The book is even better - what a true American hero. There are not many men like this - men that are willing to sacrifice without jumping into the spotlight. His recognition now and with the movie and everything is so well-deserved. If you read this, Mr. Mendez, THANK YOU

but that's not the true. Mr.Mendez was only day and half in Iran. The real hero was the Canadian ambasodor Ken Tylor. Its made up movie for Hollywood.

Tony Mendez is a true hero.A shame that I never heard of him before until today when I was looking for a good movie to watch and I found Argo. Ben Affleck also did a great job in the movie.

Wow! OMG! Ben Affleck you are a genius! You were brilliant in that movie! Kudos to the screenwriter Chris and good lord Tony Mendez I mean... Seriously Ben if you see this, you've got to get more stories out of this man and make other movies.

The only reason why I watched this movie was because it came in a bundle with The Town. The Town was the movie I wanted but I'm glad I got that bundle. This is an amazing story and would recommend it to anyone.

Yatziri Anti-colonialism first off, gringo is a stupid fucking word, and second of all, the real Mendez has Irish, Italian,etc. roots on his moms side and he has blue eyes, and he grew up knowing nothing anything about his dads heritage or even speak Spanish. He was closer to his moms side, his dads was irrelevant. He literally said he doesn’t consider himself to be Hispanic, and doesn’t care that Affleck player him
@bobsafer12
@bobsafer12 6 жыл бұрын
Yatziri Anti-colonialism and classifying all Mexicans as not looking white is retarded. Plenty of Mexicans are as white as can be, Guillermo del toro has super white skin with green eyes, and is just as Mexican as anyone else for example. Mexican isn’t a race, plenty of different skin colors

I went to hear Jonna Mendez (his widow) at the spy museum in DC. She told me that Hollywood might make a movie out of The Moscow Rules, but she wasn't sure yet. Still in negotiations.

I would like to thank Mr. Mendez . I would also like everyone remember the chance the Canadians did. If they were caught I believe they would have been executed. They are also hero's.

Please check out what President Carter says about this movie, he was in power at the time. It was 90%% the Canadians that got them out. You realize this is a movie and Hollywood takes away the credit from the true hero's once again. Tony Mendez was only in Iran 1 and a half days, but yet he takes more credit than he deserves. Wonder if he would have the same story in front of Mr. Taylor.

the "houseguests" told the makers of ARGO all the things they were getting wrong. they were ignored. Apparently, the diplomats from New Zealand in Iran had no embassy or place for the "houseguests" to stay (too small a country) but the few 'kiwis' that were there were very helpful in the day to day and getting them out - so why put that line in ARGO saying "the 'Kiwis' turned them away." AND the "Brits" turned them away to save them. They were initially staying at the British Embassy but would have been captured if they had stayed longer. As usual, the TRUTH is still the BEST story.

Really? It seemed like he was chatting up with his wife, quite genuinely. And Jake's probably really good with the cover ups. I mean, to the eye, it seemed a little inappropriate. I wouldn't want to speculate on what really happened. It was really about what met the eye.

Want the REAL story of ARGO? Watch UNEDITED interviews of the "houseguests". Now free to tell ALL (including what parts of ARGO are Hollywood fiction). Everyone has their singular memories, but when several people overlap in agreement of events, it's probably as close to the truth as we'll get. I recommend interviews with Mark & Cora Lijek.
