She does a cover like no one else on the planet. She re-writes and/or re-arranges every song she sings to give it that "Angelina Touch". She knows the exact formula of how much she needs to "Angelina-ize" her voice, tone, inflection, emotion, persona and volume with different proportions to perfectly fit every song she sings! She has mastered the art of making her version of a song unique, yet showing complete respect for the Original.

Thanks for your reaction. She won Norwegian talents at the age of 8, and is predicted to become the next superstar! She is also known for being able to adjust the voice to which genre she sings. She has approx. 130 covers on KZfaq + 3 originals. Angelina Jordan - Date of birth: January 10, 2006 (age 14 years), Born and raised in Oslo, Norway; this world-renowned singer has earned fantastic reviews for the amazing breadth, depth and maturity of her vocal talent that simply belies her young age. Something you might have noticed is that Angelina always performs barefoot!!! When Angelina was 6 years old, she met a homeless girl around her age when she was traveling in the Middle East. The girl did not have any shoes, and Angelina says her feet were scarred. Angelina gave the girl her own shoes. Angelina then “vowed never to appear on stage again wearing shoes until all the world’s children had them.” She keeps that promise to this day, as she says that little girl “is always in my heart.” - Angelina said she asked the little girl what her dream was, and the girl responded that she wanted to be a doctor. Angelina told her to “never give up.” In return, the girl told Angelina she would pray for her, and asked her to “remember me.” She might as well sing in a bad cellphone microphone, without a microphone, or to collaborate with professional musicians. She does not need any autotune or digital aids to sing. It is real song in an otherwise polished world. She just sings because it's her passion. Angelina’s videos have received over "over 600 Million views on youtube & over 2 Billion views on Facebook." Amazingly, her passion for music began at just one-and- a-half years of age when Angelina first saw Whitney Houston on KZfaq performing I Will Always Love You. Whitney - and later Billie Holiday, Dinah Washington - became her first major musical influences. At the age of seven, Angelina auditioned for Norway’s Got Talent performing Billie Holiday’s Gloomy Sunday. She won the competition with the show drawing record TV audiences. Not surprisingly, throughout her rising career, Angelina has featured in prominent media outlets including TIME, CNN, BBC, and People while also performing on the U.S. network TV shows Little Big Shots and The View. In 2016, Avicii chose Angelina for the vocals on his worldwide Volvo commercial campaign, a brilliant cover of Nina Simone’s Feeling Good. As well as singing before Nobel Peace Prize Laureates, charitable causes to which Angelina has given her talent include the Rainforest Alliance at the American Museum of Natural History in New York and Ein Herz für Kinder in Berlin where she helped raise over 21 Million Euros for children and families in need. Everyone in the music industry knows who she is, but the family and herself want her to grow up as normal as possible. Among other things, they said no to Disney! This multi-talented singing prodigy has also written a successful, illustrated children’s book in her native Norway making Angelina the youngest published author in the country’s history. Today she is 14 years old and has over 126 covers and 3 originals on KZfaq. She has already managed to collaborate with the biggest in the music industry, and is considered to be a future megarstar. The family and herself want to take it easy in the musical development because of her young age. NOTE! Angelina is independent and owns the rights herself. Angelina Jordan INC. She and her family take it easy because of her young age. Angelina wants total ownership over her creativity, without compromise. She / family said no to Disney, among other things. She attends some major foundrising concerts. Rumor has it that she is coming up with her own album this year. Why didn't Angelina Jordan win AGT champions? It's because she refused to sign with "Fremantle" when it came to ownership of the version of the performance of the songs. They told her she wasn't gonna win if she didn't. Well. She didn't win. and how to determine the best talent of a singer, magician or dance group, but I think they were aware of this, but still wanted her to attend to bring as many viewers as possible. Then there was no way she could win. The entire acclaimed music industry knows who she is, and she was invited to sing for Quincy Jones during his 85th birthday at O2 Arena London kzfaq.info/get/bejne/hbObqtKiurSym3k.html . She has also collaborated with David Foster, Gene Simmons, Alan Walker. In addition to singing at the Nobel Prize concert 8 year old. This is just something from her résumé at 14 years old and the list is much longer. Note! She is also Norway's youngest author with published book 9 years old! 10 Years old her !!! She can actually sing all genres, try this: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ialjeZOTsLHPY4k.html - TRXD - Above The Water (Lyrics) ft. Angelina Jordan It's electronic dance music, and she was wanted as a guest vocal on their record. The only thing I have not heard her sing is opera and rap. (Google translate)

I have watched all the AGT, American Idol, The Voice.... all the way back to Star Search.... and for me, this is THE best performance I have ever seen on any of those shows. Angelina stepped up to that mic and delivered a masterpiece. I really like some of the things you said about her.. "she is like a mother", "it's like she is cuddling you with her voice" ...very accurate. There is something so warm and so natural about her voice that it just envelopes you when you listen. She pulls you in and makes you hang on every word. As you mentioned, she won NGT at 8 and she is 13 here... in the 5 years between she did a lot of stuff.... You can find some of her best stuff (in chronological order) on this little playlist of some of my favorites...... kzfaq.info/sun/PL2v8kgVeo4EbYDVnRwObjETfWpXbzbgIO You can use this as a reference for where you are in her progression, or to find more stuff to react to. Also if someone leaves a request with no link, you will likely find it on the list. I look forward to your next Angelina video!

Rusty, I think she entered Norway GT in about November. Cold times. She was 7 years of age. 2013. The show ended early in 2014. If I am assuming correctly. Please put it out there. That may help many of the Reactors. I go be the growth of her Teeth. They were ok when she was 6 doing ( I who have nothing ) etc. There you saw her power. Just imagine a child reading the words to a song and singing into a Mike at the same time. Plus it’s not written in he mr native language.

Please make a reaction to a young, very popular singer in world. Videos from this singer collect hundreds of millions of views. Diana Ankudinova is now only 17 years old. She has a very unique, very deep, clear voice. Dr. Marc Reynolds (Voice Teacher, Stage Director, Performance Coach and Consultant, and Acting Coach) said about the performance of this girl: Really really exceptional! Even if you ignore her age, even is she was 10, 20, 30 years older, this is still a really exceptional performer here that we're seeing. But at her age, unbelievable. Really really exceptional! Absolutely gorgeous! And again, not just because of her voice, because her performing, watching how nuanced and engaging her performance is. Ah, it's just so stunning. It's absolutely amazing.

Tiny Little Girl Our tiny little girl with the grownup voice will be 17 on Jan. 10, 23 and is now 6'1" tall and could be a super model, but I hope the major portion of her career will be dedicated to her music and taking the world to a better place. I don't think she even realizes this power she holds over us and the need to hear that signature voice to fill that empty void within all of us. Angelina Jordan is in fact the "Benchmark" for all other vocalist to try as they might to achieve.

R Promo: What a well-researched and beautifully written description of Angelina and her accomplishments. I've been listening to (and crying over) her music for a long time. I guess I'm at the age of heightened emotion (third year of ninth decade), for I feel the need to hear her every day. It's not obsession, just appreciation. You've probably seen the clip when she was being interviewed for a performance on Norway's Got Talent, and she tells of a woman who said her singing brought her to tears. She said, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to." Can you imagine? Then Angelina said the woman gave her a hug. Wouldn't we all like to give this precious, humble little girl a hug, just to let her know how special she is? And, thanks to her family, she remains so, at age fourteen. Kudos to them. Thanks so much, R Promo, for your contribution to telling Angelina's story.

When she was 6 years old on holiday she and her family met a poor girl about the same age as Angelina working as a street vendor, she had scars on her feet so Angelina gave the girl her own shoes and promised to never perform with shoes again until all children in the world can afford to have shoes. She performed outdoors in Norway in December for the Nobel prize winners without shoes in 2014

The technique she uses on her "ah" vowels and diphthongs ("mama", "time", etc.) is usually called "back of the throat" singing. There's also a more technical term for it, but I can never remember what it is ("cnurdle"? "knurdel"? something like that). A more informal term for it is "Kermit the Frog voice". Anyway, it's a kind of specialty of hers, which she sometimes leans on very heavily, and sometimes not as much. She can also avoid it completely, of course, when the song doesn't call for it. The first time it was _really_ noticeable in her vocals (IMO) was in the finale of _Norway's Got Talent_ [Norske Talenter], where she sang Gershwin's "Summertime". But before you go searching for that video, I would _highly_ recommend that you react to all of her NGT performances in order. They can be found as videos 2-5 in Rusty Shackleford's chronological AJ-favorites playlist: kzfaq.info/sun/PL2v8kgVeo4EbYDVnRwObjETfWpXbzbgIO If you want to include all the pre- and post-song stuff (including judges' comments, which are only present in her "Gloomy Sunday" audition in Rusty playlist), here are the best "alternate versions" with English subtitles/captions: * "Gloomy Sunday" [Billie Holiday] audition at age 7: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mpmXhsugnt_KaGw.html (includes pre-song backstage footage and post-song judges' comments, with English subtitles in the video itself; the version in Rusty's playlist picks up the action on stage and has lower-quality English captions ["CC"]) * "I'm a Fool to Want You" [Billie Holiday] sung a cappella in the 2nd round, probably at age 8: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gr6boa-LqdW2hoU.html (no judges' comments in this round, by design, and the only pre-song stuff is just her saying what she's going to sing, so subtitles/captions are not necessary; this is the same video as in Rusty's playlist) * "Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)" [Nancy Sinatra] live in the semifinals definitely at age 8: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pslyoqVlnq3cnmw.html (includes post-song judges' comments, with English captions available; unfortunately, the video is in the wrong aspect ratio [16:9 video squashed into 4:3], so Rusty's version kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fqmRd9ya1tmbh5s.html is better for watching the performance itself - you can switch to the captioned video for the post-song stuff) * "Summertime" [Ella Fitzgerald & Louis Armstrong] live in the finals: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mNSgedZ0s7Hedps.html (includes pre-song mini-interview and post-song judges' comments, with English captions available) There is also a version of "Summertime" that includes the announcement of the results at the end (where - "spoiler alert" - it is revealed that she won with 46% of the vote, in a field of 10 finalists): kzfaq.info/get/bejne/sLRknqSgy5fNo2Q.html And just for "completeness", there is also this interview with her mother that happened just moments later, as the celebrations were still going on: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/hbZhjbiWqNjGfX0.html Notice how uncomfortable she seems. (BTW, Angelina's father can be seen in the background of the last video, from 1 min 32 sec to 1 min 48 sec. It's one of the very few times he has been seen on camera.)

There is one thing about this incredible performance that some reactors overlook and that is the fact that other than the crowd clapping at times you could hear a pin drop. Rarely do you ever see an AGT performer draw in and captivate the audience so completely that they are silent. Angelina is the most supremely gifted young musical talent I have ever seen and heard. When you look at what kind of person she is and what she has already accomplished in her short life there is no doubt that she is a bona fide musical genius.

Frederica - Hello/Ciao. Thanks for watching & re-watching her performance - and especially for sharing the different ways it made you "feel". This is the mystery of Angelina. Many performers manage to connect with the audience emotionally - but, only on occasion - and depending on the song. But NOT all the time. Angelina has the ability to connect emotionally with most people, most of the time - and for some, ALL of the time. It is like she is channeling the emotions, along with the beauty of the words and musical composition. Several words you used in your descriptions stand out: "sad", "intimate" - and "mothering". I would add to those - "calming" and "healing". Many, many reactors describe the calming effect her voice has on them. So - much more is in play in her recordings than - just singing a song. We should all think about this effect more - and ponder its meaning - for ourselves, and other listeners. To me, her singing is a Great Antidote to the endless, toxic "information" streaming out of the media, the news, and other outlets - which have the opposite effect of "calming". Angelina chose for her 1st public audition [on Norway's Got Talent - at age 7!!] - a very, very sad song - called "Gloomy Sunday". This song was written in 1933 by the Hungarian pianist and composer Rezső Seress - and took on the nickname of "the Hungarian Suicide Song" - because it was about lost love & a contemplated suicide. This song became well-known 8 years later (in 1941), when the American jazz singer, Billie Holiday, made a popular recording - and Angelina's performance, at age 7(!!!), is remarkably like Billie Holiday's. It's rather amazing that a very young person would choose such a song. Here is the link to her audition, with English subtitles (for the Judges' remarks). Her performance starts at 1:11. The link: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mpmXhsugnt_KaGw.html Enjoy, 🙂 Jim/USA

@@brit5458 Yes, I agree - about pushing away all the "unhelpful" stuff & information, constantly coming our way. It's interesting how recognition and appreciation of Angelina is spreading slowly, almost organically - and not in some Big, Public Relations way, as financed by an Entertainment corporation. Perhaps it will continue this way for a while [a few years(?)] - until it is right time for her authentic message to be understood by the greatest number, without corruption. Cheers, Jim

Angelina sees the beauty in the art of song. She relates what she sees so clearly. She brings to us the beauty in the art. She truly loves music. It is an art, and even what may have been written as dark, she shows that it is not. It is beautiful. And there is a way to see that, hear that, and she shows us that. Songs are wonderful expressions of art. She captures that truth for us. About the song Bohemian Rhapsody on AGT: In her exact words this is what she said: "The song means allot to me and ..it's about that, it's like, the hope the fear in your life and the hope about the fears that you are going to lose somebody in your life and but still you have hope ..and so I love that song." See how she sees beauty in a song so many think is dark. She sees the beauty in it. She always finds the beauty of the song and relates that for us. Songs are art to be seen as beautiful, each in there own way. She relates that for us, so we can see what she sees; her interpretation of the song. Interesting anecdote: At twelve in an interview when asked the first question "when I see you on stage I wonder who do you feel that you become?" [fishing for a particular artist, I'm sure] Her answer was: "When I sing I go to another world. It’s ...in the world it’s like an endless. It's amazing. It's like full of happiness. And I love ...It's amazing." [her exact words] She brings that world to us, just for a time when she sings. Whatever you believe that place she goes to may be. Enjoy the Angelina journey! We really are meant to. Hope to see more of her from you soon. Thanks for the reaction. Welcome to Angelina's angels from one who, as well, is hopelessly addicted. A couple suggestions for you: Wicked game is another to show her talent [She is wicked good with this one LOL]: Angelina Jordan playing piano (Wicked Game) 2018 kzfaq.info/get/bejne/otRzlcaSnsC5cmw.html And another emotional one: "I'm Still Holding Out for You" kzfaq.info/get/bejne/etxooM10zZvNmXk.html -This is a demo that Angelina recorded when she was around 10/11, that was "leaked" when she was 12. Angelina was not pleased that it was leaked, because the lyrics at the end implied suicide. She said she would never perform this song again. Mature decision on her part. But this performance is really good! [the author - Baby Fuzz - didn't want to or wouldn't allow his lyrics changed so an outstanding performance by Angelina will not be repeated and only the "leaked" version will ever be heard] To appreciate her different abilities : "A Million Years Ago"(12): kzfaq.info/get/bejne/h658p72CmNmtp3k.html and Stay [at 12]: Angelina Jordan - Stay: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/la2DibOnqN-XiZs.html and finally to see her ability to belt if she wants to [you've seen this one]: Angelina Jordan - I Have Nothing (Whitney Houston Tribute) - Age 13 kzfaq.info/get/bejne/m7qTqdmAm6iXeaM.html [she was partly testing her strength I think] Here's the link to her second on AGT. Think of it as her "swan song" [though she did one other beautifully] [of course] she knew at this time she wasn't going to continue with this show. This was her way to relate that to Simon and her audience so beautifully. [she has done this before. When she was leaving Norway for an extended trip to the USA she went on the rooftop of a TV studio there the night before she was leaving and performed a wonderful song that related to how she will miss someone -I forget the title right now, but she did it with such feeling, similar to how she does this Yellow Brick road] Keeping all that in mind; This is fascinating: her performance in the finals of AGT-C where she covers Sara Bareilles' version of Elton John's iconic song Goodbye Yellow Brick Road. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ftCjgJah2rG0oqc.html

Federica: You commented that Angelina's re-imagining of this Queen classic sounds sad ... you will discover, if you work your way through her catalogue, that she has a spooky ability to take a well-known song and dig deep into the lyrics to pull out a fresh interpretation which reveals the sometimes hidden essence. Freddie Mercury never revealed what was behind his song's imagery, but band member Brian May did offer a clue: '[May] supports suggestions that the song contained veiled references to Mercury's personal traumas. He recalls "Freddie was a very complex person: flippant and funny on the surface, but he concealed insecurities and problems in squaring up his life with his childhood. He never explained the lyrics, but I think he put a lot of himself into that song.' [Wikipedia] AJ fans will point to many examples where her version of a song they thought they knew backwards is revealed in a completely new light when laid bare by her insight. R (Australia)

Hi again sweetie. Love your natural nails & pretty black hair. I really love your raw & wonderful reaction & small review. (you haven't even begun to scratch the surface of Angie's abilities) So please read what I put below & it will catch you up to date) You need to wear earbuds or headphones, otherwise you miss a lot of her vocal ornamental's & her nuances. History was made, If anyone's brave enough to do this song, in her rendition of the song, they'll be compared to her, for it's her song now. Think of it , she took a iconic classic rock opera & stripped it down & turned it into a jazzy/bluesy soulful ballad at age 13. Please support her music, CD's, iTunes etc .. Put her on your play list...So many (even Disney) producers have been trying to get her to sign with them. Her & her mom . just tell them no, (she wants to finish school 1st). They would just ruin her & spit her out once they made their money off of her. Her family is very protective of her, they even formed a production co. for her (Angelina Jordan inc.) She's a talent that comes by once in a lifetime maybe once every hundred years. Angie is music. She can do any genre & sound better than most originals & she's still very young too. She’s 14 as of 1-10-20. She made her outfit using the pattern of an artwork, from her grandmother. She makes several of her other outfits too. A God given voice & talent. What amazing timbre, texture, vibrato & amazing rare skill of tremolo & the pitch perfect skill also no sound comes out of her mouth unless she wants it too, control beyond a lot of pro adult singers, etc She's very sweet, respectful, humble, giving, & a loving Christian in real life too. She selects, arranges & composes her songs while still being respectful to the original. She has written 3-4 songs plays 4+ instruments & is trying to learn a little Saxophone right now. Speaks 3-4 languages & sings in 4+ languages etc.. .English isn’t her 1st language, it’s her 3rd. She also gives a lot to charities & helps out children who really need it. People will explain why she’s barefoot when she sings on stage down below in the comments. I hope you react to these songs by Angelina Jordan I would recommend the B&W version of "I put a spell on you" she arranged when she was 9, link below. Yes she's the queen of emotions. If you are receptive for it it will never cease to touch you. Deeply. She's not performing for the crowd? I think you are too used with people dancing around the stage. There's a clear difference to see when you give her a large crowd. But of course you won't see her doing an expressive dance performance or something. At least at that age. It feels like she's been around for ages, but she still a shy kid. But we'll see ;-)

@333 I dont think she has ever been shy about singing. But she isn't moving as expressive on stage like some others e.g. Charlotte Summers. There is a visible progression over the years towards beeing more expressive with body movements like gesturing with her hands for emphasis though.

Regarding her crying at the beginning, I can almost guarantee you that they got her to cry by asking her about her grandfather, who passed away about 1½ years before this performance, and whom she said this song (her version of it, anyway) reminds her of. (She said this in a pre-show interview: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/npx5jZCQ0bC2Yqc.html - BTW, she won NGT when she was 8, not 7.)

Yes, that is her family. The First Lady to stand is her granny and blond lady is her Mum, plus her sister and uncle. You probably started in the wrong place, with Back to Black, she was rewriting the words in the car on the way to do the song because her Mum didn’t like the words. I feel there i# something missing* that song that is in must of her others. If you listen to her covers, like; All of Me, Stay, Born to Die, A Million Years Ago, California Dreaming, you get more of the full experience.

Thank you for the care you took. Of course add to it that Norwegian is her first language, but she also speaks farsi, some Japanese, and fluent English. Aren't you connected to the that upper class Brit who also reacted to this? She cried. It sounds like you think of Piaf when you hear her. Many people cry; like you co-host (hope I got that right). They don't cry because they are happy or because they are sad; it is something about her voice. All of her covers are amazing reinventions of each song. I think she is singing for the song; she goes inside and inhabits the song. She's not an entertainer. She's an artist, a vocal genius continuously exploring her own powers. The choices she makes, the modulations, the melisma. Do more. Do more. Maybe her covers of Lana del Rey, Adele, Rhianna, or Sam Smith.

@@brit5458 Sorry, I was reaching for her name and all I could remember was her accent. Her reaction is one of my favorites (and I've watched them all). I assume you will watch it. Angelina speaks Japanese because her whole family does. Her mother's mother is Iranian, so she speaks some Farsi. Her father is Swedish so she speaks some Swedish (most Norwegians do) and of course Norwegian. Her father did a lot business in the US so she spent a lot of time there and now lives in LA, so she's fluent in English. Now back to the Japanese. Her mother's mother was married to a Japanese man and they lived in Japan. So her mother, her mother's brother, and her grandmother all speak Japanese. And that's not the half of her.

Hi! I've watched both of you reacting to Angelina Jordan's performance of Bohemean Rapsody - both great! And I have looked through the list of your reactions but missed several AJ videos that I would really rnjoy seeing y'all react to. - so, I'm going to suggest both I Put A Spell On You ... and her original song, Million Miles. If you are not particularly familiar with "I Put A Spell On You, I suggest that, before watching AJ's version, you might want to watch the composer, Screamin' Jay Hawkins - written @ 1956 ... I think the version here will give a certain appreciation of AJ's performance - warning - he's a bit more theatrical than AJ LOL ... kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pdh-o6tnzt_Tm30.html - AJ's video is here kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pN12n9J0tb7ec6c.html - she was 9 years old when she made this video. Second, I would really enjoy your reaction(s) to her latest music video of Million Miles - her own ... this video is what EVERY "music video" SHOULD be - not flash - not distraction from the piece - rather, a subtle visual allegory which brings one even further into the piece! kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jqdhkqaGxrOZYn0.html ) I'll try emailing and commenting on YT as well as FB hoping that you see one of the comments - feel free to delete the comment but please DO react to these two AJ videos. Well done you two - I really did enjoy your reactions and I really do think you'll enjoy the 2 suggested vids! Thanks!
