Iwaihime, written by Ryukishi07, creates a tale where dreams and reality blur together in this supernatural horror visual novel.
In a tale about a curse that goes back hundreds of years, the events from many years ago come together by a fated meeting between a boy who has trained all his life, and a mysterious shrine girl holding a Japanese doll.
This is a story about curses-sin, retribution, and strength.

Totally agree with your comment about the artstyles in the when they cry series... And, well, anything can be considered an acquired taste after having been exposed to it long enough... it's just a matter of what is easier on the eyes to get used to...

Haha, even i don't like his art style. That's why i got the steam versions of umineko and higurashi. I have completed higurashi and umineko ch 6. Taking a break from his work. Nice review, will check this out too.

His artstyle is actually good but just makes them blurry but they are supposed to be blurry

After reading the steam version, I found it to be the best and most balanced of the 3 styles personally. But man do I sometimes wish it had the quality consistency of the console ver. Heck, there's a bunch of characters from the answer arc that have genuinely charming original sprites (like Erika) with arguably better costume details and more accurate facial expressions.

I am really shocked you do not have way more subs, There is just gonna be a point where you are gonna spike and be super big and I can't wait. As for the vn, I found it alright but somewhat flawed at many points for the sesame reason. I would recommend the DLC more then any other route and that to me, shows some issues.

I've read this. Idk quite generic horror. Nothing that makes R07 unique in his previous works. Only his bad style of writing. Art is very cool though

Unfortunately, I have to agree. I tried to read this after hearing about it and that it was written by Ryukishi. It looked interesting and I’m a big fan of Higurashi and Umineko. I was terribly disappointed! Super in-your-face, gross-out shock horror, annoying characters, and a plot that’s all over the place and goes nowhere with bizarre writing. I dropped it just a few hours in and looked up the rest on a wiki because I got so fed up with the story spinning it’s wheels. Glad I did, because the rest makes no sense
