At 11:10 that is actually a hall effect sensor which detects a neodymium magnet placed in the lid of the laptop to detect if the laptop is open or closed.

It usually runs hot because the heatsink sucks. Processor is on the opposite side of the fans and any attempt at gaming makes it reach high 80s/90°C quite quickly

Hi Binh, my model ph317-52 looks similar. the inner fan has no cover so I will try figure which fan is making the noise. I received it second hand lots of screws missing.... here we go!

what model of fans does this use? my fans got dirty due to sawdust from rodent bedding and was told by geek squad they “couldnt clean it” and id like to buy new ones😊

Dude I gave mine a basic clean a couple of days ago and now my wifi adapter isn't working! It won't even show up in the shortcut! troubleshooting it revealed that "This device cannot start. (Code 10) {Operation Failed} The requested operation was unsuccessful." is it possible I screwed something up? or is it just driver-related? Still a great video though btw.

Could you help me? I have this laptop, and I went through the process of disassembly, cleaning out dust from fans, and reapplying thermal paste as well as changing thermal pads for some better quality ones. After putting it all back together, the fans just don’t move at all. I set the fan speed to max in Predator Sense, yet still they remain at 0 rpm. At first I hoped it was simply the fan plugs, which I realized afterwards I had plugged in upside down (white dot is supposed to be face up). However even after rectifying this, the fans remain unresponsive. Is there anything more I can do? What possible solutions are there for this problem?

Damn dude it was painful to watch you scrape that thermal paste off. Just wipe it off with the paper towel then use some isopropyl alcohol to clean it up lmao
