Penny saying "hey chat" Is the psychological equivalent of your parents saying your full name
@Yuxqexaowq2 жыл бұрын
someone in chat asking penny if she'd drink lean without the drug part is funnier when you realize that it's literally a two ingredient drink, and therefore removing the drug part would just. that's just drinking sprite. "hey penny do you drink sprite"

So, this was the first ever video game I owned. I got it for Christmas when I think I was 4(?) and to this day it’s one of the few games that is still just as good as I remember it. Even on the original ps2, I feel that because it’s so stylized it hasn’t aged a day graphically. Naughtydog really knocked this game out of the park

Same here. Not the first game I ever played (that was Crash Bandicoot) but it was the first I ever owned. I was 4 as well. I remember when my mom told me she got me Jak and Daxter, I thought it was 2 games. I wanted to play Daxter first because I thought it was gonna be about Dexter's Laboratory. Good times.

Real talk, I super appreciate how dedicated Penny is to keeping her first playthroughs blind and spoiler free in regards to chat. Not only does it make it way more fun to watch as her reactions are so good, but also as someone who also never played these games and doesn't have the means to access them *to* play them, it means that experiencing it for the first time alongside her is super super super fun. Also Large Thanks to the chat mods for all the hard work and people in chat who actually respect it, it makes it a super fun stream space to hang out in

One of my favourite games as a kid! It's still weird to me how the series started out as a lighthearted platformer, only for Naughty Dog to dip the product in Dark Eco and make it dark and edgy and full of guns!
@KatJustice975 ай бұрын
we've got gta to thank for that one. i don't dislike the later games by any means, but there's a part of me that wishes we would have gotten at least one more fantasy-adjacent setting for a jak game before moving onto modern city style play

I played through the Jak trilogy recently, and I have to say that I enjoyed all of them, which surprised me because I originally only liked the first one, but I found myself enjoying 2 and 3 as well. The PlayStation Mascot Trilogies are really good for some reason, and I can’t explain exactly why, but I’m glad I played through all of them to completion anyway.

I think the double jump is deceptively short horizontally. But mechanically this is a good thing in my opinion, as it keeps it from being too good. It it was high and far, it would make high and long jump less good. Double jump is also kinda slow, which makes a single jump better for flow, when it is enough, imploring the player to not overuse the double jump.

i feel like games use turorialization more than before because they make bland characters in extremely immersive settings, so you forget that a character exists until a cutscene appears, so they have to REMIND you that a character is there by having them talk and talk and TALK about small things that dont matter, because they didnt know how else to use their own character. that or they make puzzles and objectives so vague they have to have a character tell you what you need to do

The irony with collectathons like this is that it's easier to beat the game when going for 100%, purely because of how many extra things there are in early levels. If you just barely get the 20 power cells to power the heat shield, then you need 25 EXTRA to power the levitation ray which is really daunting, but if you get all the orbs around the village tand fire canyon then you'll already have 36 power cells and only need 9 more to progress. So the more you do in the early easy parts, the less you have to do in the later, harder parts. Otherwise if you bare minimum it you'll either have to keep backtracking like mad, or do way more really hard missions.

Jak 3 is a lot easier than II, but once you get used to how the games play you end up craving the greater challenge that II provides, in my experience. Jak 3 was actually my first ever video game, so I've got a fondness for it, but Jak II is my favorite nowadays because it feels more grounded and challenging and stripped down.

2:27:48 Penny, here's the real terrible secret, there is no set scientific definition for what a vegetable is. A fruit, we have a set definition for, separate bit that plants grow that contain seeds.
