I have heard so many people cover her songs, but I have never heard anyone that could capture the essence of Amy's voice... until this 10 year old came along and did it so beautifully. Angelina is able to do this with so many artists... Whether it's Billie Holiday, Lana Del Rey, Adele, or so many other artists.... she gets all of the little nuances that make you feel the influences of these artists while still always sounding exactly like Angelina. It was her that asked her mother to take her to Norways Got Talent, where she auditioned at 7 years old and went on to win the whole show at just 8 years old. - In an interview after the show, when asked what she was going to do with the prize money, the 8 year old replied, "I would like to give it to orphans that need clothes and shoes" - When Angelina was 9 years old she became the youngest published author in Norway, when she wrote a book about the story of why she doesn't wear shoes when she sings. She donated proceeds from the sales of the book to help children in need. - The reason you may not have heard of her is because her parents are very protective of her childhood. They do not want her to be thrust into stardom before she has a chance to grow up as a normal child, and finish her education. They allow her to do a few select shows (mainly private and charity events) with a couple public shows every year when she is out of school. Her mother said in an interview that they have turned down 90% of the offers that come in. I have heard they have turned down offers from many major record labels and even disney. - Angelina has covered more than 120 songs and over 65 artists in the last 6 years. She always selects the songs herself... everything ranging from old classic jazz to modern pop. She is able to change her voice to match any song she sings and make it her own. (she can cover Amy Winehouse and Lana del Rey like nobody else) - Angelina has collaborated with some very big names over the last few years... There is no acting, no showing off, there are no unnecessary runs, or big belty notes just for the purpose of saying "hey look at me sing". She once said "when I sing I go into a magical world in my head", and you can always hear the results of that. When Angelina sings it is pure soul, pure emotion, pure music.

Don't make the mistake of thinking that the voice she sang with for this song even comes close to showcasing her full range. She sings what is appropriate for the given song, and you will find that she can sing ANY song with incredible skill.

When she told her mother she wanted to sing this song, she was told she could do so on the condition that she changed the lyrics, as they were not appropriate to her age. Most children of 10 would have given up on the conditions, but being a determined young lady, Angelina dis as requested. She finished them on the way to the recording studio.

Angelina does a beautiful job with this monotone song, but it is not a showcase for her abilities. I love that you commented on the rasp in her voice, but wait til you hear her in an acoustic setting. There are so many amazing songs, but your next should be something that is completely different and is guaranteed to knock you off your feet. Fortunately, there are maybe twenty of those, but for an unforgettable acoustic side of Angelina, try “Stay”. Her voice is stunningly beautiful and emotive. And as others have said, Bohemian Rhapsody is Angelina hitting on all cylinders: her arranging, her beautiful soulful voice, her bluesy runs and riffs, and her absolute command of the stage. Her voice is mesmerizing. It’s so hard to recommend to a new Angelina reactor because she covers so many styles beautifully-many times better than the original artists. You will see that she is the best interpreter of lyrics you’ve heard. I realize this sounds like a very biased, uncritical opinion of Angelina, but all I can say is that you just need to listen to a couple more songs and you’ll be completely hooked. I envy that you’re just starting out.

The original song doesn't have many ups and down either if you check it out. The only thing anyone needs from Angelina is her voice. the orchestra was beautiful but what draws you in is her. No thrills or gimmicks or belting. She sang "Fly Me to The Moon" a lot, almost her signature song when she was younger. Nice reaction and nice finally “meeting” you. I think what you may have been referring to with the not-quite-rasp in her voice is her vocal fry. It tends to appear on the cusp (beginning) of a vowel sound but doesn’t sustain itself throughout the sound (as with a full rasp). But she is very capable of going full-on rasp if she needs to. She has command of her chest voice, her head voice, various different mixed voices, her throat (including a jazzy Kermit sound), she has just unbelievably mind-blowingly stunning control over her vibrato and can make it be whatever it needs to be for a given song, she can do beautiful melisma‘s (runs) without overdoing it like so many singers do, she has an incredible sense of timing, beautiful pitch and a tonal range that goes from down in the Amy Winehouse lower register territory up into the vicinity of the Whitney Houston’s high notes. She doesn’t engage in a lot of antics when she’s performing, but she does command the viewer’s absolute attention. Her command of the stage and the performance is leagues beyond her years and something many never achieve. She also writes her own songs and currently has three out with a whole album of material apparently just around the corner. If Antonia hasn’t already done it, the Skavlan performance of her original “Shield” might be a great choice for a next reaction. Her vocals are stunning, her stage presence is pure professionalism and the song itself is, well… just check it out. :)

Yes thats our queen of jazz - agility, phrasing, vibrato, that texture and depth of her voice and putting her own twist on all her covers. I think I would call it "texture" and, as you say, warmth. This song doesn't let her do much with her voice. Her cover of Lana del Rey's Born to Die is similar. They get their power by repetition. You say you didn't expect this voice. I don't think anyone expected this voice when they first heard it, even people who had heard her sing many times before. This is her Amy Winehouse voice, which she uses for her Amy Winehouse covers - of which this was the first released. (She used it again later for "Valerie", "Our Day Will Come", and "I'm No Good". She has also covered "Rehab", but in that one she pulls way back on the amount of "Amyness" in her voice. [grin]) She also has a Billie Holiday voice, an Ella Fitzgerald voice, a Dinah Washington voice, an Etta James voice, a Gloria Gaynor (!) voice, a Whitney Houston voice, an Adele voice, a Lana Del Rey voice, and a Miley Cyrus voice, among others. As has already been pointed out, she has an uncanny ability to emulate some of the most identifiable voices of the last 100 years, and yet somehow it never sounds like a mere imitation (although, truth be told, a few times she's gotten perilously close to that). Some people like to say she has "1000 voices" but, to be fair, we haven't heard that many performances from her, so we can't know that for sure. [wink] It wouldn't really surprise me, though, if that could be verified someday. [grin] (She doesn't always try to sound like other singers, BTW. There are many covers [and her original songs] where she doesn't seem to be emulating anyone in particular. But she still tends to vary her voice from song to song, even in those cases.) She's also excellent "artistically". She's not just a "vocal technician". And she happens to be a wonderful human being, as well. Amy Winehouse is like nails on a blackboard to my ears, and so it seems unfortunate to me hearing Angelina, whom I love, emulating her. From Billie to Ella to Dina to Whitney -- absolutely, and how brilliant of Angelina to be channeling such as these! But Amy?! Please, Angelina, no more. You are going to be a force to be reckoned with. Amy, never a force at all, is for forgetting. No hate mail, please. I'm as entitled to my opinion as you are. :)

This is probably my least favorite performance by Angelina. I think the sound quality of your pass-through video was poor. Most reactors use headphones during reactions and the quality of the sound almost always sounds better. Usually, her voice is much mellower and has often been referred to as liquid gold. Please listen to more of her performances. She's also been referred to as the girl with a thousand voices as she can change the tone of her voice to enhance the performance.

Only Angelina can cover Amy when it comes to all Ms. Winehart's songs she decides to do.
