not follow the road map, that person may become lost. If one does not follow the blueprint, the building will not be constructed according to plan. Methodists? Baptists? Catholics? Presbyterians? Episcopalians? Pentecostals? Where are these groups mentioned in the New Testament? These groups are mentioned nowhere. However, you do find that the 1st century believers were referred to as Christians; and Christians only. Acts 11:26. Throw away man-made creeds into the trash. Take the Bible, and the Bible alone, as the sole source of authority.🌅🙏🛐

There are dozens of sacred scripture throughout the world that, just like the Bible, CLAIM to be the one true word of God and inspired by God. for example, in the Quran it says: Surat Ar-Rahman [55:1-4] - The Noble Qur'an - القرآن الكريم Surat Ar-Rahman [verses 1-4] - The Most Merciful Allah Taught the Qur'an, Created man, [And] taught him eloquence. There are many other verses in the Quran where the Quran states it is the unchanging and last transmission from Allah to the prophet Muhammad. It is stated in the Bhagavad-gītā, by Hare Krishna that Yes, this is literally the word of God, Sri Krishna. Same for the Tibetan Book of the Living & the Dead The Buddhist have their sacred scriptures that were inspired by The list of world religions and associated sacred scriptures is staggering. There are literally hundreds upon hundreds. And every person that grew up in his own culture and religion will tell you that they have the one true religion and the true God. So kind sir, i ask again, with all of these very sacred and established religions around the world out there all with their own sacred scriptures all with very devout and sincere people following that believe in their religion with strong faith and sincerity HOW DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHICH RELIGION IS THE TRUE RELIGION???? Many of these religions are much older than Christianity. Did you personally read and study all of these sacred scriptures and religions before you picked Christianity as your favorite??

I grew up in the UMC from the 60s as a child. I never heard one word about salvation through faith in Christ, repentance, or turning from sin; nor do I ever remember hearing of the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary except in passing as sermons were more geared to addressing social and racial issues in our country and society. This "denomination" has, IMHO, been apostate for YEARS.

I never thought of myself as "saved." That's a Baptist/Pentacostal/evangelical notion. My grandmother thought a true Christian never drinks, and anyone who has wine for Communion is a bad Christian.

As someone who grew up in the EUB church prior to its takeover by the Methodists, my opinion of the Methodist church was that it was a great church to belong to if you wanted to sell insurance or real estate. But not so great if you wanted salvation.

In the late 1940s, my grandfather used the phrase "born again" while speaking w his Methodist pastor, who informed him he believed "born again" was a Baptist term. So my grandfather showed him it's a Bible term, and began attending a Baptist church.

My grandfather was a Minister who left UMC in the 80s because he said they were on a path to Marxism. I didnt realize how right he was. He passed away in 2015 right as this nonsense really started to take off.

@@vict0ree In the early 90s I had a very dim view of the Methodist church and began to experience the Holy Spirit convicting me. I'm not talking about my conscience, I'm saying a gentle but persistent grieving and communication in my spirtit I was wrong was taking place. But I persisted in my attitude. Not long after, I received a phone call from a telemarketer selling grave plots at a local cemetary, and if I would agree to have a salesman come to my home, I would get a discount on a graveplot. I agreed. The man who came was a Methodist pastor. This man was so filled with the Holy Spirit I could actually see a subtle white glow about him. I am serious. This man told me half the Methodist church was going apostate and he warned his congregation to stay faithful to God's Word. The presence of God with this man was palpable at that time in my home, and I didn't want him to leave, lol. Well, apparently, I was half right according to him, there are some good Methodists who are faithful to God. I told the Lord I was sorry for being stubborn to accept His conviction and was so glad to know some faithful Methodists are out there.

God graciously saved me while I was a member of a United Methodist Church. He saved me by his good pleasure and through conviction in reading His word. If anything, it might have been in spite of what I heard from the pulpit and not because of it.

I'm 15 seconds into the video. I have to stop and comment already. The girl in the first insert says, "I got tired of having to choose between my church and my partner" To her, I say this, "If you can't choose Jesus over your partner then you are not a Christian." That's the point of being a Christian. Nothing and no one comes before him, PERIOD. I may have to respond to other stupidity later on. I'm only 17 seconds in.

While I'm no biblical expert, I have a problem with your comment that Christ never asked for your opinion. Please take a look at Matt 16:13, where Jesus asked his disciples their opinion of who Jesus is. In fact, Jesus did ask questions or opinions of religious leaders.

In our UM Church meeting, our minster told me when I quoted scripture that we just had a different interpretation of the bible. Him being for the changes and me being against them. The rest of my church refused to speak up and sat there like sheep. One of the most profoundly sad days of my life. I know how Jesus felt when all abandoned him. I left the UMC that day and will be going to a Global Methodist Church that still believes in teaching the Bible. I truly hope God will soften the hearts of the UMC and turn them so they don't burn.

I heard an Episcopal priest say of the ECUSA "We are Biblically illiterate. We read books about the Bible but don't read the Bible." I think they same thing can be said of the UMC.

God will give up on you is just another reason Christianity is just Bull Crap. Like the time God regretted that he even mad man so he killed everything except Noah and his family and a boat full of animals. Why would God kill all the little babies on the planet.?? That is worse than Hitler. God also hardened the heart of Pharaoh and the Egyptians. That takes away their free will. God also asked Abraham to kill his son just to prove he was loyal to God. God said it is ok to beat your slaves if they do not die within a day or two. God is jealous. God is vengeful. Leviticus 26:29; God describes how he will punish people by making them eat the flesh of their own sons and daughters. Deuteronomy 22:28-29; God’s punishment for the raping of a virgin is to pay her father 50 shekels of silver and marry her for life. Deuteronomy 21:18-21; God demands we kill disobedient teenagers by Stoning. And of course God hates gay people. Not only is Christianity wrong, it is horrific .

Bummer when God forgets that he cant be seperated from us and totally gives up on us. I guess God is a little absent minded and forgets what he has written. Romans 8:38-39 in the Bible says, "For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord

Sad, tragic. These "leaders" of the UMC are lost. They are leading others down a path away from Jesus and biblical teaching. We recently disafiliated and I feel relieved we got out when we did. For those that didn't get out, hoping things wouldn't be as bad as predicted. Leave! Walk away from this apostasy!! There are plenty of churches that believe in The bible, that want Jesus in their heart and to live according to His teachings.... leave. Find another church. If you didn't disafiliate when you could, they are not gonna want to let you go! Money, money, money! They left you, when they chose this evil path. There is talk of things getting much worse. Imagine The Lord's Prayer.... what will they change? Oh my heart is saddened at this turn the UMC has taken. 😢 pray for these churches and members. 🙏

And-It's not just the UMC, that are guilty of doing this. Many other Religious Denominations are, bit by bit, turning on the Holy Bible, and doing this very same thing. We're most definitely seeing the "Great Falling Away", that the Holy Bible speaks of.

The bishops hijacked the church. Karen Oliveto hijacked the church. I left Methodism. I worked at my church for five years, our great great great grandfather was an itinerant teacher who rode horseback across the colonies to preach Methodism. My grandparent served at the church. Methodism bowed to man's culture instead of the obedience of God's Word. I will say my ex-church, who is centrist, is trying to return to traditional Wesleyan-ism so there is hope for them. This has been profoundly upsetting...like the agony of a divorce.

I've pastored rural United Methodist Churches for 35 years. The two I currently serve both voted to disaffiliate and join the Global Methodists. So did most of the UM churches in our area. It is time for people to flee the United Laodicean Church.

We have remained independent but have forged relationships with other area churches that had already been started. We are still Methodist tradition, which is good, but NOT UMC.

I have heard pastors tell me scripture is just not that important and they just refuse to use scripture in their sermons. AND they refuse to consider teaching scripture. I am a third generation Methodist preachers kid. Sad.

Matthew 24:15-16 ESV "So when you see the abomination of desolation spoken of by the prophet Daniel, standing in the holy place ( let the reader understand), [16] then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.” Christians individually and collectively are the temple of God and His holy place so to let the teaching they are espousing enter their hearts and gatherings is an abomination. My experience with family is that non heterosexuality is an abomination and leads to desolation (extreme loneliness)

Yes, this is sad. But why now? Why over this issue? The UMC tolerated ministers and seminaries denying every major doctrine of the faith for 100 years. This is just the end of that compromise.

Amen. Even "Evil" Trees bear fruit, although, of course, it's evil fruit. It might have taken more time than expected, but now we get a clear picture of the evil that had begun to grow, even ever so long ago. I have heard, though, that not all of the United Methodist Churches are like this, and that at least some of them have broken away from the more Liberal People, that wanted this stuff, in the first place.

Every single one of them is out of alignment with biblical Christianity because Paul spends the entirety of 1 Cor. 1 preaching against sectarianism. Sectarianism results from ppl disagreeing with God and elevating doctrines of men above God's revelation. All of the "Christian" denominations call God a liar on different subjects.

I left the UMC in 1976 after a sermon entitled "Ontogeny Recapitulates Phylogeny." Dr Ray Balcom was showing off by using the fancy buzz-phrase that means "the growth of the individual mimics the pattern of evolution." The bottom line of Dr Balcom's sermon (in his own words) was, "The Bible is nothing more than the history of man's ideas about who a god might be." This fifth-generation Methodist with preachers on both my mother's and father's side of the family walked out.

I knew this 30 years ago. Thanks to the founder of American Family Association having been a Methodist pastor, most reporting on bad church practices was about Methodist doings. That was in the ‘90s. I was absolutely appalled back then. Sorry, I’ve been skeptical of them ever since. But since 2000 learning most “mainstream” American versions of churches are apostate. The last decade has been very disheartening with them all falling away, including full- bore nonsense in our Lutheran church.

Yes, we are Christians! We love Jesus Christ, God our creator, through the Holy Spirit and we love every human being, who was wonderfully made by God. By the way: Jesus never said anything about two man or two women loving each other. nothing. But he said many things about money, the rich, feeding the hungry, visiting the people in prison. So before you judge which you shouldn't (Romans 2!), ask yourself when was the last time you visited someone in prison (Matthew 25) ;)

I wonder why the bride of Christ would be called United Methodist Church? Baptist Church? or any other denomination? You do not have to be a member of any denomination, so why be one? But you do have to be a member of the Lord's Church. In Acts 2 it says that after they had received the word and were baptized, the Lord added them to the saved, his church. v41&v47 So, when I received his word and was baptized in the name of Jesus, the Lord added me to the saved.

@@biblewalkwithjohn Here is what I meant. While I do encourage people to attend the Church of Christ on Earth. it is not the true Church that I speak of. It is the truest form of Christ's Church on Earth. The true Church is the spiritual Church of Christ. This is the Church that melds the mind, body and soul to the will of God. This is the Church that has Christ as the head of the Church. There isn't a Synod, or Pope, etc.. between man and Christ The question is, "Can a person be in the Church of Christ on Earth, and not be in the Spiritual Church of Christ?" Absolutely this can happen and does quite often. Unless one has followed the Gospel Plan laid out in Acts 2, then they will be separated from God for eternity. Thanks.

Pastor John, After seeing this video dragging the UMC denomination into the mud due to the results of the 2024 General Conference, it saddens me to see these posts condemning the UMC. This has been brewing for well over a decade. I’m a lifetime member of the UMC, and will continue serving Christ in the UMC. I’m not a cheerleader for the LGBTQ, but Jesus stated that the two greatest commandments are to love God with all your heart and love your neighbor as yourself. In Matt 7:3 Jesus asked the conservative religious leaders on why do they see the speck in their brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in their own eye? The UMC issues with LGBTQ are a speck in the UMC’s eye, but conservative American Christians have a huge plank in their eyes, and they are the apostates who support the” Golden Calf” for POTUS and Christian nationalism.

There are churches that are autonomous. No national or world regional dictator. Each congregation chooses their own leaders and they are charged with leading the congregation spiritually by biblical examples only . All "faiths" do not lead to God - some "faiths" don't believe in God (or a god). After taking a comparative religion course in college (a Buddist taught it - but he was good) he explained that any "religion" that ended in "ISM" means - doctrine, philosophical system, philosophy, school of thought. - and was/is made up by humans and not God (or a god). Colossians 2:8 is one of my favorite verses.
