@@gigilamoore2656 I strongly disagree! I was that older sibling who had to be responsible for my youngest siblings. My child hood was hell! I love my mother( may God rest her soul) but she should have made better choices, She and my father( who wasn't there). I am not judging her, but after the first child you should be able to know not to have more unless you are prepared! I will not have my oldest child be robbed of their childhood for my responsibilities!

When children are robbed of their rightful place by adults who don't step into their rightful place as parents, it disturbs the entire order of a family. When she said "you're the only mother I've ever known"...that's too much for anyone 😔. My heart goes out to them.

I’m an elementary teacher. And I have so many students who are the oldest or middle child and they are made to take care of their siblings. And will get punished by grounding, spanking, or worse if they don’t take care of their younger siblings, do the household chores, and do their school work. Some of these kids come to school so exhausted and my heartbreaks because they’re babies being robbed of their childhood and innocence.

When she got in the car to go to the meeting and was talking about "everyone just here to jump on poor Andrea. Take a vacation at my expense." Being a recovering addict myself, I knew she wasn't ready. For me personally, and for several others I've talked to and known, they had to hit their absolute rock bottom. Pretty much it's either prison(you can get drugs easier there than on the outside most times) or death. Everytime either I was court ordered or forced into some kind of "intervention", I would do it, BUT only because it BENEFITED me in ways not related to my sobriety at ALL. But, in March of this year, I nearly died on my dad's birthday. I, for the first time, was actually ready on my own, and was in rehab a few days later!!! Been clean, sober, and in my very own HOME (that just got decorated for Halloween mind you 😁) since March 2nd!!! So know, that when we the addicts are ready to get help, that we, us, the addict, the HUMAN.... WE DO RECOVER!!!! Relapse is part of recovery too, so don't give up, it's good she is addressing the reasons WHY she uses substances to self medicate. That was another biggie for me. Until I dealt with those, I was bound to continue to get high because those deep seeded issues were still there and still there enough for me to self medicate to cover or numb them. Love all these beautiful Queens!!! I'm so proud they asked for help, they have an amazing teacher! I'm so ready to see their glow up!!!! 🖤❤🖤❤🖤❤

I’m the oldest (I have a younger sister) and my mom had to leave us at home at night so that she could work. This started at age 6 and my sister was 2. That was a lot of responsibility on me being a little girl having to “take care” of my baby sister. I couldn’t tell anyone what was going on and never got a chance to express my emotions. This is why I have a hard time expressing my feelings to this day. I’m a work in progress and it still bothers me to this day at 33 years old. I’m thinking about going to counseling.
