Exactly. The way they talked led me to believe there was no money to help the homeless. Turns out it was a lie. Rhode Island, I think, is the state, (there's a homeless/drug video about it on YT,) that has an excellent program for when they get arrested and have a drug problem. The inmates love it and say it's saved their lives.

I am retired from law and I have access to quite a bit of databases around the country especially in San Diego. From what I understand most of the getaways that came in off the beach our gang members. Most of the getaways either have criminal record, are heavily tattooed with gang symbols, I wanted by police. Some of the people that are caught at the border have been deported several times before, so how can you stop these people. WELL YOU DO WHAT THEY DO IN COUNTRIES LIKE CHINA NORTH KOREA, YOU INCARCERATE THEM UNDER HARD LABOR. WE ARE THE ONLY COUNTRY IN THE WORLD THAT PUTS UP WITH THIS. These people are traveling to small tiny little towns and hiding. They are told of President Trump is reelected that they’ll be sent back so they’ll hide as best they can. It is not in any mandate of any "law enforcement" agency that says they have to protect us. I know you said government but I just wanted you to know that. You are however correct about it being the governments job, more specifically the executive branch to protect our borders. But at the end of the day the sole responsibility for your safety is you! That's what the 2nd amendment was created for, I suggest if you haven't already to arm up and train. You are under no obligation to be a victim so take the necessary steps to prevent being one.
