I have two Israeli Mausers in my collection. One was made by FB Radom (rare) before the IIWW, the other after the war by FN Herstal.. Both in 7,62 NATO with Israeli markings. Both make fun at the range :) Sadly, the Polish one has been through a lot, the barrel is dull with pitting. The Belgian one is in much better condition. Both perform best with original NATO ammunition, the civilian .308 (S&B, GGG) 147 gr (similar to the military) is disappointing in its focus on the target. Beautiful and pleasant to shoot rifles. Rifles with history that, with the right choice of ammunition and after proper barrel care, can still positively surprise. If you can buy one, I recommend it, especially those made by FN Herstal to order for Israel. Solidly made, with beautiful IDF marking on the receiver.

How is it not the Israeli war of independence? After the UN resolution forming a Israeli and Palestinian/arab state the British left the British mandate of Palestine and the Arab- Palestinians and surrounding Arab countries invaded Israel to try to take it, in response Israel fought back and won. I don’t understand how that couldn’t be considered a war of independence.
