I imagine the melody is meant to basically be a common folk tune, and various lyrics have been put to it. This kind of stuff happened in real life too, which is really cool to see a hint of in WoW, actually. :)

Fun facts: Daelin Proudmoore is voiced by Mark Addy (the actor who portrayed Robert Baratheon in Game of Thrones). Katherine Proudmoore is voiced by Indira Verma (the actress who portrayed Ellaria Sand in Game of Thrones).

The little song at the start is effectively why I play a human warrior. You are not blessed by the light, or have the arcane on your side, you are just a simple man trying to survive with will and rage, defending your family from the legion, scourge and the horde. Perhaps the only thing that drives him is the thought of coming back to his family. Aww man, I felt so bad for daelin

A simple man not blessed by the light or have the arcane on your side but have weapons from long history and artifacts blessed by Azeroth herself. Plus weapons armor and trinkets from monstrous foes of legend. Perhaps the only thing that drives you is stronger gear.

It's amazing; The last couple of expansions she's built up as a vengeful, cold, raging threat. The Horde intro quest here has her as an almost unstoppable force, a roving storm. And then we get to see her at her most vulnerable, the hurt, tired, guilt-ridden woman beneath the icy shell; and though I haven't gotten that far, it seems she is on a journey of self-forgiveness. That's some damn good writing and character development. Also, these cinematics are amazing.

Nah. This is not the point. For me, the great asshole behind everything is still, and always will be, Blizzard. The fact that Taurens and Orcs are following, without a STRONG motive, someone like Sylvanas is what makes me mad. It's just not convincing and Out Of Character for all this characters. In fact, even Jaina's attitude change is not very well justified (she had become a bitch in previous expansions). Now she looks much nicer than before out of nothing. However, THIS change makes for better and really pleases me. tl; dr: blame Blizzard for forcing an unnatural reaction from the Horde characters to follow Sylvanas's lead. It's just stupid, and it's just THAT type of stupid things that's tempting me to change my faction. ... I strongly believe, however, that Blizzard WILL create some weird motive for Sylvanas' stupid behavior (all that tree burning was stupid, and she was really never THAT stupid before). However, for me, wehn that happens, probably will be a super forced reason or something, so count me out.

Yeah, Jaina did the best she could under the circumstances, and if Thrall had bothered to remain Warchief, none of them would be in this situation right now. It's not her fault the Horde has devolved from an empire of outcasts to an engine designed to churn out monsters.

Akhilesh P Even if she helps at Stratholme she accomplishes nothing in the long term because Arthas still hates the dreadlord to sail away, pick up frostmourne and become a death knight. If Jaina disagrees with any unnecessary stuff he does over there like destroy his boats to trap the army or pick up a blade he knows is cursed he will still be mad and still become a death knight. She does not destroy the scourge by helping Stratholme. For her father she didn't save him because when she tried to create a better place in Kalimdor for the horde and humans to live in peace Daelin attacked. If she did nothing it would be a constant war which, to her, would mean throwing away everything she worked for. If she remained neutral she would lose everything and with the horde not being aggressive she had no reason to attack. The only option she had was to side with the horde to keep the peace in Theramore which meant killing her father and not teleporting him away or with his knowledge of the horde he would come back to lead more attacks where he would be prepared before setting sail and keep a much closer watch on Jaina.

Akhilesh P the alternative was letting the horde go on to be oppressed and aggressed against. They had just been locked up in internment camps and were presently settling peacefully in a new land. Attacking them under those circumstances is completely unacceptable and it was right for Jaina to help them.

I just played the Warcraft 3 Founding of Duratar campaign where you play as Rexxar (BTW whatever happened to Rokhan the troll?) And am now reading the Jaina Proudmoore book because I never have understood why Jaina turned against the horde so completely. It's interesting that they're coming back to this storyline again. It almost makes me want to get the new expansion. This is the first expansion I haven't renewed my subscription for. I'm not sure I'll be able to stay away either.

The Kul Tiras Jaina questline was in my opinion one of the finest story arcs in the entirety of WoW. Actually, i think that we havent had a better alliance storyline since then. Well, ok, no surprise since we had no real Alliance of Horde specific ones in Shadowlands or Dragonflight...

Long-time Hordie here but I gotta say these Kul'tirans aren't fucking around. I almost felt bad for Jaina too for the first time, knowing fully well that her fathers death was NOT her fault, if anything making a peace with Orgrimmar was just to keep people on both sides alive. Her father had it coming ultimately, yet she takes all the blame and doesn't even get angry about it. Blizzards really good at tugging on the heartstrings.

They fucked up the storyline, Back then Jaina knew Thrall and Rexar were protecting their homeland, however her father insisted in attacking the orcs and Orgrimmar refusing to stop even though time by time they’ve been begging him to stop.

Anyway its partially her fault cuz she stood away while the horde murdered her father just to keep the peace and now she regrets it because the horde got fucked up by sylvanas' leadership so no they fucked up nothing its still the same storyline just with different storytelling and graphics

Abdullah Al Bastaki So, you haven't played Kul Tiras quests yet. You should play for yourself to understand what their nation has been through and how the events will unfold. I don't wanna give out spoilers but the full story is on some KZfaq videos already. The storyline here has zero flaw! Blatant accusations and jumping to conclusions just make you sound ignorant, nothing more than a person who can only read linear stories that hold no substance.

She trusted Thrall with the Horde so much that she values the pact between them over her love for her father and her nation, only to be betrayed when Garrosh mana-bombed her city and the Blood Elves in Kirin Tor conspired to breach her security in Teldrassil to aid Garrosh. The betrayal of the Horde tore her from within, as she had once betrayed her very own nation, Kul Tiras only to learn that she had placed her faith in the wrong hands. As the leader of Theramore, she had taken the responsibility for the fate of every human soldier that had died in Theramore, be it those who were bombed, and those from her homeland she had forsaken. She has grown up to be wise and matured after all she's been through
