Italian ww2 rifle restoration - carcano gun restoration , in this video i do a restoration of italian ww2 rifle a carcano gun restoration.
In this gun restoration im going to work on an old carcano rifle found in a cellar, this ww2 gun is completely ruined by rust, this carcano will shot again or not?

I don't understand why people are calling him fake, I know sometimes people purposefully rust new guns to make content, but this guy's guns all look second hand and the rust on them looks natural from age Keep up the good work, your videos are really relaxing and satisfying

Me too! Unfortunately the headspace is screwed up and the no go gauge chambered fine so it would be very unsafe to fire.

The inside of the barrel can be easily cleaned by electrolysis. Plug the muzzle, put a 3 mm wire inside the barrel, wrapped with insulating tape every 5 cm so that the wire does not touch the walls of the barrel, pour sodium bicarbonate electrolyte and connect to the rectifier. Plus to the wire and minus to weapons. Cleans very thoroughly. After such a treatment, I even shot with pits in the barrel and everything worked. To be sure, you can fire with a link.

Fire with a link is not a firing test. As you can se, the problem for the barrel is not pitting, but headspace and heat treatmen.

I joke you not, I have a Springfield 1903 in the same exact condition (except with no bolt)! I currently have it sitting in a bucket of kroil. I'm going to try and get it apart this weekend maybe. Mine came out of Lake Champlain, in upstate New York (like, actually out of the water!)

These are some excellent rifles to shoot, with the correct ammo. Carcano rifles are very underrated. I was hopeful, but this weapon was in very bad condition. When he shined a light down the barrel... I knew nobody would be shooting it.

Great restoration! Kind of reassuring that it didn't shoot - that seems really unlikely for a gun in that condition (unless you maybe swapped a few parts like the barrel?).
