Being mindful of bahamut's megaflare is definitely important especially since if rng is not your friend, bahamut will use megaflare back to back.

Yeah. I never had a problem with Bahamut before, and he used mega flare three times in a row-and I did not get a single turn in-between! Killed all three of my party members by the third one. So yeah…

@@QuidamByMoonlight In MOST Cases He Will Actually Use Some Of His OTHER Attacks(Such As His "Physical" Attacks And "Tornado" Spells For A FEW Turns BEFORE Using "Mega Flare". It's KIND OF A "Warning" SIGN That He's TIMING You To "Kill" Him BEFORE He Can USE "Mega Flare" Like In FFs 4 And 5.

Managed to snag Bahamut after two tries when I did this a few weeks back. First time I basically pillaged him for his high level magic, but fell foul to two consecutive mega flares. Second time I used Recover and Revive while still stockpiling 100 of all his magic types. His abilities are excellent. Also I was able to card the ruby dragons. Only level 22 when I beat Ultimecia at the end :D

You couldn't go forward deeper anyway until you return to the Ragnarok. I tried when I first came here after defeating Bahamut. For some strange reason, you have to go back to your ship and then when you return, that gaping hole extends and allows you to go down.

You have to NOT ONLY RETURN TO the "Ragnarok", but you must ALSO ENTER the "Cockpit" area(Using the "menu" button) to UNLOCK the DEEPER AREA of DSRC.

I don't know if it was just the PS1 version but I remember one time I was fighting Bahamut, his _first_ move was Megaflare which wiped me. Beat him the next time but I was so scared fighting him after that.

Lucky you! Bahamut used mega flare three times in a row with no turn in between and killed my whole party. First time I ever got game over with Bahamut. It seemed pretty cheap.

@@LN-Lifer im not English or American but if you show them for the first time the word "Galbadian" they will pronounce it as such. they don't say Ru-see-yan they pronounce Ru-shan

FuzzFingerGaming, wow, cool name, nobody never mentions Battle Assistance ( L3 click ), and 3x Speed ( R3 click ). These also save you when you're preparing your attack. Your strategy is cool, but don't forget to put those icons to use.

Quick question to anyone out there. Is there a bug that causes the game to crash when doom activates? My game crashed 2 times in a row when doom activated on behemoths in the deep sea research center. I'm just curious if it's just me.

I find breath deals small amounts of damage, if you have high Vit stat.

Yeah "Breath" Is A Non-Elemental Physical-Based Attacked That Deals HIGH PHYSICAL DAMAGE To The Entire Team, And He Only Uses It And Meteor If You Have Your Entire Team Standing. It Can Do 9999 To Anyone With 99 Vitality So It's Best To Have Like 150+ VIT At LEAST, Or If You Can't Get High VIT, Casting "Protect" On The Team Cuts The Damage In HALF.

Yep on my second run now this time no escapes, no deaths no kills with Seifer or Edea. Levelling one character up at a time at the end of the game via using break on the other two party members so i dont have to kill them off.

I played for like 15 hours this weekend and finally caught up! Just snagged this GF. I think it’s time to level them all to 100, though that will make Omega a lot tougher... but if I don’t I can’t farm Energy Crystals as I’m still like level 17 or so.

@Vegesther omega is level 100 even if you aren't? Pfft he was the sole reason I was sticking to this low level play through. Time to level up!

@Vegesther Well then, time to hit up heaven or hell island! Not trying to deal with Omega at level 17. It took me soooooooo many tries to beat him 20 years ago, but that was largely in part to me not understanding the junctioning system.

@Vegesther Not true!! I beat Ultima Weapon at low level playing the Remaster version. And according to the original guide (which I have), Ultima Weapon's HP is between 51,100 - 160,000. He will give no exp points, only AP of 100. You can mug him for 3 stars and he only drops Ultima Stones. And don't forget to Draw Eden from him. BTW Omega Weapon is in the Castle. His HP is between 111,105 - 1,161,000. So depending on your level.....

@Vegesther Omega Weapon is in the Castle. Ultima Weapon is in the Deep Sea. Enemies level up same time as your characters. So I am assuming the reason Omega Weapon (in the castle) is always level 100 for you is because at least one party member is also level 100.

@Vegesther Dude!! I played this game 20 years ago when it first came out (PC & PS1) and have the original strategy guide. I have no idea where you are getting your information but it is not right. Omega Weapon (along with every monster in the game) levels up along with your characters. His HP ranges from 111,105 - 1,161,000 which depends on Omega's level. (i.e. Level 1-19, 20-29, 30-100)

After DEFEATING the "2 Ruby Dragons"(And CHOOSING the "correct" choices(1. It's not our will to fight, and 2. NEVER)), you would THINK on the "third" that THERE'S ONLY "2" choices but yes there's "3"! You can SEE that IF you LOOK "VERY carefully" BELOW the "first 2" choices for a LITTLE apostrophe(Or DOT)! THAT'S how you KNOW about the "third" choice!

@@FadedKai if you use the modifiers they do not disable achievements for Steam. If you use cheats, like all items or all Triple Triad Cards, achievements will be disabled.

No, you can buy an Amnesia Greens from a pet store and use that to delete the AbiltyX3 slot from the GF since its just taking space.

I just challenge this and walked away with a new GF with all characters on full health. Odin got rid of the first Ruby Dragon, then 2nd Ruby Dragon attacked Selfie with Firaga first but I got Drain junction for her and she basically got back her health by attacking. Getting Bahamut blinded is a good tip, at the same time he didn't even try using Megaflare, so probably I got super lucky with this one. 🥰 Oh, and you can get full-life by modding Regen Ring. 1 Regan Ring -> 20 Full Lifes. And there are plenty of Torama and Turtapod in Esthar after Lunar Cry, which you can steal Regen Ring from.

You can get ingredients for permanent stat boosting items if you don't kill Ultima Weapon. Otherwise it's way harder to get them.

The fixed encounters for Tri-Face are great for mugging Curse Spikes. 100 Spikes equal 1 Dark Matter, with Siren's ability, which can be used to teach Quistis Shockwave Pulsar, or give someone 100 Ultima spells, or refine into an Abilityx4 item, or Luck Junction Scroll You can also use forced Behemoth encounters to get enough Barriers to refine Aegis Amulets for Evasion Junctioning

I honestly think that drawing from Ultima Weapon is the best way to get Ultima on all your party members if you have good junctions and can deal with its attacks. You need to put more effort into maintenance but if you have a good speed stat with Haste you can get a lot of Draws done before it even moves.

I usually just get Ultima from Shumi Village and the hidden draw points on the island closest to hell. That way I can Farm Tri faces for eternity or until the luck stat is maxed out on all party members

The 2nd Ruby Dragon Fight In Deep Sea Research Center Is A FIXED BACK ATTACK On Your Team. Even If You Put "Alert" On You Still Get Back Attacked By It! And With That Blue Light, The Game FORCES YOU To WALK, In Which Way You Can't Run In That Section Of The Area.

@@defblinders9585 Yeah But The PROBLEM With That Is IF You Do That You Get "EXP", Which You TOTALLY WANT TO AVOID If At ALL POSSIBLE. The TRICK To FF8 Is STAYING LOW LEVEL. If Gonna Level, You WANNA LEVEL On The "Island Closest To Heaven" Or "Island Closest To Hell", And You ONLY Want To Level "2" Characters At A Time Using The GFs "Ifrit", "Siren", "Brothers", "Carbuncle", And "Leviathan"(ALL On "One" Character As Those "GFs" Have The "Stat Bonus" Abilities) And "Cactuar" On The "Other" Character. Also, You Wanna AVOID Killing "Ultima Weapon" Because Doing THAT Will TOTALLY ELIMINATE The "Fixed ENCs(Encounters)" In DSRC, Which Are "Necessary" For "Farming"(Especially For "Tri-Faces" For "Curse Spikes"). Instead, It's BETTER To Draw "Eden" Off "Tiamat" And Leave "Ultimate Weapon" Alive.

Breath isn't a threat with sufficient vitality. I usually just facetank it.

Yes, but breath on back attack, even with high vitality, will KO your whole party.

@@zemm9003 incorrect. It's a physical attack that's reduced by defense, and the protect status.

@@rustyjones7908 no. It ignores defense and it says so in the Scan description. All attacks except Light Pilar are affected by either Protect or Shell but that is not what we were talking about as these magics have nothing to do with defense.

The fact that you can miss this dungeon and bahamut all together is blasphemy. Never should have been an optional dungeon or boss should have been a part of the main story. I went past the point of no return and missed out on this epic GF.

I hate the battle cheating toggle of the remaster version, so much. Mobs stand still all the time and you can cast limit breaks infinitely ? Come-the heck- on, if that's not cheating, I dont know what it is 👎🏻🤣
