As the war in Gaza rages on, the death toll keeps increasing and residents face starvation. Despite the heavy civilian toll, the United States keeps voicing its strong support for Israel.
Criticism has been raised of Washington’s approach to Palestinian victims. Is there a double standard when it comes to Palestine? And why do some in the US seem to conflate solidarity with Palestinians with anti-Semitism?
On UpFront, Marc Lamont Hill speaks with Sahar Aziz, professor of law and Middle East legal studies scholar at Rutgers University; and Mitchell Plitnick, president of Rethinking Foreign Policy and co-director of Jewish Voice for Peace, about whether Islamophobia affects US foreign policy.

In September 1970, the Jordanian army targeted the fedayeen and the resultant fighting led to the expulsion of Palestinian fighters from various PLO groups into Lebanon lead by Arafat in retreat. Arafat was trying to overthrow the King in a conflict that became known as Black September. Arafat was invited by the King to station the PLO in Jordan, not so smart. Before the 72 peace deal Jordan was at war with Israel. Israel helped the King of Jordan kept his Kingdom! If Israel allowed the PLO and Arafat to overthrow the Jordanian King the issue of an Arab Palestine State would be a done deal. Arafat would have his Arab Palestine without a Jewish majority, but Israel didn't want a hostile Arab Nation bent on the destruction of the Jewish State living next door to them, so, Israel made a deal with Jordan for peace. Arafat regrouped in Lebanon using the fedayeen to attack inside Israel and overseas, the Munich massacre! Sep 5, 1972 - Sep 6, 1972! Marc Lamont Hill doesn't want you all to remember the "Munich massacre" and other Islamic Terrorism.

Eh, I wouldn't say it's Islamophobia. It's more that US policy is very eurocentric. For all the whining about "race baiting," the truth is, stratifying the value of life along the lines of race has been woven into our social fabric from the beginning. One of the guests brought up the censure of a US representative. The representative used the term, "From the river to the sea" which is indeed hate speech. It's a slogan used in a round about way to call for the end of Israel which is a US ally. So basically after the war crime of Oct 7th she used a slogan calling for an end of Israel. That's a lot. This little fact escaped the guest. Did she deserve censure? In my opinion censure was too far. However she was vastly inconsiderate.
