I've had many jobs and none of them were easy. Some of them were very painful physically and emotionally, but all of them were a blessing.

Well. Work in and of itself is a blessing indeed. My job on the other hand... I try to have an eternal perspective on the topic. My vocation is becoming closer to Jesus character and evangelizing the good news. My job pays my bills.

Working for Christ Jesus and to serve God and serve others is a blessing. God works, so we also work in Christ to serve His people. So working is a blessing from God in Christ. God works we work. God rest then we rest in Christ.( period)..

Leviticus 4:27-5:13( ESV) "27 " If anyone of the common people sins unintentionally in doing any one of the things that by the LORD's commandments ought not to be done, and realize his guilt, 28 or the sin which he has committed is made known to him, he shall bring for his offering a goat, a female without blemish, for his sin which he has committed. 29 And he shall lay his hand on the head of the sin offering and kill the sin offering in the place of burnt offering. 30 And the priest shall take some of its blood with his finger and put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering and pour out all the rest of its blood at the base of the altar. 31 And all its fat he shall remove, as the fat is removed, as the fact is removed from the peace offerings, and the priest shall burnt it on the altar for a pleasing aroma to the LORD. I’ve never seen the scriptures in this way before. Thank God for this video! I have more clarity on this topic now. Working simply because we “have to” can feel lonely and discouraging after a while. Boring, burdensome. But working in the name Jesus helps us feel like our original self. Tending and caring for our work helps us reconnect with God and feel His spirit stronger! 😃😁🙌

My first thought is that it's a neutral thing that has good parts and bad parts... It's supposed to be fulfilling but obviously has been tainted by the curse

Work helps your social well being as well as exercise to a extent, gets you awake even though some schedules make you tired before/after. Still all those hours/days I could be enjoying my life on beautiful weekdays/mornings?

All this life is cursed and meaningless in the end. Unless a person learns to do it onto the Lord that whatever we do we do it onto the Lord. Unless a person learns to position the heart towards God in Christ for all things to honor him then all things become vanity every pleasure and every suffering all meaningless and cursed. Ecclesiastes even speaks of this that everything even wisdom is vanity meaning empty, the secret is to take pleasure in God to do it for God in eternal relationship with him so it no longer is meaningless and empty of eternal life

This is a cop out answer. If my job is painful and frustrating bc of the curse then the job is a curse. Furthermore, this episode over spiritualized and dismissed when one's work is deadening and soul crushing. We strive for excellence in what we do and God sometimes has us in holding patterns so we can learn something. But what about when one's job still sucks?

I can’t figure out how to enjoy life, since it seems to be about 90% work. You go to work for 8 hours and then come home and do more work in the form of household chores. How do we have time to enjoy anything in life? I don’t get it.

I bind myself to know and see my work for God to be a blessing while binding to hell to perceive work as burdensome, I bind my familie, friends, colleagues, neighbours, acquitances, opponents and the body of Christ to know and perceive one's work for God to be a blessing while binding to hell perceiving work as burdensome, binding to hell being unequally yoked and having any common share with those who do not know and perceive one's work for God to be a blessing but as burdensome instead, in accordance with this word and genesis 2:15, genesis 3:17-19, romans 8:20, ephesians 2:8-10, matthew 11:28, 1 peter 4:11, 1 corinthians 15:10, 1 corinthians 15:58, romans 12:2, colossians 3:23, 2 corinthians 6:14-18 in the name and blood of Jesus Christ, amen and hallelujah! ❤

Both? To work is a blessing, but work in a fallen state is affected by the fall/accursed.

If we read carefully, it's not work that is a curse. It's the ground which man works on for food that was cursed. I like to read the "curse" of work parallel to, or alongside the "curse" of childbirth. Childbirth itself is a blessing. It's a blessing to bring a child into the world, just as it is written: "God BLESSED them and said, 'Be fruitful and multiply...'" However, what was a curse was the PAIN during childbirth. Similarly, the food or fruit or reward which comes from work is itself a blessing of the work. For it says even of Joseph, that "God BLESSED the work of his hands". This statement implies that all the works of Joseph bore fruit, to the extent that both Portiphar and the Prison Warden promoted him when they noticed it. They promoted him because the work of his hands was BLESSED. So work isn't a curse. In fact, it's a blessing. The real intention of the work given to man is to give him a way to partner with God - it's another means of fellowship with God. God gives the farmer seed and land; the farmer plants the seed into the land; God causes it to rain and causes the seed to grow; the farmer prunes the plant and plays a small part in protecting it from pests; God causes the seed to reach maturity; the farmer harvests and eats. Such is the nature of all godly work. It's a kind of fellowship between God and man - an opportunity to work on a project with the Father in heaven, learning about His power, grace and faithfulness in the process. So actually, when God cursed the ground so that it would not easily bear fruit, this communicated that the fellowship between God and man had become strained on account of sin. God would now limit His power and grace in man's work, so that by the sweat of his brow and by pain, man would notice their significance through their limitation, and therefore perhaps repent and be reconciled with God.

@@IndySibarani I'm sorry, Indy. I really wish that there was a website or link that I could share. But most of this is was revealed to me by the Holy Spirit as I listened to this post, though some of it had been on my mind previously. But I think that John Piper's presentation is very good, as I was inspired while listening to it. As for an article, I think that the Bible is the best Article. You can always be inspired through reading it, no matter how many times you've read it before. Thanks for the kind words, and God bless. 5:20 'so it's not accurate to say that work is a curse. What's accurate is to say that the futility of work is a curse.' Genesis 3 "cursed is the ground for thy sake" Despite the fact that we hear otherwise often, the man himself wasn't cursed. Neither was his work.

@@HearGodsWord Just saying, the point of getting a job is to make a living. You don’t work, you don’t eat. How can someone make a living if companies, corporations, and organizations don’t think of a person enough to pay them something they can live comfortably on.

This world is Cursed if you haven't already figured that out.. the blessing was before Adam fell then the fall came the curse. I believe spoke curses on all three Adam Eve and the serpent DEATH is a curse that Christ looses us from if we abide in if not then the curse remains.
