Today we are going to take a first look at a budget fishing reel by ExBert. It is a shallow spool BFS style reel that comes in at 143g (says 145g online) and is a very similar price to the Seasir Cast X. I am hoping this reel will perform equally to the Cast X but be lighter and more stylish looking. This reel has a fast gear ratio compared to its competitors at 8.1:1 which may interest some people. The handle despite looking heavy is only 2 grams lighter than a typical carbon handle with Daiwa/Dark Wolf Ultra style knobs (18g vs 16g).

I bet they were damaged before they were sent then. I'm not expecting too much out of it, as long as it's casts 3g, is easy to tune and the brakes are passable I'll be happy.

The Cast X is one that stays attached. Makes ita tad harder to get the spool out though.

For such a terrible named reel and some horrific english translations on the box it sure looks decent 👍. I wouldn't have been game enough to buy it with out some one else recommending it first 😂. That spool looks ultra light, very impressive.

This has one of the worst names but the English on the box is about average. A friend yesterday got a $35 Temu reel and it was verging on complete nonsense on the box.

Yea and first cast tests are showing its heavily over braked. I blew up the spool pretty quickly so didn't get to properly test.

Can the seasir cast X be used with heavier baits too? I would be casting baits weighing about 10-30 grams. What do you think? Been loving the vids you have made about the Seasir and I'm about to get one myself.

Definitely 10-15. I've never tested 30 on it. Maybe this reel is better, the brakes are stronger on it but then again it doesn't have a deep spool so you are probably wanting that if you're going to cast 30g? Or are we talking cod lures?

@@yep.fishing I would occasionally cast jigs weighing 12g, then spoons weighing about 20g.

This reel would be good, it’s heavily braked, I actually had to remove 2 of the 10 brakes and it’s casting well now. Updated video hopefully come out tomorrow with final review
