Man, if there ever was a game that needs an HD remake, its this

So for those who don't know. Disney bought the company who made this game and in 2014 killed the company. So as of now, Disney owns this game completely and have most likely forgot about it. I really want this game again but the second hand prices are going up and up

This is the game that started me loving video games. The amount of love and character in it enthralled me. My entire gaming career started with the moment that Stubbs possessed a soldier and when you look at Stubbs he waves at you.

Look, if Destroy All Humans got a remake then this sure deserves one too. Honestly, let’s toss Metal Arms into the pot also.

So maybe you missed it but the back story for Stubbs is he was a traveling salesman who hooked up with a farmer's daughter. Unfortunately her daddy caught him, shot him and buried him out back. The blonde woman you're chasing is her all grown up

This was actually made in the Halo engine

Such a fun game. Shame it never took off, this could have used a sequel to polish up the jankier bits and expand the gameplay concept a little.

This game reminded me of destroy all humans but with a zombie...... you already know you’re in for hours of fun.

Knowing Disney owns the IP of Stubbs the Zombie, is the most hilarious thing ever.

Sod is an old English word for a piece of turf or earth, dirt, mud, soil, whatever you wanna call it, that has grass on it. It mostly is rolled out or cultivated to make a lawn or grassy area. You're shooting out clods of mud basically. The word is also used to tell someone to "sod off", as in a negative thing but it is on a level with calling someone an "idiot" I would say. Just an old word.

I was just playing this with my daughter's this weekend on Xbox 360. And my oldest said "Dad he's Asymptomatic. He got Corona." Lol she's so smart.

I remember playing this ages ago and it really stood out as a fun unique game that I wish would have gotten a remake/remaster There was just something fun about running around as a zombie for once instead of killing them but I don't remember if I had managed to beat the game at all

If this game ever got itself a remake, here are some of my suggestions: = More areas to wreak mass havoc upon like I don't know...a 1950's cliche High School, a peaceful normal suburban resort, the Beaches, Swamp area, Movie Theater, a Mafia-controlled town, and more. = More Zombie allies varieties like the more you progress, the enemies that you have just infected into like having a big but slow brute zombie, Fast runner but the weak type of zombie, armored but can't eat brains type of zombie, and how about Zombie allies that are smart enough to wield their own weapons? = More villains to take down and more brains to devour into like...how about a *powerful and intimidating Crime Lord* that seems to be involved in Stubb's life before he became a zombie? How about a massive *fanatical cult* that seems to be hellbent on harvesting Stubb's undead corpse? A troublesome *Greaser Alpha douchebag* that wants your head after you turn every student into a zombie? A group of psychopathic militant Boy Scouts? What about an *Exterminating Armed Automaton* that would try to wipe you and your Zombie army out as a Boss Battle? = More enemy varieties like a Heavy Exo-armored Soldiers armed with plasma Rayguns as a walking tank, Enemy snipers that can headshot your Zombie army in just a few shots, Flamethrower wielding opponents, aggressive militant Mafia Gangsters, and how about mutated experimented animals to fight against you and your undead army? = Kinda reminds me of the progress map from the game Prototype where the more damage you cause upon that certain area, the more your Zombie army grows, and the more chaotic that said area is going to be. Also a bit of free-roaming like entering through the Monorail Stations in order to get between areas, just for added sugar. = Stubb's getting certain upgrades to take down even tougher enemies the more you progress, like for example, getting a serum that can enhance your close quarter fighting skills for easy brain meals, or smart enough to learn how to use a Jetpack. = Unlockable Skins in the game like Tarman from Return of the Living Dead movie, Thriller Michael Jackson, Bub from Day of the Dead, House of the Dead Zombie, Resident Evil Zombie, and probably more.

Now we need Stubb's the Zombie and Voodoo Vince remakes. Such underrated games.

This game is fantastic. I also just love that one of the original Halo dudes had access to the Halo engine and the first thing he thought was “Comedy Zombie Period Piece with... farts”.

I would be down for an LP of this. Really cool game. I remember seeking it out years ago when I started collecting for xbox because I remember an article from OXM touting how this uses the Halo engine, but then I never saw a copy to buy or rent, and never saw an article or review of the final game. Surprised it is on the PC, I would have assumed it was only on xbox given the insane xbox prices now.

I got this game as an early Christmas present in 2005. I still have it too. One of the funniest games I've ever played. It was fun to play couch co-op with my friend too - we wrecked some of the harder stages together. =)

This game was fun as fuck, the Master Chief dance was hilarious

I never did get this working on PC. Used to be on steam, but it had no idea how to run on a multicore system.

I played this at a friends when it was new too. He bought Stubbs and I bought Tony Hawk's American Wasteland. I even skated as a Stubbs created character in THAW. I don't own a physical copy but when they released a few Xbox games on 360 a long time ago, Stubbs was one of them and I still have it downloaded. Afraid if delete the game it might be gone forever.

Disney bought the studio and axed them. That’s why it disappeared around 2014 or so. I doubt Disney would do anything with this game or value it much so maybe THQ or some other company could buy it and produce a remake or reboot

the retrofuturism in the environment and story in this game still brings me so much joy. It just needs better licensing for ports, but I don't really think the time should be spent on "HD remaking", especially without a solid gauge on how large the actual market for it would be

Stubbs rocks 🤘🤘🤘 This is actually one of the few games in which you ARE the zombie, and I guess it was the first one. Love this concept cause in most zombie games it's the other way 'round *boooring* 😜

I absolutely loved this game when it came out. I even bought the amazing soundtrack. This is nostalgia all the way. 😁 Thought I was the only one who even remembered this came out. I feel vindicated

I remember the two player mode being a blast. The amount of zombies increase quick in two player.

The zombies do in fact perform the thriller dance for about 2 seconds. If you stand still and stare at a zombie or group of zombies while they're standing still one of them will do a segment of the dance.

My dad and I used to play this co-op all the time, the vibe was absolutely divine

The coolest mechanic here is definitely making your own zombie horde. Make that your core-mechanic, remove the other fluff and you have a new sub-genre.

I've been yearning for a Stubbs remaster/remake for YEARS! Admittedly mainly because I want the soundtrack on vinyl.

Stubbs is genuinely the console game I've played more than any other on Earth. I put hundreds of hours into it as a kid because it was just so ridiculous and silly. I want an official re-release of this game more than any other in existence.
