It’s so fun to bargain for the best price at these markets and that’s exactly what we do today! I really like how you bargaining like a local do to bargain .. Well I usually bargain till 30% - 40% off, after win the battle I giving them extra money as an appreciation .. it's not about the price, but all about satisfaction in bargain 😂

cendol is actually from Indonesia, but spread throughout Southeast Asia, this happens a lot in Indonesian food, such as rendang, fried rice is actually from indonesia but Malaysia and Singapore have it too because Indonesian food spread from Indonesian ancestors who migrated

Love the video. I grew up in Jakarts but have been living in the U.S for over 20 years. These videos brings back the days where I would go shopping with my dad to Mangga Dua. ❤ Btw..those black sauce are not molases but "Kecap Manis" or Sweet Soy Sauce in English. Different how they are made. Kecap Manis is staple in Indonesian cuisine. A lot of Indonesian dishes incorporate Kecap manis to give that sweet flavor. For example, It's what makes foods like fried rice aka "Nasi goreng", and fried noodles aka "Mie goreng" turn into uniquely Indonesian. Almost any meats and fish that are grilled use it also.

Don't forget bro, cendol comes from Indonesia, including a traditional drink on the Indonesian island of Java, and not from Malaysia!! remember that, be careful when you speak, because Malaysia is famous for claiming the culture of other countries !!

Cendol is originated from Java (Indonesia) not from Malaysia, even they have cendol in Singapore.

47:33 There are many kind of Satay in Indonesia such as Sate Padang, Sate Lilit from Bali, Sate Klatak, Sate Maranggi. The one you’ve tried is Sate from Madura island with peanut sauce in it ❤ 48:14 That’s not Mollases but ketchup manis/ sweet soybean sauce ❤ 49:39 That’s Lontong, rice cook inside the banana leaf ❤

You can visit Skywalk Senayan Park if you want to see Jakarta from above or you can also visit JPO Pinisi Sudirman, both are just as beautiful, especially at night

Thank you, it feels like you guys take me with you to Mangdu.. I used to go here often, after I got paid every month. This place is tremendously tempting, and challenging our bargain skill. I live in Michigan, USA now and there's no place like Mangdu in Michigan. Oh, and what they use in Indonesian satay sauce is not molasses but coconut palm sugar and sweet soy sauce, and satay usually comes with lontong which is rice cake wrapped with banana leaves to add more flavor.

There are no molasses in your satay. That dark thick liquid in the peanut sauce is sweet soy sauce, and the green color on the rice cake probably because it was cooked and steamed using banana leaves. Enjoy Indonesian food! 😊

The “molasses” is actually Kecap Manis (sweet soy sauce) and the “rice noodle” is Lontong. It’s compressed rice wrapped in banana leaves and steamed or boiled. The green on the outside comes from the banana leaf and would give the vegetable taste you said you could taste 🙏 love your videos!

okay ive done watching it, first of all shelby need to be more careful, that's escalator incident could be more fatal tho, you got me shocked there.. please don't hurt yourself especially when you're on a vacation.. but the shopping spree was fun to watch tho, you guys bought alot of goods products i think, and i know ive never watching you guys before the jakarta trip, but one thing that amaze me is shelby really incredible with bargaining, she's pretty much killing every transaction occur.. and about the donut, once again you guys need to find JCO donuts, can't wait to see your guys reaction 😂.. anyway, thank you so much for the video, lookin forward to your next one.. stay healthy and keep happy.. ❤ PS : don't hurt yourself SHELBY 😡

Aw I try to be careful but the escalator had a defect and it sucked up my sandal! A scary moment for sure. I’ll try to be more aware 🤭 it was our favourite mall we have ever been too, there was a ton of good deals! Bargaining is so fun!! Also yes we need to try the donuts 😍 they sound so yummy! Guys... go visit PIK 2 , Pantai Indah Kapuk, 2 .. u can reach there buy TransJakarta bus... go there in the afternoon to see sunset... nice place to stroll... street food, malls, beach.... go check out on u tube and u will like it...
