I consider Higurashi to be more mainstream to the general public. Saya no Uta is popular, but to less extent

I dunno, both bored me to sleep, personally. KNS and GSS were absolute winners in my book though (but I'd go with Cartagra over KNS based on horror factor, as that utter mindfuck of an ending where you start to hallucinate out of starvation, combined with the most unsettling Innocent Grey music track ever, cannot be topped by ANYTHING for me, at least as it stands so far).

@@slugnpc4257 All of the characters in Totono are great. They have flaws and nuance to them. Can I ask what you liked about Miyuki? When I saw Aoi standing on the roof with her hand up in the air swaying to and fro, I was mesmerised. It was such an amazing introduction. The intrigue of the phone playing the same scene hooked me into the story immediately. I was shooting for an. Aoi ending from then on.

@@Christopherjazzcat I absolutely agree! The story has a lot of depth for a cast of only four. I'm very happy that you're still active and that You, Me, and Her still interests you. It's unfortunate that there isn't much of an online community/fandom for this game. I've actually started confiding in KZfaq comments that were made months or years ago. You are absolutely right that Aoi was incredibly mesmerising. She drew me in with her quirkiness because I'm also a giant weirdo and will always find weird things charming. I believe I "decided" I was on team Aoi when I saw how her eyes grew brighter the more time we spent with her and how, in her happy moments, light actually reflected in her eyes in her sprite, something her eyes had lacked before. I thought I had moved on from Miyuki by then. But when we had to choose, I felt more of a connection with Miyuki. Maybe I had gained Stockholm syndrome or something after she forced Shinichi and US through hell, but for me the only route for me was Miyuki because the time spent with her was a lot more personal for me. And plus I wanted a happy ending for her, since we basically cheated on her. This brings me to one of my criticisms, which is that I don't think we had enough screen time with Aoi(imo). Having seen the Aoi ending, I'm happy since, given that Miyuki players do receive the picture that Aoi players sent, I assume both endings occur. That just means depending on what ending we choose it's where the player's manifest. Anyways, sorry for the long parahraphs, like I said there's basically no fandom for this game so seeing this reply was really refreshing. I hope you're doing well, and I hope you have an awesome Christmas as well. If you have any thoughts on the game I'd be more than happy to hear it.

As the one who read them both, the connection between the two is relatively minimal, so you won't lose too much by playing Cartagra after KNS. Other than minor details about a bunch of side characters (who were mains in Cartagra), that is.

Cartagra isn't too important for KNS1 There is one scene that will hit 1000× harder if you read Cartagra but that's about it. Cartagra is much more important to the plot of KnS2 tho

True, but nothing was more torturous in my book than anything related to Kiika (imcluding her own bad ends and death in Yuka's route). I swear, sometimes I wanted to ask the writer "What did she do to you, my guy/gal? Did she murder your entire family and stir-fry your dog for dinner? While we're at it, did she also force you to watch it all unfold?". Seriously, come on, enough with the torture! Or leave some of it for the one who deserves it, like that bitch-ass Yuka!

Those gangbang scenes are so unnecessary. It only there to make you fuming, but it never been brought up to MC or ever mentioned again. But you need to go through that to unlock true route.😂
